I think it's best if a person seperates themselves from anything that's rather negative. I say that a bit hypcritically, as there are shows, movies, and games I like or have seen/played that would raise a few eyebrows. I've been working to get away from such things, however.

If you look at the GTA series, even as far back as the PS1 when it was a bird's eye view game, it has always depicted and glorified a criminal lifestyle. You gun people down, you beat them to death, you break the law, you deal drugs, you engage in illegal street races, in Vice City you get to purchase an adult film studio and help them produce, and you have to have sex with prostitutes to give yourself a boost in health. I don't think it's to the point where anyone kills anyone or breaks the law "because they played GTA," but I think the emphasis on crime and the stance the games and games like it seem to take, might make a person's views or feelings on such things much more soft.

You are what you focus on. Playing a game where the gameplay is focused primarily on wicked deeds, and much more glorifies and relishes in such things, isn't very healthy. I don't know if I would define as "sin" per say, but still, best avoided.

don't know what that is so don't know if it is a sin or not .. my question is why do you spend so much time on such questions .. wouldn't your time be better spent in actually reading God's Holy Spirit inspired Word and Truth so you can develop your own ever growing, ever maturing, personal, intimate relationship with God and the more you get to know Him and the more attuned you become to being able to listen to Him and hear Him speak in your heart and head, the more you will understand what He says to you .. you will learn a lot about what sin is and how it displeases God but how He will keep on loving you and keep on hoping you will see the light and repent aka change from aka turn back to God .. anything we choose to do that is contrary to the Will of God is sin and we do sin but when we do, IF we repent genuinely and sincerely, we shall always be forgiven and not punished .. if we choose to sin and choose not to repent, we choose to be walking away from God (not Him from us) and to be heading down the road to eternity in lake of fire as sin leads only to certain death but repentance restores our turning back to God and to doing His Holy Will and God will be waiting for us to do so with open loving forgiving welcoming arms .. God will not force us to come to Him or stay with Him or obey Him .. that is our choice but God wants us to be with Him .. do we want to be with God is the question .. there are things that are definitely sins and there are things that are not sins unless they cause others to stumble and fall into choosing sin but anything we genuinely believe to be a sin is a sin for us if we choose to do it because we shall knowingly choose to do it even though we do believe it is sin but, again, sin leads to eternal death but REPENTANCE leads back to restored eternal life .. please concentrate on building your relationship with God via His HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED Word and Truth and you will become more and more happy in knowing God is with you and you are with Him .. may God bless and guide and enlighten you ..

I'm guessing, based on that single, rather large paragraph, that you know what GTA V is. Otherwise, it makes no sense as a response to the simple, one sentence question. It's as if they asked, "Is playing tennis a sin?"  I'm all for reading the bible, studying, praying, etc., but there is nothing wrong with enjoying life as well. Jesus did it. The apostles did it. Of course, one can become a nun or monk...

I do not know if this input will be of value. Personally, I do not play Hitman, GTA, etc type of games. Not just because they have killing hookers, selling drugs to them, and banging them (but not in that order of course) but because it is human killing humans. I prefer to blow up spaceships or shoot off the heads of demons and monster.

Now, games like GTA/etc can cause some spiritual issues. I went for my BS in video game design. I did a lot of reports on crimes copied from video games. I am not saying the typical, "him playing these games made him cause this crime." I mean the specifics where someone played GTA or Hitman and did the EXACT same thing from the game than ended up with brutal fatalities. Like horror movies, porn, or presidential conventions, there are a lot of things in this world that are fed into a soul and mind and cause damage. Now, I enjoy a good horror movie for the plot, but rarely those pop up these days. No one is perfect but many are weaker than others.

The only type of online FPS with PvP I play now and then, because of reasons, are from Roblox. My system can handle it, it is not realistic, and fun to blow up block bodies of kids who are spending too much time online with video games. HAHAHA........ hmmmm, maybe I should reevaluate my lives.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
