I Got reprimanded by @Alive for a comment I made regarding this very topic, so in response I want to post this here for all to see from the mouth of someone else other than myself that my insinuation is not off base, and crude but based on personal experience and the experiences of many Saints called to serve God.

__________

Who told you you are unworthy -- no good, useless, unusable to God? Who keeps reminding you you're weak, helpless, a total failure? Who told you you'll never measure up to God's standard?

We all know where this voice comes from: It is the devil himself! He's the one who keeps you convinced God is angry with you. You hear his lies all day long -- and they come straight from the pits of hell!

Who tells choir members they're not worthy to sing praises in God's house? Who tells musicians they're not worthy to play instruments of worship? Who tells elders, ushers, Sunday school teachers, volunteers, people in ministry, people in their pews they are unworthy? Who reminds them of every sin and failure, accusing them: "You have unclean hands, an impure heart! You have no right to touch the holy things of God. You are a disgrace to the Lord!"

That is the hounding voice of the devil -- the accuser of the brethren! He tells you, "God can't use you until you sit down and get this thing figured out. You can't even come into his house until you've made yourself worthy!"

Many people are reading this message right now who have been convinced by the devil they are unworthy ever to be used of God. Does this describe you? Perhaps you feel unworthy even to be called a child of the Lord. When you look at your spiritual life, all you see is inconsistency. And the enemy keeps sending a constant barrage of lies at you -- reminding you of your failures, always harassing your spirit.

Now you've begun to think, "I love the Lord with everything that's in me. But there are still failures in my life! I'm not a consistently faithful servant. I still have to battle great temptations, things that discourage me. I'm never going to measure up. I'll never be what God wants me to be -- and what I want to be!"

Let me stop here and confess something to you: I have never once, in all my years of ministry, felt worthy of my high calling as a preacher! Throughout my service to the Lord, I have been barraged by accusations that I am unworthy to speak for God -- unworthy to preach, to teach others, to be a leader.

Yet I don't know of any sincere Christian ever used by God who hasn't experienced this. William Bradford, the great Puritan minister, said, "I think sometimes I have the blackest heart in all of Europe." He kept hearing the accusation that he was completely unworthy. And every time he spoke or preached, something churned in his stomach -- an anxiety, a fear, a trepidation about standing before people. That great preacher felt an incredible sense of unworthiness!

Of course, in our flesh we are unworthy. We can never be worthy on our own. But many believers allow Satan to rob them of precious life by believing his lies about how God sees them. They believe they can never be worthy in his sight.

Whenever such downcast Christians hear strong preaching against sin and compromise, they immediately fall under condemnation. They think, "I'm still weak. I don't have total victory. I'm stuck in a continual warfare!"

Then another thought comes flooding in: "You must sit down -- drop out of all service -- until you get things right. If you continue trying to do God's work and worship while you're in this struggle, you'll be judged!"

Occasionally, pastors have to ask church workers to "sit down" for a season -- that is, to set aside their ministry duties -- in order to put certain aspects of their life in order. At Times Square Church, we do this when someone is blind to his sin and doesn't see it's wrong. And sometimes we have to do it when a person is living in open, flaunted sin, with no sign of repentance. That has to be dealt with.

But I'm talking about something else entirely -- something every Christian must deal with. The fact is, if every child of God listened to the accusations of the devil, all ministries would have to shut down completely! There would be no church -- because there would be no one to stand in the pulpit, no one to sit in the choir loft, no one to usher, no one to teach Sunday school -- and no one in the pews! We all would be lied out of the blessings of God -- and the Lord wouldn't get any of the praises he ought to have from us.

Who is worthy to be on the cross at Calvary? Whose blood is soaked up by the earth from which all  of mankind came by God's hand and breath? Whose blood so soaked up  can pay the price of sin against God the Father and still His just wrath?

Who is worthy?

I do not know/remember of what yourself and Alive discussed concerning our worthiness.
My worth is in my creator redeemer savior, who suffered and died for me and whosoever will.
In my belief Christ lives in me, not I but Christ. His blood covers me, and the Father sees His worthiness.
My future destination is determined by His worthiness, and not my attempt to be worthy.
I may strive to be counted worthy to my calling, laying up treasures or not.
But the finished work is Christ's alone.
My hope is to hear the words 'Well done" some day, even while experiencing doubts from the enemy in my mind.

Concerning feelings of unworthiness, I relate 100% to David Wilkerson's quote above, dh.
And I thank you for this thread. I have always wanted to start a thread about those 'thoughts', and how they get there.
The ones I have to take captive, examine, and cast out saying 'that's sin', and differentiate from actual spiritual convictions.
I blame no sin on the world-flesh-devil. When I sin, I sin. I miss God's mark or standard. His holiness.
It is a (spiritual) battle for the mind. And the enemy appears to gain entry to it.
And bring darkness with it. When I was saved, it was the light of salvation that was put into my mind, and chased out the darkness.
The light of the gospel exposed the darkness in my mind, I changed my thinking (repented) And Jesus saved me.
All done in my mind, through the hearing of the "word'. "Words"-communication-data- beliefs/or not.
Any one who has experienced combat knows those who are on the line, actively engaging the enemy, are more likely to be wounded.
Not those sitting in the rear (pews), but are loyal faithfully sharing light in the dark dark world.
And the enemy knows this, and has a squad or a platoon ready to engage a faithful believer.
He leaves non combatants alone, so they can point fingers at their fellow soldiers who have been wounded.
Our spiritual weapons found in scripture, highlights one, 'Above all, the shield of faith'
The enemy was defeated at the cross. I can do all things through Christ,
and He who is in me is stronger than he who is in the world. Building up, strengthening this shield.
A constant battle, and I review it daily each evening with God, recounting losses, and praising God for victories.
I have those thoughts, and I believe any soldier in the army of Christ has them, to the extent of their engaging the enemy.
Thus the importance of " thy word (light) have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against thee"
More light (truth), less darkness (untruth-lies).
The more I download true data, light of the word, the better I recognize false data, lies.
The enemy is the father of lies, and deception. But...
God is light.....

"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

A Question was posed by another Poster here as what makes that person worthy to say what they say in their OP because of their lack of "credentials". I Pointed out that this question is straight from the Devil's handbook.... apparently some did not like that and were offended by this response, @Alive then proceeded to report and reprimand my comments in this regard.

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”

And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever,  the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”

Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals.  And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?”  And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it,  and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.  And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne.  And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.  And they sang a new song, saying,

“Worthy are you to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation,
and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth.”

Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,  saying with a loud voice,

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”

And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”

And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph. 6:11-12)

Have you ever been attacked by the Devil? Have you experienced his buffetings? Are you being attacked now? Chances are, You are and do not even Know it.

Hence, the most important thing to do now is to clearly identify our enemy. We have to know definitely who our enemy is, who it is that causes us to suffer. Many times, we think that we have been taken advantage of by men. But the Bible tells us that "our wrestling is not against blood and flesh but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies" (Eph. 6:12). Hence, every time we suffer at the hands of men, we have to remember that behind the men of flesh Satan and his dark powers are there directing. We should have the spiritual sight to discern between God's work and Satan's hidden schemes. We should differentiate between the natural and the supernatural. We should be mature and acquire spiritual knowledge so that nothing of Satan's work in the dark will escape our observation.

I am going to leave this thread up, but lock it for now because I am pretty sure that criticism of Mods in public, is against the terms.

This thread doesn't bother me personally--but I have a responsibility to uphold.

It may be unlocked after a while.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
