Anything we don`t get what we want? Jesus cursed the fig tree for not giving Him fruit when it was NOT the time for figs. So is that what we are to do - curse when things don`t go our way?

Come on we really need to think deeper about this.

First, it certainly wasn't on a whim that Jesus did what He did, like He was surprised the tree had no fruit, like He didn't know what time of year it was. I don't know if you realize it or not but Jesus is the Creator of all things. This was a planned lesson not a fit of pique because 'something didn't go His way'. 

Second, Jesus literally explains when it's pointed out the tree is withered. He doesn't mention Jews or Gentiles but He does mention belief and prayer.

Third, it's beyond our scope to read into the text what does not appear. There are plenty of examples of the trouble within Israel in general and the religious leadership in particular, why not stick with those examples instead of making stuff up?

Fourth, I have read a couple of fantastic stories about all the circumstances surrounding this fig tree. It's amazing how a contemporary preacher, teacher, whatever; knows the time of day, that it was an orchard, that it was the only tree with leaves, that the tree  is the Jewish nation, that the curse was to remove the authority to preach the gospel from the Jews (Even though the Gospel was given by Jesus to the Jews exclusively, smh), and the fact that the fig tree had leaves means corruption, vainglory, pretension, spiritual death, lust of the flesh and arrogance, WHEN NONE OF THAT APPEARS IN THE TEXT!

 “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” - Mark 11

“How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” - Matt 21

Small wonder correction is coming for the people who claim to know their God.

Yes. We add unnecessarily to scripture and then ignore much of what the Lord and the apostles read. 

Simple really: if He had moved a mountain into the sea, no one would have said much except, OH, AN EARTHQUAKE..etc ad nauseum. So He picked a tree to demo His Divine Power. He has adopted us into His Kingdom and given us this power. Where do we actually use it? Or do we just make up fake doctrines and sell books about it.

Hi Diaste,

So agree with you. Yes Hebrews tells us that the Father made the worlds through Jesus. Wonderful.

Also, yes people do get into their wide imaginings with their own interpretation of God`s word.

And finally yes, the big mountain of doubt and unbelief, yes will go as we believe, have faith in the Lord and pray for others.
