point taken but their is the issue of trust and faith in an all knowing powerful God

I trust that all knowing and powerful God AND ...

...I take my medications for my epilepsy.  He provided that for me TO take.  If I stopped my meds and said "I'm going to stop trusting God by stopping the meds He gave me and just need to trust God blindly and in my own interpretation." - I would be a inane fool.

...I wear my seatbelt as directed by law.  I don't joy ride on the top of the car.  That would defy law and tempt God.

...I obey my governing authorities as the Bible I am to do and as the Bible says are for my good.  They have said to stay home, with very few exceptions, so I obey.

It's only for a limited time that we are confined to our homes just as it was a limited time that the children of Israel were confined by God to their homes in Exodus and Isaiah.

You said we have to lay our hands on people in their homes to heal the sick.  That's just ONE way God asks us to intercede with sick people.

Prayer is also a huge key.

To leave our homes now and to enter the homes and hospital to lay hands on people with COVID-19 is NOT a sign of trusting God.

It's a sign of disobeying God by disobeying the authority He established here and it's a sign of foolishness.

Trusting God is not recklessly flinging yourself into danger, disobedience to His word, or leading yourself by your own understanding or stubborn opinion.

You are being ridiculous and I am not engaging with such nonsense.

Dear sister, ...all I'm doing is using good listening skills and repeated back to you in my own words what I "thought" I heard you say so that I will know if I'm understanding you correctly.

The title of this thread is "Social distancing?, Not in my Bible."

Well neither is "Social shaming," in "my" Bible, ..."shaming" a brother or sister because they have been taught by the Holy Spirit to walk with their Lord in different way than the ones doing the "shaming."

The Holy Spirit gave us "how" we are to walk in Faith with Him.

...the just shall live by his faith. Hab 2:4

Apparently, ...He considered it "so" important to/for us that He wrote three commentaries on the verse.

The Book of Romans explains to us "who" are the just.

The Book of Galatians explains to us "how" the just are to live.

And the Book of Hebrews explains to us "what" our faith is to be like.

All three of those books contain the verse from Habakkuk, ......the just shall live by his faith.

Dear sister, my Bible says, By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.  John 13;35

Lord bless and may our Father and our Lord keep you safe, secure and healthy in their hands.

We are not God,  so comparing the actions of Jesus with a normal fallible human being is just plan not working for me.

Let's look at an well known example of social distancing in the bible.

Numbers 5:2
English Standard Version
2 “Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp everyone who is leprous  or has ja discharge and everyone who is kunclean through contact with the dead.

Deuteronomy 24:8
8 In cases of defiling skin diseases, be very careful to do exactly as the Levitical priests instruct you. You must follow carefully what I have commanded them.

Leviticus 13:45-46 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
45 “The leper who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry, ‘Unclean, unclean.’ 46 He shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease; he is unclean; he shall dwell alone in a habitation outside the camp.

Online forums aren't in my Bible. Yet here we are.

What is in my Bible is respecting the authorities - and that includes the secular ones - that God has placed over us.

Romans 13

13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of him who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; he is the servant of God to execute his wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

Matthew 22:19-22 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

19 Show me the money for the tax.” And they brought him a coin.[a] 20 And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” 21 They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” 22 When they heard it, they marveled; and they left him and went away.

Matthew 23 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
Jesus Denounces Scribes and Pharisees
23 Then said Jesus to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat; 3 so practice and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do; for they preach, but do not practice.

Yes, Jesus healed Lepers.    Again, he is God.

"The disease was considered so revolting that the leper wasn’t permitted to come within 150 feet of anyone when the wind was blowing. Lepers lived in a community with other lepers until they either got better or died. This was the only way the people knew to contain the spread of the contagious forms of leprosy."

One issue with this particular virus.. is that even when people are infected or infectious..... they might not necessarily be displaying any symptoms yet or possibly at all.....

So even if one thinks one is not sick....  one might actually be infectious or carrying the virus.....and unintentionally spread the virus to others.. potentially causing the death of some.... especially those in high risk categories....

Or in other words it is not just about protecting ourselves.. but also about protecting others....  even those we might not have even met.. (since we could potentially give the virus to someone... who then gives it to someone else... etc)

Where in faith in God

The scriptures declares with out faith it is impossible to please him.

Jesus did say to visit the sick. (Mathew25)

However I would like to make a few points. One is that the corona virus is highly contagious. If you were to meet someone who is contagious, you would almost certainly get it and become infected. And if you went to visit someone else who wasn't infected yet, they could catch it and possibly die themselves. Yes Jesus did heal those with leprosy and a fever. But leprosy isn't actually that infectious. You would have to meet someone who has it multiple times in order to be at risk of getting it. The corona virus on the other hand would infect you pretty much the first go. Then if that happened you would become a danger to everyone you meet. Now granted, if you wanted to help at the hospitals and spend your time with people who are already sick and you feel like God is telling you to do it. Then by all means do it. The doctors and nurses are doing just that. But this is a case where staying away from people is more helpful than visiting them. And ask yourself, are you doing it to do God's will? Or because of your religious pride? If you just assume that God is going to give you divine protection and therefore you don't need to take extreme precautions, then you'll be more of a danger to people and yourself than any help.

:) hi all. I pray you and your family are doing "Awesomely" in Jesus name. Pfft. I thought I just made up that word.. NOPE! leprosy... did you know there are men and women of God that visit those that have leprosy and don't protect them self's at all. They touch them hold them hug them. There not on TV no famous minster. Seems some just believe as Jesus taught. So its not WHY are not so and so not healing.. but WHY aren't you? Its Christ in you.

Tiny background.. Married over 35y 2 kids. Yet I LOVE still being ALONE haha. Always been like that. What comes to mind is a very close pastor friend.. we use to talk every day. Found in my bible where he wrote "Danny needs others" :)

I think we forget just WHO we are. Well there is no time and space with our Father. So YOU being there and ME being here we can pray agree as one as if we were together. That has SO MUCH POWER. that power from the sweet holy Spirit. Prayer.. wanna see things get done? Be in prayer 24/7

Peter was set free by God.. an angel. And when he knocked on the door.. what would have been your 1st thought? yeah.. not Peters angel. We've changed. God didn't just.. hmm think I will set Peter free. No.. they were praying. See someone some where is ALWAYS praying...for you :) May not know your name but in the Spirit He knows. Hmm no clue why I went this way lol

We need to come together as one. With Jesus in front.. all our attention on Him. We I think should be always praying :) Is it not written He always hears the righteous? Hello US! And answers before we even finish praying? Hello! Did you know when Christ talked about that light..don't hind it under a bed and such.. did you know its real? Have you not like me had someone.. well at collage out side watching this black and white movie where someone comes up and says "your a Christian aren't you?" "Yes.. how did you know?" "theres just something about you"

That LIGHT is in you. Its real.. and the world can really see it. They see it but don't know what it is.. praise GOD glory to Jesus. So.. raise your hands and praise Him.. thank Him in ALL things.. if we could come in one accord and believe

lock down church because its non essential service ? but leave the licker stores open as essential services the contradiction and darkness of unsaved men

How many people have been abused, killed, murdered, crippled , left with broken homes. and ruined lives due to alcohol. Countless billions throughout the generations.

The true spirit filled church has done the opposite and has offered a great service to the community. Converting, murders, thieves , prostitute's. sodomites, Muslims, Catholics, gang members, drug addicts, drunks the list can go on and on..Its not recognized by the world but is noted by Christ and the triune God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
