Repentance on its own won't do it.

You need to be born again, repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.  These are all gifts from God.  When you have been given them, you know that you are in fellowship with the Lord, in your spirit; but you, as a whole, will not enter heaven until the resurrection.

This call to repentance was within the old Covenant.  If it did some good the good was within the old Covenant and the culture they live in regardless of any covenant.

*******

In the new Covenant the call is to believe as you are.

It is a call to accept your self as one is.

It is to invite anyone to believe as they are, in what ever situation everyone is.

It is not to degrade and humiliate any one with all those unnecessary and distorted calls for repentance.

Jesus is the one who calls people to repentance and he knows the right time and the  right thing to ask to repent for.

Jesus Christ is calling people to believe before they repent, even without repenting he wants them to believe.

He wants to count the believers in his camp with or without repentance.

This is the Gospel to an unbeliever.

Believe in Jesus Christ who died for the forgiveness of our sins, and be happy and rejoice that ones sins are forgiven.

Rejoice together with the Angels in Heaven who rejoice when someone believes.

And why the Angels rejoice, it is that this person will be with them in Heaven.

One more for Heaven one more the Devil cannot have.

Repentance is a necessary ingredient if you want to have peace of mind.

The Lord saves you -fixes the messes you get yourself into - but expects you to learn from your mistakes. There is no lasting peace till we repent of our sin.

This sounds like "easy believism", in which you supposedly believe in the Lord, without turning from sin to God.  This is one of the worst false teachings in the Church and it leads to people claiming to be Christians, who are living like the devil. Repentance and faith always go together.

Acts 2:36-39 (WEB)

36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”

Acts 3:14-19 (WEB)

14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,

Acts 8:18-23 (WEB)

18 Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,
19 saying, “Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20 But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!
21 You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.
22 Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”

etc., etc.

Well, if we turn to the Lord and ask for his help, he'll rescue us from the messes we make of our lives, with our sin. But then he expects us to learn from our mistakes. If we persist in our sin, his discipline can be quite severe. Yes?

Yes; but, this is about a Christian's life, after repentance/faith.  I was talking about the need for repentance, in order to become saved.

In the beginning we sin and get ourselves in to messes. We don't even know our messes are the result of our sin. We don't fully understand what sin is.

So we turn to the Lord, if we are smart, and ask for his help, and he will help us. But then we have to learn from our mistakes. This will repeat itself over and over till we've finally repented of all our sin, I think.

<sigh>

We need to stick to what the Bible says, not indulge in fruitless speculation.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
