How'd you reach that conclusion? Michael Heiser?

.

Lots of reading study, especially the 'verboten' books that the reformation banished. Check out the second temple literature. There is a lot of it; and the Qumran texts.

Right. Michael Heisler kind of stuff. Extra-biblical sources often written from a pagan point of view.

.

If you do not understand the Deut 32 worldview you will not understand 'pagan' etc and from whence it comes.

Also read all this and others from here.

1. Is Satan a Defeated Foe?

Yes, he was defeated 2000 yrs ago when Jesus rose from the dead.

No, the devil is just as powerful as ever.

While the answer in the first checkbox would be the obvious correct one, there is a little problem on the time sequence of this. The answer is clearly here.

Isaiah 14:12 KJV 12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

We also have these scriptures of references.

Ezekiel 28:12-19 12Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hath sinned, therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

So you see, Lucifer blew it a long time ago and defeated prior to that of being two thousand years ago. Still, the first answer is more correct in every sense of both questions of choice.

I do like this passage and am looking forward to this day.

Revelation 20:10 KJV 10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

And why am I looking forward to this particular event you may ask? Because, throughout my entire lifetime, he's given me nothing but grief, harassments, attempts on my life and tried to take it, accidents, disease, mental anguish, beaten me down senseless, and a whole bunch of other things. He's gonna get it, and get it really good!

If you do not understand the Genesis 1:1 worldview then you will not understand Deut. 32 and from whence it comes. Jesus repudiated the Jewish view of Sheol. That website is very questionable.

If you cannot respect scholarship and follow me around repudiating my posts, then your ideas do not hold much weight. In fact, I suggest you do some study and stop looking for problems, but rather look for solutions. Most of the Israelis you seem to look down on knew by heart the LXX and original Hebrew texts. They were not upstarts...

Ad hominem. Red herring. False cause. Straw man. Noted as such and ignored accordingly.

Jewish theology was often mistaken according to Jesus. Given a choice between Jesus, misbegotten areas of Jewish theology, or pagan sources, or faux scholars like Spong or the anonymous "Admin" I'll choose Jesus. Those particular posts referencing pagan sources warrant repudiation and this becomes profoundly clear when after being confronted the poster is attacked personally. I have no problem with "Israelis." No one said anyone was an "upstart."

Ad hominem. Red herring. False cause. Straw man.

If the cap fits...

Yeshua means God is Salvation. And the ancient mesopotamian 'pagans' recorded much that is later transcribed and changed by the Ancient Hebrew Scholars and then attributed to Yahweh. "The God of gods".

It is a good idea to read that.

Jewish theology was never as destructive as Augustine, Luther or Calvin. To name but a few. Some appear to uphold a cause that is but their own jaded take. That is OK. It is a free country (at present). Those that survive in strife will find that it seeks them out because it is an insatiable raison d'etre.

Demons are NOT the fallen heavenly beings or the already judged 'sons of God'.

Demons are the disembodied spirits of dead Nephilim. They are small fry and allowed to harass us.

The 'principalities and powers' are many times more lethal and run the territorial wickedness in high places. Originally put in charge over the nations, Deut 32, yet they failed and entrapped humans and were judged in Psalm 82 to 'all die like men'.

It is very sad that today, no one seems to teach about the supernatural. In Yeshua's day all this was well known and the apostles refer to it frequently in their writings.

Where does the Bible say any of this?

Read the LXX and countless other scriptures that Yeshua and the apostles knew well. Your abridged protestant canon is careful to leave out lots of things.

In this age of discovery and scholarship we have no excuse for not being well taught and well informed.

You stick with that, Justin.

You've just turned the corner: your own posts have just become my best argument against the position asserted.

Check out the Augustine (AKA RCC) and Calvin and even Luther (Holocaust) and see how many millions they killed. Christians, Israelis, Blacks, Gypsies, any non-aryan or those that did not accept their teachings and a) dared to read scripture and b) did not like the papist world and the autocratic so-called Christian pogroms that ensued.

I just read part of the linked article.  The following quote told me all I need to know, "...even a light reading of the OT will supply the reader with any number of historical and scientific falsehoods.".  The author of the article clearly does not have a clue; but does have unbelief.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
