Hmm, interesting hypothesis. I'm not sure it's always true, especially for all people. Either way, predisposed or not the point of this post is how terrible it is when we are taught to commit certain sins and worse still we're taught it's perfectly normal, acceptable, even desirable. God says no, wipe them out of your life.

JTC,

A person, born again, saved, or not, can stop committing a certain sin.

So, lets say, a person has a problem with booze, drugs, porn, fornication,  hate, envy, lying, and they have murdered a few people.

Then they turn 40 yrs old, and they stop using drugs, porn, and no longer hate, envy,  fornicate, rent "R" rated movies, or watch "R" rated Cable TV programs.....or commit murder.

Then they die at 42 and meet God.

What happens next?  and Why?

Ok, here is the what and why.

"Jesus came into the world to save sinners".  "Jesus said, if you do not believe in me, that I Am THE Messiah, you will die in your sin".....  "for God so loved the world that He Gave His Son for the SIN of the world".

Now, what does all that mean?

It means a few things....

1.) Sin once committed will be judged by God,  and the judgement for sin in eternity, is eternal separation from God. (Hell, then the Lake of Fire).

2.) Judging yourself, and stopping all your sin, is fine and good, but the sins you have committed before you are born again,  have been committed and so God's justice and judgment is due them all

3. God as a Man, born of a Virgin, literally came into this world to DIE and thereby Himself take all the justice and judgment DUE us all for our sin upon Himself....., as we are all sinners who have fallen short of God's holy requirement for righteousness and acceptance.

4. Once Christ has died for your SIN DEBT on the Cross, and this Blood Atonement has been applied to you via your Faith.......... then all the sin you can commit, including all  previously committed sin and those yet to be committed, = God will never in Eternity Judge you for, BECAUSE  Christ has already died for, (in your place),  them ALL.

So, a person says........ "what sin can i commit as a born again Christians, that God as Christ on the Cross has not already died for , and taken all judgement due me for them (all) ?

Answer.), NONE.

The SHED blood of Jesus, does not skip, miss, forget, or otherwise come up short.... with respect to cleansing all the born again from every sin, and keeping them cleansed for eternity.

Salvation is not a part time justification and sanctification.  It is not a temporary solution.  It is in fact the final and eternal solution and resolution for Sin,  that God required to save you, and keep you saved.

You are saved and kept saved by God, thru Christ, = The Blood Atonement.

Redemption,  is God's Blood shed on a Cross, and what it accomplished for all who are born again, is eternal.

Steve my Brother, I don't wish to disagree with you but I think Frienduff was right to say that. I don't think Frienduff meant it as an insult I believe he was quite serious. And let me add I often don't agree with Frienduff but this time I have to defend him.

You can believe frienduff was right to say that and that's your right, however, according to our rules, he certainly should not have said it. This forum is not intended for members to openly opine on other members' spiritual situation. That's just how it is. We have never allowed and will never allow it. It is part of what gets people banned from threads and gets threads closed and deleted. We respect memberss right to disagree with our rules and our decisions, we just ask that members respect those rules in return.

Thanks, JTC, for recognizing and being willing to witness that life after salvation is not smooth sailing for everyone.  Of course we who are born again, who have put all of our trust in Jesus' power to save, know our sins are forgiven--both those we give over to Him and those we are not even aware of.  However, Jesus did not save us so we could live a do-nothing life.

And I thank you for your growth and insights in God's Word, and I thank God for you. I'm encouraged when I hear someone's on the same page as me because too many are not. After I had posted the OP I realized maybe I should have put this in the Testimony forum because all it was meant to be was a statement of what I do. But then we started getting a lot of responses that were open and honest which is always good.

Life is certainly supposed to be different after salvation, even if it takes decades. And you're right it isn't always great. I have 2 thoughts about this. For many of us it looks like the real advantage to being a Christian will be after death. At my age and with my health that's all it can be. I'm saved some 40 yrs and the first 32 of them were rather tumultuous & turbulent. I never got my heart's greatest desires and many churches teach we will get them as if God owes us this because we said we accept His son. The truth is God doesn't owe us a thing, we owe Him. But why is this taught and was it ever true. I honestly don't know if it was ever true but if it was then we must be in a different stage of God's master plan where many of us better learn to be happy just knowing God. No wife/husband, great car or house, no kids, but after we leave here we'll get our reward. Paul called it a crown. Another part of this issue comes from Psalm 37:4, the NIV renders it as "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."  I was once taught that this means if I love God with all my mind, heart, strength and soul that then He will give me my heart's greatest desire. I'm not a Hebrew scholar but I believe that's the wrong interpretation. I explain that verse to mean when you make God your heart's greatest desire He will grant it by coming to you and bringing you the peace that surpasses all understanding. It just doesn't mean a mate, house, car, money, status, children nor anything else of the world. It means Him and as you learn to be happy knowing God as well as knowing God knows you, some folks feel joy in that. I wish they didn't teach it means you'll get what you want. Because as PromisesPromises said often the Christian life is not smooth sailing. And we're lucky in America, no one is trying to kill us like in other countries.

God Bless you sister.

John TC

I believe when we delight in the Lord that then the desires of our heart change more into what the Lord has for us.
