just got back from my normal grocery store here on the central coast of California.....lots of still empty shelves.  In part probably due to the fact it's the tag end of a weekend when shopping is always heaviest.   I got what I needed, but they were completely out of:

1. whole milk

2. eggs

3.  beans and rice (duh :) )

4.  bread

5. toilet paper/paper towels

6. canned meats

7. coffee

8. all forms of pasta

9.  all non- NSAID pain reliever/fever reducers (plenty of ibuprofen, naproxyn, aspirin)  ...paracetamol and acetominophen were all absent

10.  sugar

11.  flour/cornmeal

Limited amounts/choices:

1.  Cheeses

2.  Low fat/fat free milk

3.  half and half

4. canned veggies (very limited -shelves close to bare)

5.  Crackers (bread substitutes)

Abundant:

1.  Fresh fruits and vegetables

2. Meats of all kinds, fresh and prepackaged (hot dogs, sausages, etc)

I didn't make a detailed list, those are just the things I noticed.  Overall the store was probably less than half stocked.

Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, breads, rubbing alcohol, completely gone!

In the midst of all this though, with this hoarding "fear factor" I'm finding more people listening more intently to the Gospel than before when I'm reaching out to the lost.
Keep this in mind as you go through your day even if you have to talk to them from 6' away! :)

For an once of humor, I saw this on the net, it does seem to be the way many are thinking!

Not really,  we get sick too.  The contagious dead are not something any funeral director faces with anything but extreme caution. It is nerve wracking.

Drove through a Taco bell today, -same food, same unintelligible speaker box voice- not missing anything being locked down. It was the first time out of the house since the 9th. The house is more fun than what outside is like now.

Some *#*^)#(* cleaned out my favorite refried beans,

No problem bro, we make refried beans all of the time...

Sort a 1 lb bag of pinto beans, soak them over night, bring them to a boil for two minutes (I always forget so they boil a few minutes longer), let them cool down in the water for a couple of hours, when you are ready to cook them, pour out all of the water except for 1/2-3/4 cup and add enough water to cover the beans, cook on medium high for a couple of hours, adding "only" boiling water if needed, ...when they are tender pour out the water except for 1/4 cup and mash them with a potato masher, ...my Mexican friends back in the States used lard to make them creamy, ...I've tried Crisco and butter, but it's not a true taste, ...add salt and or hot water if needed to make them more creamy, but be careful, the Lard gives them the "salty" taste.

We've eaten the beans like that or have refried them in a frying pan and couldn't notice any significant change to warrant "refrying" them.

We freeze leftovers in plastic Ziploc bags and reheat them with adding a little water in the microwave.

Enjoy!

Lord bless

They are just battening down the hatches. They wait for a lull in the deaths and then will announce the virus is past its peak. Undertakers will have a field day so buy stock in coffins makers... It is going to be quite GRAVE.

The stock ticker is SCI, but look at the volume and the full history.  Also consider that each funeral  burial or cremation needs to be paid for. Who is around during a pandemic to arrange  and pay for the company's services?  Look at the number of shorts. If there is a spike in the number of services and they don't get paid for plus there will necessarily be a downward spin following because  the people have already died it could become a double whammy no capacity to pay followed by no business of any kind for an extended period of time.

Be careful going into the packed markets, unless you want to catch this thing.

Well i have seen similar emotiCONS in many emails i've received from these online "services" saying i have just possibly won a large sum of $$$ if i only complete their bogus survey, and then have to purchase some "deal" just to qualify?? In other words...these emails/posts or whatever are NOT something that should make you trust someone/anyone and what they are saying or "selling"...period!

My daughter went shopping today ( she really is a shopaholic ) and says she was able to get everything she wanted and shelves are starting to fill up again  so all the panic  buyers have probably got enough to last till the end of the century
