Struggle with sin?

Because most are petrified of being exposed for the sinful people we are. "They won't accept me. They won't love me." Thank you Roy for that transparent and needed question. "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed," James says. The common denominator of all men is that we are fallen, broken people. Many Christians have built great walls around them, sealing themselves off, not only apart from one another, but God Himself. I guess Roy, people must not believe they sin---or they don't want to confess it, pray for one another, and be healed. 

Having said that, it is important to find a small group of friends that you relate to, who are willing to be honest, who really do want God to heal them. It is not wise to share these things with the world who will use it against you. There are some here who have, and do share specific sins, and only a few respond out of humility, recognizing that they are no different. But many here are bluffing. I can tell you I sin, and you are so right to say that it is a battling---a wrestling---"...every hour of every day." The man who says he doesn't sin God calls a liar. 

I can tell you that I have a "mentor"---an older, mature-in-Christ gentleman who I pray with regularly. We talk about our sins, we confess them in prayer together before God. We call one another and talk about the Lord and our lives. We spend time with one another and find delight in what real fellowship means. 

Thank you Roy. You are one of the more honest ones.

Struggle ? Sin came from the habit of a little sin.

People peek porn a little, people peek a little more n moooore.

People drink a little, people drink a little more n moooore.

People lie a little, people lie a little more n moooore the world is full of liars.

N people just sin a little more n moooore

What is sin to you? Maybe sin to you is not sin to someone else. Something to consider. Shalom.

What is righteousness? How do you get righteousness? Its right standing with God. You get it from believing in Jesus. Do you see? This is how the Father sees you...through Christ. The Father is faithful to what the Son has already done/finished. Sin.. 24/7 heart convicts of sin. But.. you are in right standing with the Father now. We have no right to sin. Our focus should be on Him not the sin. Forgive your self.. you pray you repent He is faithful and just to forgive and cleans us from all unrighteousness. See your self through HIS eyes not flesh.

Thanks TB for this. I think with many people struggle with is in your line of “you repent“. Many want to follow Jesus and God and to be the first half of the equation is what you state believing. But the second half of the equation is repentance and obedience. It seems to me that repentance and obedience are two sides of the same coin. In my life I “believe“ for many many years but did not change my behavior towards my weekly sins. It wasn’t until I committed to really repent for the blessings of God flowed in my life.
 This is just one man’s journey and not saying it is how it is for everybody.
 Would be interested in your and others thoughts on believing vs repentance.

Perhaps some Christians have their sin pretty much under control. Perhaps others sin but won't admit it.

A became a Christian in May of 2019 and i decided to do everything right as a christian should. Leaving nothing out. However, i struggled with strong doubts and porn/masturbation. After about a year i managed to stop the doubts by thinking about every doubt i had and finding a satisfactory answer to it, in my own mind. However, its been 15 months now since my conversion and i'm still struggling with porn/masturbation. I don't know how to conquer it. I hate myself for it, to be honest. But after 1-2 or 3 weeks the urges just flip a switch in my head and i do it. Then i feel bad afterward. I don't know how i'm going to conquer it. I pray everyday to be delivered. For God to show me the way out so i can endure it that he promised in the bible and to strengthen me with the holy spirit. Sigh.

I really want to be right with God....

Speaking for myself, I struggle everyday with sin. The walk of going from a 'babe' in Christ to a mature Christian doesn't happen overnight, it seems it's a willful training of our minds and process, we are all born with a sin nature. Without Christ, our flesh it weak. Not only do we struggle with the desires of our flesh and our sin nature, we're also subject to:  Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 

Ever heard the saying "the Devil made me do it?" I suspect one of the many reasons for the thousand year millennial reign of Christ, where Satan and his minions are chained and locked away during this time is... To show that humanity has no excuse about sin and can't blame it strictly on the powers of darkness. That we are still born as sinners and need a Savior and are still without excuse.
