John 14:2 (KJV) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [emphasis added]

Most agree that the word 'mansions' are better translated as 'rooms'. I believe these rooms Jesus has prepared for His children is the New Jerusalem, that will come down from Heaven to the new earth, and this will be our eternal home here on earth.

At the Rapture / Resurrection, we will be given perfect glorified bodies much like Jesus's. There will be no more pain, disease, suffering or death; every tear will be wiped away. We will have perfect bodies that don't fatigue or need rest, nor need sleep. We will spend eternity worshiping the Lord and fellowship with Him. We will fellowship and be known of everyone in eternity. We will have responsibilities and assignments given to us. The Earth will have been restored back to a perfect environment and condition. Do we generally agree with my above thoughts?

Here's my question: Why would we be given or need a room of our own, for what purpose? For privacy, just to get away and relax? Why do you suppose we would want or need our own room? I'd be interested in your thoughts?

It seems to me New Jerusalem is the peace that descends on us when we repent of our sin.

Hi Dennis,

So wonderful to have that hope of the new body. I agree. Now I do have a couple of questions for you.

What scriptures do you have that we will be in the New Jerusalem?

Why do you think that verse in John is for the Body of Christ?

Hi Dennis,

So wonderful to have that hope of the new body. I agree. Now I do have a couple of questions for you.

What scriptures do you have that we will be in the New Jerusalem?

Why do you think that verse in John is for the Body of Christ?

Revelation 3:12 (KJV) Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. [emphasis mine]

Revelation 21:2 (KJV) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [emphasis mine]

Do Christians and the body of Christ overcome? The body of Christ and His bride are synonymous IMO. The new Jerusalem is described as having 12 foundations and 12 gates. The twelve gates are each representative of the twelve tribes of Israel. The twelve foundations are; the twelve Apostles [the Gospel; to the Jew first, then also to the Greek (gentile) us].

As a side: I can't prove it, but somehow it makes sense to me. Our rewards, assignments and responsibilities will be commensurable with our fruits and what we did for our Lord Jesus and the Kingdom of God. The new Jerusalem is described as three dimensional; 1,500 x 1,500 x 1,500 miles. Today and historically, those high ranking, most esteemed, with the most honor and respect; get the best and highest seats to view a play, games, scenery, etc. Like Trump Tower or any other high class dwelling; I suspect elevation in the new Jerusalem might be commensurable with service.

Just things I ponder and try to piece together.

So, back to the original question if you accept we Christians will be occupants in the new Jerusalem after the millennium. What are we going to use the rooms for?

Dennis, I like the way you roll bro...

I heard an estimation of how big our "rooms" will be, an estimate of how many saved saints will be there, ...yes a 1,500 mile cube is big, the base of one side is approximately the distance between Denver CO and Washington D. C., let that sink in..., the estimate was our "rooms" will be a cube of 75 acres, ...me, I'm gonna have a forest with streams, valleys, meadows, a lake, a log cabin, the forest will be filled with creatures and since the temp will be perfect I'll have an orchard with all kinds of fruit trees, and grape vines, and strawberries, ...all kinds of berries, ...and ya'll are invited to come and sit on the front porch or even out under the shade of the arbor and we'll eat the fruit, drink crystal clear mountain water, sing songs to our Lord, ...we'll all be about 30 years old so we will never be tired, ...and we can even invite Jesus to come and hang with us.

Lord bless

Eternity is amazing to just think about! Your post brought something else to mind. We all know what happens the higher we go in altitude; evidently we will not require oxygen in our glorified bodies, or, Earth's atmosphere will be greatly expanded, or perhaps something else we can't fathom? However it turns out to be, it's mind boggling.

Perhaps the mansions [rooms] are just for our personal enjoyment and 'our' space? Apparently some don't think a physical new Jerusalem is coming? Like everyone else, I have an imagination and ponder what it will be like. But going back to my original question I asked for thoughts on; I still can't imagine a reason we will have or want our own mansion [room]? Given everything that will be occurring; worshiping the Lord, places to go and explore, continuing to learn the Word, meeting and talking with Jesus, family, friends, Patriarch's, Apostles and the whole host of Heaven in fellowship.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
