I wonder if they picked it up somewhere before getting the shot. If that happens the vaccine won't work.  Anyway my kid got all the vaccines and nothing weird happen so I don't know. Life is strange sometimes.

The flu vaccine contains no living flu cells.  It's an inactive [dead] thing.  Your body sees it, thinks it's alive - and builds antibodies for it.

You may be allergic to something in the vaccine, but you cannot catch the flu from the flu shot.  Sometimes, while your body is building antibodies - you may feel bad.  I got REALLY sick once and even passed out two days after a flu shot.  But that was not the flu - I had a reaction to something in it.  

I take the flu shot every  year.  Right now - there is no Covid vaccine.

I'm not saying that you AREN'T sensitive to medicines - if  you say you are, then you are  - I'm just saying you cannot catch the type of flu that matches the flu shot you were given.  The flu cells would have to multiply like mad and they can't.  They are dead.
