Hi all.

I want to ask a question.

It says in the NKJV

"Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?

And then I will declare  to them  "I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"

Matthew 7 v 21-23

Wow.........this really made me feel nervous.

I want to say, "Without God with you, you CAN'T do wonders, you CAN'T cast out demons, and you CAN'T do anything like that.......soooooo I got a bit scared!!!

I quicky turned to the book of Luke...

"And those who heard it said "Who then can be saved?"

But He said "the things which atre impossible with men are possible with God."

Well, folks, I'm stumpted.

Jesus says one thing, then.......or is it just me?

When I look at the first few verses.......it's quite concern-making!!!

Any thoughts?

Yomo, Romans tells us that we must confess the Lordship of Jesus and believe in our hearts that the Father raised Him from the dead.

There is a difference in saying that Jesus is Lord, and confessing that He is your personal Lord. First off if you have not actually made Him your Lord then you are not saved but condemned yourself as a liar. Second, if you have really made Him your Lord and confessed it to others, then you are obligated to follow His instructions as His servant. His instructions were/are/will be to follow the will of the Father. This is what He taught during the time He was here.

So, some will call Him Lord, but have not really made Him thier Lord so don't follow His instructions and are nor ever have been saved.

This is the way I understand those verses you post here.

Sam

"Of course the devil can cast out his demons, they're his, aren't they????

I thought Jesus said "a house divided against itself cannot stand?"

That's confusing!!!

Yomo, if you are self deceived into thinking that you are saved and are not, the easiest way to keep you that way is for satan and his followers to do your bidding as you demand in the name of Jesus to do things.

I would think that they would come out of people when that kind of a person demans it, and laughs around the corner as it walks away knowing that it has that person in the end.

We should all daily keep a check on our hearts to assure that it is in the right place (and I don't mean literally  ).

Many do healings "in the name of Jesus" and the people are healed, but it is not the 'healer' but the faith and repentance of the one needing healing. Just because you use his name and know that there is power in it doesn't make you you saved. The Demons believe, remember, but will they be saved? No, these verses are describing those that have an appearence of Godliness

2Ti 3:5

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

3:7

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Seeing this, Kefa addressed the people: "Men of Isra'el! Why are you amazed at this? Or why do you stare at us as if we had made this man walk through some power or godliness of our own? acts 3:12

Yomo, many do "wonders" and other supernatural things without God - think of all the popular "psychics" out there, and those who speak to the dead (that guy who has a television show that was so popular recently, sorry, can't think of his name) and do other such "miracles". Think of the televangelists who claim God's name, yet do not serve Him. Someone is whispering in their ear - and it's not God.

God allows satan and his followers certain powers. Some may be outright deceiving (us, or themselves, or both) and say they "serve God". But they don't - they serve satan and his purposes.

Don't be freaked out about what Jesus said - just be aware and excersise discernment.

I believe God was talking about the 'posers' there. You know the actors. The stuffy "yes I'm a Christian" in public, not give a rats patoot what they do in privite. They say it but don't live it.

Actually "I never knew you" is the key phrase. As Jesus already referenced, they had been doing many things in His name .... good things according to those on the "outside". But He looks at the heart, and He didn't have a personal relationship with them. This is why even the seemingly "good" things they did amounted to "lawlessness". Not because they were bad things, but because they did them without even knowing Christ...or Him knowing them.

They were rejected because He didn't know them, not because of the things they did.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
