Where did you come up with pogroms and the holocaust no one has even said a word about them and why are you trying to mix them into this string. The crusades, Inquisitions and the witch trials were all carried out in the name of god and authorized by the leadership of the churches involved at the time.

The pogroms inquistions and crusades, witch trials and the holocaust all have this in common. I was surprised you did not mention them all. They were all claimed to be done in the Name of Christ. Even Hitler used the Bible and the writings of Martin Luther.

Just because such things were being carried out in the name of God (with a captial "G" BTW), does not mean that those who did such things were Christians. Not everyone who claims to be Christian really is. There are those walking in our midst who claim to be Christians but are, in reality pagan.

Biblical Christianity cannot be blamed for these atrocities. I realize that you would love to find a way to make the connection, but it does not exist. Your attempt to slander Christianity will not stand.

So you now have a christian catch 22. If christian does a bad thing then by definition they can not be a christian.

What you don't dont seem to understand is tha the "Church" in the middle ages and even during the reformation period was a political entity. It was the government in most countries. It was made up of leaders following Christ in sincerity. Many of the leaders rose through the ranks through political treachory and even through murdering their rivals and predecessors.

It was not sanctioned by Biblical Christianity nor carried out by true Christians. Therefore, even the witch trials were not a matter of Christians killing Christians, but of evil men murdering innnocent people based up on trumped up charges false accusations.

Oh and BTW, the inquistion was also not about killing Christians. The victims of the Inquistion were Jews.

As for slandering Christianity, I was not baiting you. You are a slanderer of our faith. When someone said that a true Christian would not do such things as sacrificing children, you automatically blamed biblical Christianity for the inquistions, witch hunts, and crusades.

i hardly ever imagine what i will be doing when i am old and grey. the once in a blue moon times that i do....i just think to myself that i am wasting time since i am most likely to never get there. why? Christ would have come already!!! i mean i don't think its a far fetched assumption on my part...look at this story, the attrocities in Zimbabwe, the suicide bombs, the rampant murders, the tsunamis homosexual laws, the pope and his doctrines the cults......

I think perhaps "Satanic Cult" would be a better more accurate description of the phenomena. The writers choice of the words "fundamentalist Christian Cults" is both inaccurate and inappropriate. It shows an anti Christian bias and a failure to understand what Christ

The Inquisition was of course, more about power and money than about theology. Theology only provided a thin veneer for corrupt officials.

There are two seperate issues pushed together here. Firstly, the accusations of human sacrifice are not against christian groups, but against those following traditional religious practices. Secondly, the accusations against christians was against the prevelance within some pentecostal churches of so called deliverance practices aimed at driving out evil spirits etc.There is evidence od children suffering as a result of this type of practice including the murder three or four years ago of a littlte girl called Victoria Climmbie. There is always a danger of this and other sorts of perverted doctrines emerging in small unregulated ( i.e. without internal checks and balances and or external regulation) sects be they Christian or of other faiths led by charismatic individuals. THese are not specifically African problems either. Remember Jones town, the Solar Temple (suicidal Swiss/Canadian sect), Waco, and those folk who killed themselves in order to catch a ride on the Halley-Bopp comet
