Uhhhh this involves actual kids......it is not expression like a piece of art. This movie is evil and should not have any excuses made for it.  So they are making REAL KIDS twerk. Come on here of all places I wouldn't expect to see excuses for it.

I think we are all in agreement on here that this is a bad movie.  I don't see anyone here saying it is not.

And that is a point.  I can say for myself that I have never had any porn or anything like that on my computer ever.

And for me.... and this is just me apparently... My internet company is not funding directly, or indirectly, pedophilia.  The company is not sponsoring sexualizing 11-year-olds, nor are they defending it.

The internet provider is only engaged in one thing... providing internet.

To say we shouldn't have the internet because you could if you choose, use it to look at underage girls in whore outfits.... is like saying you could use a car to drive to a strip club, or you could use a car to run people over and murder them.

By that logic, no one should own a car?

Because all through this entire ridiculous Covid-19 freak out over a sneeze shut down... I've been going to church online... over the internet.

How you use the internet does matter, just like how you use your car matters.... do you agree?

Of course. But I use Netflix for family-friendly reasons. Sure, it's a specific company that is actively putting this show on for it's viewers (I read the movie won an award in a film festival in Europe somewhere). But they have already, and continue to, put on various adult-oriented soft core stuff, violent movies and all sorts of other less than Christian media.

I suppose we can argue about the responsibilities of our ISP's to allow certain content and storage of that content on their servers. That is arguably enabling the porn industry.

A couple years ago, History Channel (the Canadian version anyway) was showing Top Gun (???). That channel went off the rails years ago.

Yeah. I remember when it really was a history channel. And Discovery channel had science stuff. TLC was a learning channel. They use to show real surgery being done. That was seriously cool. Now it is all reality tv.  Even MTV isn't about music anymore.  :20:

Too many channels with not enough content. I suspect those good science, history and other quality shows cost money which the ad revenue just could not keep up with.

Yeah it did win an award, which is insane.

As for enabling the porn industry... should we boycott cameras?  Should we boycott printers?  Should we boycott magazines?  Should we boycott paper?  Should boycott trucks?

If you want to talk about enabling.... there are millions of things that enable the porn industry, that we use on a routine daily basis.

If you want to go that route... then logically you would need to become Amish.  That's the only way to avoid using anything that could be used to enable porn.

This is why we have to rationally determine where to draw a line.

The line for me, it is when my money goes to something that DIRECTLY funds or supports, something that is pure evil.

As I said before, my problem with Netflix isn't that this movie ended up on their service.  My problem is that once they were confronted with the undeniably fact that this is unambiguous sexualizing of 11 year old girls, in prostitution outfits.....  they defended it.  This is horrific to me.

I don't know how as a Christian, that I can give the money G-d gave to me, to a company that is openly going to support pedophilia.

I'm a bit confused how sexualized pre-teen/teen girls in a movie equals a company endorsing pedophilia.  Have Netflix executives said that? Is this display going to cause men to suddenly be inappropriately attracted to young girls? It just seems there is a category error going on here.

Perhaps we should use a missle to take out those servers. That would put an end to it real quick.

the way the internet is made you'd have to pretty much destroy the world.

Well said, LonerAndy.

When I was young in the faith (mid to late 1980s) no-one I knew would have tried to defend this (even unsaved people).  How things have degenerated...

who's defending the movie.....  most of us are just saying lets not cut our noses off to spite our face.

we just dvr everything we watch and fast forward through all the commercials.  they are pretty much all the same length.   4 minutes is 8 fast forward clicks and you can just look away for a bit.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
