I am a huge advocate for vaccinations. I always get my flu shot. But...... the vaccinations I get have been around a long time and have been improved. I am not going to get the Covid vaccination for awhile. I will sit back and see how it affects people. It was rushed into production and that is never a good thing. Errors can be present when something is rushed.

I get it.  I'm hoping to be able to wait until it gets full approval, not emergency/investigational/experimental approval.   But that's mainly because I did medical transcription for 20 years and that has shaped a lot of strong beliefs of what type of medical care I do and do not want.   Unfortunately, I do administrative work in a health department with a very left-wing director, which could be problematic, but I will try to hold out as long as I can.  It's not like I'm around anybody except at work, and I always wear my mask when in enclosed public areas (but not when walking the dogs when there's nobody around, which is permitted according to my county's public health order)

I got a flu shot once in my life, it was my wife's idea because she did not want to get sick while trying to get pregnant.  Then she got sick after the shot.  LOL first and last flu shot of my life.  Besides the flu shot you got is for last years strain which you mathematically have almost no chance of catching anyway.

Besides people who get the flu shot have a higher incidence of the flu than those who do not.  Not that you will ever look at the evidence

No, they vaccinate you with a dead virus you can not get the flu from a flu shot. But you can get the flu for two weeks after getting the flu vaccine if you are not careful. It takes two weeks for your titres to take hold in your body.

We would have to have waited ten years to release it to know that...    at 400 ,000 plus deaths this first year, that would be a whole bunch of potential people  over ten years.

Of course. But did we worry about that with polio, small pox? 

I'm too young to have lived in the times when those diseases were much more common. But it would be good to refresh ourselves what those caused to the population prior to vaccinations being readily available.

My titres are larger than I would prefer and have taken hold pretty well. If they get any larger I'm going to need support.

There are two vaccines offered here. The Pfizer and the Moderna vaccine. The Moderna vaccine is likely to be the more common IMHO mainly because it doesn't need a -90F freezer to keep it viable like the Pfizer vaccine. Both vaccines are somewhere around 95% effective. I once worked on commercial freezers. I know the difficulty and expense involved in keeping something that cold. Ice cream likes -20 F  and I thought that was cold. 

Unlike some vaccines these are mRNA. I don't understand all of how they work except to say they work to build certain proteins in your body for defense. These proteins apparently kill the virus. The Moderna version is three time larger than the Pfizer version. They both perform the same sorts of things. From what I hear, they both require two shots. This has been an issue for a few because people get one shot and the second one does not become available. Common side effects have been injection site pain, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, and joint pain. 

I am scheduled for the Moderna vaccine when it becomes available here. I would be concerned if getting the Pfizer version that it wasn't kept at -90F the whole time. I mean, if it wasn't would you ever know? Probably not.

Some people have still caught the virus after the vaccination, so it isn't a sure thing. So far as deaths or serious side effect I haven't heard of any. One famous person just died after not long after he got the vaccine. They are saying the vaccine wasn't the cause.
