Greetings~

Yes, the Silent Genocide is alive and well within the VA System. Some of you will remember how I had to write Congress, so I could have a Total Knee Replacement on my right leg. While I was attending many Doctor appointments I started to hear things that I didn't believe to be true. However, I found out many things were true about the operation of our VA systems.

Since April, my breathing hasn't be good. I thought I had lost my endurance strength. I went to the VA Doc, many times, telling him about this problem of mine. He ordered a breathing test and I took it. According to the results every thing was okay. Problem #1.

Problem #2 - For months the VA Doc has been telling me about my abnormal liver blood tests. This Doc didn't seemed concerned about it and I went along with him. BIG! BIG! HUGE! Mistake.

Problem #3 - Last year before I had my TKR on my left leg, I met with the head ORTHO. Doc of the Ann Arbor VA. He told me he wasn't going to do my surgery, he had found another Doc to do it. Doc Miller did want me to re-consider having the surgery because I had the start of a Heart Disease. Heart Disease I KNOW nothing about this. :emot-wave:

Problem #1 - Everything is not Okay. I went this week to a Doc in my home town.

I explained my breathing problem to him. He did a breathing test on me, I Failed.

I am now on an Advair inhalor. This inhalor cost me $188.00. I can't afford this monthly cost. Just proves how high the drug companies go here in the USA. ;)

All these short of breath attacks have been going on since April and know help from the VA. Pretty sad, oops I have Medicare insurance, this could be a reason. :24:

Problem #2 - Liver Tests - Not once did the VA Doc say, he should go the next step and find out what is causing these abnormal test results.I went along with his no concern attitude - another Big Mistake! Do I have a problem with my liver? My Rockford Doc read the blood tests from the VA I had taken for over the a year. All the liver tests were abnormal. Is there a problem? :noidea: ?One would think so!

Problem#3 - Heart Disease - I knew nothing about this, no one told me nothing until Doc Miller told me about it. Miller must have read the results from my heart catherization. I will know soon for the result letter is in the mail to me.

I am not dead yet however I do believe there is a silent genocide going on in the VA Systems.

Very often those expensive inhalers are NO MORE EFFECTIVE than a snufter or two of brandy every day. In fact, when my dad changed Doctors one time, the new Doctor was going over his medications and said if he wanted to he could replace his inhaler with a snufter of brandy two to three times a day. Dad did so (favoring cherry brandy over ventolin), and was much the better for it.

Hi!

I do not drink alcohal beverages. Three brandies aday and I would be in worsest shape then I am now.

Did you miss the idea that the VA system is alonging there Veteran patients to go unattended till it is too late. Then they tell them they only have 6 months to live.

This is the stand I am making.

Snow,

I have no idea what area of the country you are in. I entered the VA Health Care System back in 1995, and can say from my experience I won't go elsewhere. I have multiple disabilities that have me rated at 100% permanently disabled. Having the option of Tricare Prime or Medicare in addition to VA, I feel better served by my Primary Care Provider at our local CBOC. My appointments are timely, my providers listens to my concerns, and they are thorough in their approach to my overall health and well-being. I complained of shortness of breath and was immediately scheduled for respiratory challenge to determine it's cause (after an EKG to eliminate that possibility). If I have a crisis develop, the VA takes care of the bills for outside Emergency Room care, and has always had a bed available for me if needed, either in the VA hospital itself or in a local hospital (at their expense).

Granted, the VA has numerous problems, including funding, staffing shortfalls, and not all locales are as up to date (or up to snuff) as they should be. Better management in some cases and better funding in others couldn't hurt! :P

I have a friend in British Columbia who has prostate cancer. He stayed for three weeks at a particular hospital and suddenly my friend realized that they were trying to kill him. He changed hospitals and the current hospital is doing a far better job. My friend doesn't know if he will survive but he says he's being treated alot better now. It appears as though some hospitals are willing to just write some people off to save money. I think my father was sent to an early death as well. His doctor gave him 6 months to live and put him in the hospital. They gave him a morphine drip and he was dead 2 weeks later. Not a heck of alot of compassion for the family either.

I'm getting angry just thinking about it.

Oh you guys.. I am so sorry for all of your problems.... I have to be honest that i dont' think it is just VA but MD too.. if not other states ...

My dad had gotten terrible pains in his stomach and back. The doctors at MANY differnt hospitals said he was fine.. that he would be alright... We had gone to differnt hospitals even one that was 2 hours away(now his favorite hospital). One morning in November he was rushed into the hospital because he said it felt as though someone jabbed a sharp knife in him.. he knows what that feels like. His intestines had ruptured because he had diberticulitus. If he had gone into surgery even two hours later as my dad had expected to wait to go to the hospital, he woudl have died...

My mom has had really bad headaches for awhile and they put her on medication because of it. This medication messed with her head so much that we all almost died enough times in the car with her driving. She was taken off one and put on another becuase the doctors were so inexperienced. Finally, she went to the sleep clinic and was diagnosed with sleep apnea.. which she could have died from during the time of her getting all this medication...

One more thing.. my brother, when he was little, was almost killed because the doctors tried to treat him without diagnosing him... he know has some form of social disorder and cant' join the marines as had been his life long dream...

I understand the thing about doctors.. but i don't think it is just in VA.. VA might have it worse than here.. but i assure you it is everywhere...

*not standing up for VA*

I could be wrong, but when I read the original post, I assumed that 'VA' stood for 'Veterans Administration' rather than for Virginia.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
