nor my medication for whatever it is I have. It came in a container that I wrestle through the night with. I forgot to ask for an easy open container.

One way to solve that is to save the easy open lids from past pill bottles most of those lids will work with newer medication bottles. When I was caring for my mom, I used to buy a box of 500 from office max or office depot of those 2 and half by 3 inch yellow manila envelopes and set up each day's dose in those. With the date , day and time to take on them. Don't totally seal the flap, leave a corner up so the flap can be easily pulled up. For the gallon water bottles, and those gaterade/ juice bottles; I keep a pair of channel locks handy.

Hi, I think it was marvloustime that mentioned it.

But thank you for jumping on that idea and doing something!

Thanks! I have not ever been weakened nor felt  vulnerable to needing any help before. I have been  the family advocate that would stay awake bedside for 52 hours at a stretch for sick family, and be the helper and the muscle all these years.

Suddenly,  I look around and I am the geezer. I really can't run around in blue tights with a big red S on the chest and fly wearing a red cape.  Well I guess  I could still try, but really...

I have been so very fortunate, spoiled perhaps  to be able to overcome injury after injury in life's adventures, now I am  a bit taken back. The tank might be on empty. It might be that condo time of life.

Maybe I will not go build another house after all, nor start a gentleman's farm and raise organic food. Maybe I'll just learn to order stuff from Amazon. My sweet Texas peach says not to worry she  already does that.

Oh well small stuff compared to the really big stuff of life and the real harsh woes many face.

Praise God He is good.

I am learning to shop with Amazon prime, getting groceries and supplies that way. No going into stores at all. Of course I kind of wonder how long  it will take to use up the case of oatmeal  we bought this week, or for that matter why I even selected  a case of oatmeal. Must have seemed like a bright idea at the time. Both  of us are way sick right now, so we are depending on Amazon. Looks like it will work out better than the usual running up and down food aisles anyway. Perhaps especially well if retail shelves are not stocked up.

Sorry you are ill, Neighbor.    Our big markets have delivery but the prices are much higher than in the store.   Also, I like to look to see what's available and if there are any sales.

Brother, that's how the lady and I survive out here. It's two hours one way to pick up groceries... we do the bulk of our shopping online. This fact clicked in my head a little while ago after I mentioned being worried about our working dogs (they protect the livestock and us) so I proceeded to order food for them from chewy... it was in stock and will be here in a few days. No need to render any members of the goat herd into dog meals today... imagine their collective sigh of relief.

We're okay where human food is concerned. 40 pounds of pinto beans... the freezer is stocked... and things are in fact available if they're ordered online

Dusty, I love Chewy.com.  Actually I phone them to order, they are very pleasant.   The prices are better than the market.   Delivery is in two days usually!   Been using Chewy for about a year now.     I recommend them.

Chewy even sent me a Christmas card with what looked like a hand written note!!!    I was laughing about it to my mom....there are people we actually know that don't send us a Christmas card!

I know what you mean.   It's only the past couple of years that I started having a bit of trouble with walking outside.   Now use a cane outside and can't go far.   Now take taxis to the market.

I used to walk 30 minutes to the market for exercise.   Also, I used to hop on the nearby  subway regularly, carrying groceries home in both hands!   Do miss those days!

Wow Deb!!!

This just might be the confirmation we've been praying for!

Last Sunday the pastor of our online church in France taught on helping the needy! It really spoke to our hearts...,

About 15 years ago we prepared meals for the homeless and distributed them on Saturday nights in town, we started with preparing 15 meals and ended with serving over 50.

It drew the attention of the local Television, but not wanting to be recognized when we saw their van arrive we split, ...it also drew the attention of the Mayor and one night he sent the Fire Department and washed the "sidewalks," ...and it was on the News the next day!

The public outrage was so intense he immediately apologized and moved them to a temporary housing and bought a large house and remodeled it so that six families could live there, ...so ended our Saturday meals on wheels.

Yesterday when we were in town we observed many homeless, ...men, ...women, ...and young mothers with children living on the streets, ...and of course seeing the children broke our hearts.

We feel the Lord may be calling us back to this ministry, and today we are better equipped than before, ...also, we're going to contact Gideon's International and see if they will send us some pocket size New Testaments to hand out.

Thank you Deb and may the Lord continue to bless you...

community spirit

listening to a local radio station today and whilst i was listening it mentioned how local communities are using the internet to network a group of people who can help out in regards to people who are having to self isolate. the things they were doing were going food shopping and getting medication in and posting letters.

Update on some of my caring neighbors:

First, the mayor has told us senior citizens to isolate at home.   He has ordered restaurants to only have take out.   I still will need to go out at times to see if I can find any food or go to the nearby restaurant for take out, to help tide us over.   Also, I need more cash to give to neighbors.

A neighbor Patricia, drove me to the market yesterday.   I could only get a few things.....shelves empty or nearly empty.  Some items were taken away from me at checkout.   Market crowded.   But Patricia helped me with no complaint!!

Then today, young neighbor Will, came to check on us.   He then went down to Subway Sandwich and brought us a footlong....that will be mom's dinner tonight and tomorrow.    I got Asian food last night which will last a couple of days.

Will told us to call him if we need anything.   He said it's no imposition.    This is the same neighbor who let me use his wifi.

Last night Kavitha, who is from India, phoned.   She used to live here maybe ten years ago.   They live in a city near L.A.  They were checking to see if they could order supplies for us.

Another neighbor here in the building, Doug, phoned today.   He said they are staying inside but when they go to the market, they can get us a few things.

Anyhow, nice to have some neighbors that care about us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
