I and the Father are one.

John 10:22-42 English Standard Version (ESV)

I and the Father Are One

At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter,  and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”  Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me,  but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.  I and the Father are one.”

The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”  The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”  Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?  If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—  do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?  If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;  but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”  Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.

He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained.  And many came to him. And they said, “John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.”  And many believed in him there.

A lot of people don't seem to like, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matt 4:17)

Jesus is the only way to God.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. (WE B)

PS. This is also one of the great "I am" statements of Jesus.

People have already mentioned the most “hated” being that Christ is the only way to God.

I would say the most confusing is His teaching about “what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven.”

The most abused and taken out of context is turning the other cheek and not judging.

Its the teaching of "justification by Faith" Alone.  Its the Teaching that Jesus as God, died to save you for FREE, using His shed blood on a Cross, and its a FREE GIFT of Salvation.

This is the most hated Truth, that "Grace" is a God Given Righteousness, that is FREE, and you dont earn it, or work to keep it.

This is the Grace of God, and its actually first presented in Genesis when God told the Brothers what to do to approach him, and Able brought Blood and was accepted and Cain brought harvested crops he'd worked to produce and God rejected Cain's WORKS and him, and accepted Able on behalf of another's BLOOD. (in that case it was not human blood).   CAIN was so envious, so filled with hatred because of this, that he murdered his brother.

Since that time, you have the "error of Cain", which is the Theology of Legalism, or "save yourself and keep yourself saved by self effort" that tries to kill the real Gospel of the GRACE of God, by denying and arguing against "justification by Faith" "the Gift of Righteousness".   You find this happening all over Christianity......Forums, TV, Pulpits.....etc.

So, this "redeemed by the blood" as Salvation......... instead of earning and keeping salvation by works, is the most hated and despised Bible Truth ever created, other then Jesus IS THE Messiah.

In Paul's day He and Jude both preached "justification by faith" alone, then  fought constantaly against the refusal by religious people to accept "the free GIFT of Salvation". as even then, you had Grace Rejectors (Legalism) out ranting and howling that you keep commandments and live holy To earn your salvation... and you  keep YOURSELF saved, by   your SELF EFFORT.

So, that is the most hated "controversy".. those 2.

The Catholic Church was built to RESIST "justification by Faith".  Their entire doctrine of salvation pretends to trust in Christ while proclaiming that water regenerates the soul and you have to do penance and die in a state of grace and keep the commandments.....to be saved. = works, works, works, works, works........

WE have hundreds of denominations in the world, and the reason is, most resist "the gift of Salvation" and "justification by Faith" alone...... and so, most denominations are built on rejecting the Grace of God as a "free Gift of Salvation"

Satan hated all of the teachings of Jesus.  So do the children of Satan to this day.  It is not worth the effort to pick a verse they hate the most.  But here's one that should bother them a bit, especially because it reveals exactly who they are in no uncertain terms.

Jno 8:41-47 If God were you're father, ye would love me, for I proceeded forth and came from God, neither came I of myself, but he sent me.  Why do you not understand my speech?  Even because you cannot hear my word.  Ye are of your father, the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own, for he is a liar, and the father of it.  And because I tell you the truth, ye beleiveth me not.  Which of you convinceth me of sin?  And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me?  He that is of God heareth God's words.  Ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
