Revelation 3:16 (NASB)
‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

The whole book of Revelations is about the witness and testimony of Jesus Christ...The bringing forth and the Glorification of Him in and by His body, His people...

This is the context that all the encouragements, warnings, need to be taken... For He says in Revelations itself, “those I love I reprove and discipline”...He does not cast away those He loves and discipline’s... Some will respond to this discipline more, some less, but what is at stake is the testimony and witness of Christ being manifested through that part of the body

Revelation 3:16, if you take it back to the Greek, says vomit, not spit. (G1692).  Though both refer to expelling something from the body, vomit gives you a better idea of how vile the taste is to Jesus.  Either way you care to look at the word, that person who does not repent will be expelled out of His mouth, no longer part of His body.  God is not mocked by our refusal to repent, as if He will overlook disobedience.  He Himself claims He will expel such a person from His mouth, no longer being part of His body, so to claim "He does not cast away those He loves and discipline’s" is in the same line as He does not cast people into Hell - those who are cast into the Lake of Fire, or are vomited out of His mouth, have to take responsible for their own actions of rejecting Jesus correction through the Holy Spirit.  The result is being cast away, a choice the person makes when they do not repent.  Jesus is not responsible for our actions, we are, which is why we do read that "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."   Notice that you left out the last part of verse 19 - "Therefore be zealous and repent."  That is His commandment to us.

Revelation 2:5 (NASB)
‘Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place--unless you repent.

It, once again is talking about the witness and testimony in a life being removed from out of its place, where it belongs...For the witness and testimony of Christ is the lamp stand, the shining forth of His light out from the believer....For Jesus does belong in each and every believer’s life.  But, because, for whatever reason a believer loses that witness and testimony shining through them does not mean that God has given up on them and turned them over to a reprobate mind....They as we all have experienced, as those that are His, we can repent, and turn back to Him... It might, will and does take time and obedience to get the witness and testimony of Christ shining back through our life’s once again...But as long as today is called today, we can grow in Him, and put the lamp stand back in it’s place and once again have the light of God shine through our lives. Why? Because we are part and parcel of His body and can never not be part of His body.

Continuing, let's look at what you wrote and I underlined so to focus on these words.

Jesus Himself tells us what the seven stars and seven golden lampstands are in Revelation 1:20

The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.

You stated that "For the witness and testimony of Christ is the lamp stand, the shining forth of His light out from the believer".  This makes Christ responsible for the actions of the church - He is not.  The church is responsible for their own actions, otherwise, how is a sinless Jesus suppose to repent from sin when He has no sin?

Let's examine the next statement you made: "For Jesus does belong in each and every believer’s life."  I do know what you mean, but you are placing the emphasis on the wrong body.  We first belong in Him as He is God, not the other way around.  In order to do so, He gives us the Holy Spirit.  In John 14:20 we read: "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you."  Notice the sequence of events: Jesus is in the Father; We are in Jesus; He is in us.  We can't skip steps here.

That last part of the underlined I agree with, but you do not explain bother sides of the coin, just one side.  Yes, repentance will restore our relationship, but what happens when there is no repentance on the sinners part?  What happens then, if someone refuses to repent when Jesus shows them their sin?

------------------

What do you say about Revelation 3:1-6 as Jesus speaks to the church of Sardis, especially verse 5?  Let's look at two examples where "blotted out", "erased" or :wiped away" is used, depending on what version you are reading from.  Each points to the same meaning found in G1813

Acts 3:19: "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, "

Revelation 3:5: "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels."

Both shows that something is erased, omitted, removed, wipe off, wipe away, obliterated.  We are all to happy to hear that our sins will be blotted out, why is it always rejected that Jesus will blot out someone from the Book of Life if they refuse to repent?

The idea that Jesus will blot out someones name from the Book of Life makes some here fully refuse the idea that scripture means what scripture says, but tries their very best to rationalize these words to mean something else besides what it says.  Does it mean that Jesus wants to blot out a name or is eager to separate someone from Himself?  Absolutely not!  All through scripture we find warnings against continuing in sin.  They are there for a reason, for us to repent.  For some, all these warnings, all the reproof from others in Him, are rejected and their heart becomes hardened in rebellion.

Understand this:  there is always a consequence if you do obey God and always a consequence if you refuse to obey God.  The choice is ours to make and we are responsible for our decisions.  To claim that God will turn a blind eye to unrepentant sin is a lie and a slap in the face to a Righteous God.

Galatians 6:7

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

@OneLight

Thank you for your thoughts...

If we look at the first verse of Revelations it says;

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ”

Everything after that, is describing in different ways the revealing of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, in creation as well as in creature....

I think the answer to this question;

What is salvation?

Will bring the understanding of what the Revelation of Jesus Christ is and what it consists of, where one will see, that it alone is the all of salvation and  everything in scripture is written for that purpose...

Be blessed in your growing and understanding of the Revelation of Jesus Christ..

A fellow servant of His, Not me

Most interesting, after I made the OP, I too had the thought that, as you brought forth, the cold were not spit out..

I think this is worth pondering before God, blessings to you for bringing it forward...

We do need to stay strong in Christ and grow in him.  All seven of the churches in Revelation are told to "overcome".  This means overcoming anything that diverts our love and service for Jesus.  And witnessing is our service to Jesus that establishes his Kingdom.  It is vitally important.  The Spirit of God is unleashed by our witnessing, and the Spirit of Jesus empowers our witnessing.

We are in the last days and Jesus will empower our witnessing with his Spirit in amazing ways.

Joe 2:28-29.  And it shall come to pass afterword, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughter's shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.  And also upon the servants and upon the handmaid's in those days will I pour out my Spirit.

I always associate the Spirit of God with life itself, as when God breathed Adam into life.

Gen 2:7.  An the Lord God formed Adam of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils, and man became a living soul.

All of us breathe.  We all inhale air that keeps us alive.  But we all exhale too.  What is in us comes out as well.  If the Spirit of God is in us, it must be unleashed as well.  It flows into and out of us.

Jno 4:14.  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him, shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The Spirit of God is like a well.  When we draw on it to share with others, it springs right back up.  It is inexhaustible and eternal.

We are warned not to quench the Spirit.  The Spirit of God is alive and moving.  It is supposed to be shared.  It draws us together in the Kingdom of God in the name of Jesus Christ.  It is not to be kept in a bottle.

Jno 3:8.  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth, so is everyone that is born of the Spirit.

Let the winds of witnessing come to life.  Let God do the talking with the Spirit, as was the case with every author of the books in the Bible, and every servant of Jesus since their time.

Amen.

Why?

Because we are His, because we are saved, born again, born into His family, which family relationship can never be broken. Because just like when we were born into this world this birth can never be undone for it has happened the Eternal Divine nature, that is our second birth. Which is even more glorious and eternal, because it is His life born in us which it to can never be undone....

But it needs to grow in us, henceforth all the warnings, cautions, encouragements against not growing, falling out of our  place, the place we belong, where the light of God’s love shines through all His body fully. That the witness and testimony of Jesus Christ might be seen in our lives by all..

Blessings to all that are in His family, a brother in the faith, Not me

We can fall from a higher calling, but not from salvation. And even if we do fall many times, from things we were called to do, big deal! That is part of our training.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
