Thanks DeighAnn! What do you think or how are we made in His image?

We have the two parts- dirt / body, and the air / spirit side.

How are these parts contributing to His image?

This doesn't seem to help, yet it does.

like angelic bodies.

Forgive me but that won't work... then I would have to ask you what are angelic bodies and ......

And by the way, this is exactly why there are many disagreements on this particular subject - it is not only quite complicated but in many ways impossible to put into words and comprehend just what this non-physical spirit thing is..

But I might offer would is also a very weak attempt to describe this "spirit body" that God breathed into Adam... If God is both body and spirit - and to this I look straight at Jesus - He was both body and spirit.... this means if we are made in His image - we are to look, feel, think, etc., all the same as Jesus did.... This does NOT mean we will become exactly like Jesus because He is God! But He made us in HIS IMAGE - a very unique creation LIKE Him but certainly not Him. The angels were NOT made like Him- they were not made in His image - they are not a "living soul".

So, what is this "spirit body" part of us?  It is a part of His essence or spirit that makes us this unique creation = There is absolutely nothing in God or part of God or anything to do with God that is anything BUT HOLY. So if God is going to breath something in Him it has to be good.... it must be special to make this piece of dirt special and not just like the animals that exist and breath air.....

If God breathed this "essence" of Him into Adam (and I believe He did), then the only thing that could affect this is WE were to introduce or bring near something this "essence" can not tolerate or exist with - and that one thing is sin!

And once Adam sinned, this "essence / spirit" from God could not exist any longer with Adam and it left him and returned to God.....

God now could no longer be in the presence of Adam since he had lost this God given "essence / spirit". He was removed from the Garden where sin can not accept.

Almost immediately, God designed a Plan where man COULD have this "essence / spirit" restored within him - Pentecost. No amount of good deeds or works or trying to obey His commandments will ever restore this "essence / spirit".... man can not give this to man... only God has the ability to make something Holy.... and this "essence / spirit" breathed into Adam was a part of God's Holiness - but we lost it!

So I would ask you for your thought on this - or anyone else's .... I am more than sure that I will be on a very small island here but that is okay... I am more than comfortable with this at this time..... Charlie

Ok and I think we are both standing at the same place and time in this discussion...

Ok so what do you believe this “spiritual body” is that God breathed into Adam?

God made man a spiritual being like him and put him in an earthly body, so man can live in the body and continue to live after the his body dies.

Man can live like his maker without his physical body.

When man dies physically he continues to live without the physical body, just like his maker who lived without a physical body.

Man at first was a spiritual being living in the physical body and in the Life of God.

But when Man disobeyed he continued to live without the Life of God in him.

That what departed from Adam when he disobeyed the Life of God.

But Adam still was a Spiritual being living in the body.

Co-existing with the Physical Man who one day the phycical man will die but the Spiritual man will continue to live but away from God because when Adam disobeyed God he change he stopped being alive to God and he began to be in death with the death Inheritance after death.

While man lived before he died he was a free agent and as he was in the death Inheritance he could worship and fellowship with God or God was free to offer his fellowship to man but this time from a distance because the bond man had with God was gone whith Adam's disobedience.

Man now was in death and not in the Life of God.

This is the fall from the life unto death.

He obeyed the one who had the sting of death, man became his captive.

Just like when we put a bait and we catch a fish and we take in our Captivity.

Man was taken captive by the Devil.

The devil did not make Man but he ended having in his possession the first couple and all their descendants after them.

The descendants of Adam inherited death from him, they were born in death.

While they live they were free to worship God and God could give his fellowship to man but when they died everyone were taken away from God to the place of the dead, even those who were close to God.  While they lived the lived unto God till the time when they died, at which time with their death Hades the God of the dead comes to Harvest them.

This can be seen in Abel, who was borned in death and lived unto God a self righteous man without any disobedience towards God but when he died God said that Abel is not with him.

I do not know if God has an image but regardless the Word didn't.

"The seed of the woman will crush your head and you will bruised his heel.".

The seed of the woman was a man with the Life of God in him.

The Life came into the world in the Likeness to Man born from the virgin Mary.

After Adam lost the Life of God at the time of his disobedience the only one left with the Life was his Creator God himself.

And when God said that "the seed of the woman will crush your Head and you will bruise his heel " that time God the Creator knew that this was said about himself knowing that at the right time he will obey God the Father and live everything to enter our world being born from Mary "the seed of the woman was the seed with the life of God "the one who breath his Life unto Adam, and his name was Jesus Christ the Son of the Heavenly Father ".

"The Light of the world".

Quick bits

Access to The Tree of life (bread of life)was cut off and the tree of life is required for the continuing of life.

Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever

Genesis 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Man  'regenerated'

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

In the day you eat of it you will die.  The 'day' a thousand years.  Methuselah lived to be 900 something, I think.  (more info for how long 'a day' is)

Being cut off from the tree insured 'death' of the flesh hence expulsion from the garden so that 'sin' could not have an eternal future.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

That is the second death,  proving after death in the flesh,  there is a body that has a soul.

Our flesh eyes were opened while our spiritual eyes were closed.

When our 'flesh' became sinful we lost the 'likeness' to God.

So WHO is the 'OUR'?

At the time of the creation of man God the Creator of Man and everything else did not have a body like Adam had.

But when he Created Man and before that he knew that the time will that he also will look like Adam and walk the earth like a man and in obedience to God he did not esteemed him self being God the Creator and humble himself to live every thing he had and be born from Mary after he was conceived by Mary and was carried in her womb the full gestation period of nine months and be born in Bethlehem.

He found himself as a man and started from the beginning the first Man being born from a woman with the Life of God in him. The one who had the Life from the beginning and who breath the Life in Adam now he is born in Bethlehem, now he is with a body for the first time. But he had to live as a man and die on the Cross as a man.

He had to be taught by the Angel Gabriel who he was before he was born and what his mission was the reason why he came to earth as a man to died on the Cross to redeemed man and earn a Heavenly Inheritance for Man and give man of his Eternal Life so man can be with God forever living without the fear of death.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
