You believed it would because of the promises in the scriptures and so, you continued praying and believing for years...and yet, you never saw any changes whatsoever in your circumstances. Did you continue to walk by faith or just accepted it for what is was, realizing that it may never change?

I knew/know that it is nothing for God to heal her but to spite me asking for some time it just didn't happen... well to make a long story short one day I just lost it.... went out into the back yard and raised my voice to God.... Actually I shook my fist in his face and actually screamed at him for a good ten minutes.... I ended my rant with something like, "well if you won't heal her at least tell me why." Well a feeling came over me that I can't describe and I heard a voice just as real as if it came from in front of me and it quietly said in a very loving way, "That's between her and me Sam; and it's really none of your business." Well, what do you say to that.... after I stopped crying I went back inside and told my wife I loved her and I'd always be there for her... 30 years later, here we are... she still has trouble getting around and can't stand the heat.... but we've had a super life and marriage and hoping for another 20 years or so if the beast doesn't get us. 3 3 1 1

But my own experience is somewhat different, in that i once knew a girl MANY years ago who i am now convinced had loved me at the time, but at that time in my life i was a totally self-centered fool and ended up rejecting her. But NOW i realize she was very likely the only girl who ever truly would have loved me, and that i do in fact LOVE her now for that. So with that said, I have learned to accept that and my own mistake so many years ago, even though still not certain it was God's will for us to be together...but i at least do know now it can never be changed what has already past, period. But as far as the promises in scripture, even some jerk like me can tell you that they are always in the NOW and God is ever present, and whatever has been withheld from you is most likely for your own good, especially if you are constantly praying ONLY for God's perfect will to be done in your life. Yep. Everyday. But, I refuse to give up! 41 minutes ago, love child said: Has anyone here ever prayed for something or someone in specific, believing for a change, that never happened? But, when thinking back over the countless years, I am beginning to realize in some way there is a purpose, plan, and reason for it all. I believe the Lord wants to use these unfortunate situations and circumstances for an ultimate plan I don't fully comprehend as of yet. Speaking of this, let me bring up the words to a classic hymn and tune traditionally arranged by folk and country rock band, The Byrds. It's called, Farther Along. Farther Along The Byrds Tempted and tried we're oft made to wonder Why it should be thus all the day long While there are others living about us Never molested though in the wrong [Chorus] Farther along we'll know all about it Farther along we'll understand why Cheer up my brother live in the sunshine We'll understand it all by and by When death has come and taken our loved ones It leaves our home so lonely and drear And then do we wonder why others prosper Living so wicked year after year [Chorus] When we see Jesus coming in glory When he comes down from his home in the sky Then we shall meet him in that bright mansion We'll understand it all by and by [Chorus] Yeah we'll understand it all by and by 1 1

Often times I feel alone and carrying a load that I think is way too heavy for me, but I know God in in the mist of all that goes on in my life. I am not worried, per se, just concerned about how the rest of my life will be played out with this one concern I have. Not one to complain, but I am just worn out by obedience. But will continue to fight...knowing I have a greater reward in the end.

My reason for continuing to fight is for a specific thing God whispered to me in a quiet moment. Not for selfish reasons purely, although, I will benefit from it, too. I know why I am fighting and for what reasons...please don't misconstrue that.

I merely wanted an honest reply...and I got that. With that being said, I will end this conversation with you and you can think whatever it is you want if it brings peace unto you. Ok. God bless.
