it was Christ who told us how we are to show that we don't love it more than Him. GIVE IT UP!

Which is what I, being a successful General Contractor who carried $500 in my pocket every day, GAVE IT ALL UP, 28 years ago to come to a third world country without a penny in my pocket or any financial support from any church or organization, to preach the Gospel only relying on, putting all of my faith in:

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.  Psa 37:25

And today, 28 years later, by the endless Mercy, ever abounding Grace and infinite Love of/from my Father, I can truly say without any hesitancy:

...my cup runneth over. Psa 23:5

He has abundantly supplied, 24/7 for these 28 years, all of my needs, financially, physically and Spiritually, ...now, how about you?

In other words you put your faith into action and did what Christ taught instead of finding every reason around it.

So, Capitalism is based on the simple theory that if someone is successful they will grow their wealth and be an example of the earthly riches that you too can attain by using the principles of Capitalism.

This is not a definition of capitalism. But one possibility that the fruit of capitalism can cause. But not the definition of capitalism itself.

Capitalism is the right to do what you want with your stuff. Whether that be good or bad.

And yes there will be people that want to control what other people do with their stuff. This is what capitalism is against. Someone forcing someone else to do something with the fruit of their labor. This in God’s economy is called stealing.

For the freedom to choose is what capitalism protects. And God has given us the right to choose and the right to be wrong.

You are right that it's not an actual definition. It's a comment on the fruits of the principle. And actually it's not even capitalism that's the root of the problem. Christians who use it to their own benefit and gather worldly treasures for themselves instead of using their good fortune for God's will are the problem as I see it. Christ didn't endorse any particular monetary or economic system for society, He simply gave rules for those who wish to follow Him. The original premise was the wisdom of using a slogan on our money to show a trust in God. It has now become more about Capitalism in general and I guess I stated my opinion in a way that sounded as if I was attempting to define Capitalism, so to set the record straight, while I believe that to the best of my ability that my quotes from Christ are accurate everything else is me using Christ's teachings to explain how I believe Christians should conduct economic affairs. There has also been a little of what I call "prosperity gospel" that has crept in so I posted separately on that. Thanks for your comments and God bless

The thing that's most disturbing to me is how many of those people not only claim to be Christian but find solace in the churches that teach that the accumulation of wealth for ones self is of God. While the wealth may well be of God, it may also be a test to see what you'll do with it.

I think this is just a sign of the times, evil man will wax worse and worse. In the Church and out of the Church. Paul uses the term “false brethren”. Which is for God to judge, I just want oil in my lamp, and to be found doing His will.

So blessings and peace my fellow laborer in Christ, be well and God speed. Not me

That's all one could hope, to have oil in your lamp so it's burning bright to light the way all the way. All we can do is shine our light to the world and we can't shine if we're out of oil.

A Sunday morning thought. All around the world the US dollar is seen as a symbol of Free Market Capitalism. On that dollar is printed the phrase "In God We Trust." This phrase first appeared on the 2 cent coin minted in 1864 and then added to other money. The question is should God's name be associated with the money that's the symbol of our Capitalistic economy? Does God really support our economic system? When asked about paying tribute to Caesar, Christ used a coin with Caesar's image on it and said "Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's". Have we in our piety put a reference to God on our money, thinking that somehow God actually will bless our economy for it? Should we be using trust in God to bolster faith in our worldly monetary system?

The problem, I think, in a socialistic economy is that there is no incentive to work hard. It's wrong, I think, for hard working people to be required to support those who are too lazy to work. I think capitalism, with reasonable restrictions, is a better system.

If your focus is upon the earth only …. but we work not as earthly reward but for Jesus' glory! So from that perspective it doesn't matter what political system God places us in we are set free to remain in the proper perspective.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
