Blessed indeed are we who just LOVE GODS WORD. Thank you for feeding also!!!

This is something I wish I would have recognized earlier and accepted as a truth (cause it didn't/doesn't matter how I see myself but comes from the work being done) and JUST IN CASE you haven't yet, so you don't wait until the 1000th time, like me

Proverbs 16
[belong] to man the preparation of the heart but [is] from YHVH the answer of the tongue.

All the ways of a man [are] pure in his own eyes but weighs the spirits Yehovah

COMMIT TO YHVH YOUR WORKS AND WILL BE ESTABLISHED YOUR THOUGHTS

They aren't accidents, happenstance, coincidences etc., they are LEADINGS from the Spirit and we can be SURE they are because IT IS ALWAYS WRITTEN.   The Word will ALWAYS back itself up, if it doesn't, there is a problem with our eyes, our dividing, or the thought.

God bless you and keep you on the path

It's  a well thought out post.

Need to keep it in mind, not to think high about myself, not to forget to where I started from. From the  ABC of the faith in Jesus Christ.

@DeighAnn

A very friendly hello to you too, Sister Ann!

What I notice about the foundation Jesus Christ in your life is, first of all, my deep gratitude to Him who brought us from the dead into His life by forgiving our sins and that He is our foundation both in your life and in my life.  Hallelujah, praise the Lord Jesus!

His foundation in our lives should above all be skillfully laid. (1Cor.3:10)
Unfortunately, there are many precious children of God, dear Christians, in which the foundation of the faith has been incompletely laid!  Because of this, certain parts of God's foundation are not or hardly used, which inhibits the work and blessing of the Lord Jesus!

The city that lies on a mountain cannot be hidden, and if we follow the Lord Jesus we will have to do the healing work that the Lord Jesus did. (Mt.5:14, Jh.14:12)
The Lord Jesus cast out demons, He laid His hands on sick people and He raised the dead!

Moreover, at the end of His earthly life the Lord Jesus Christ indicated the recognisability of His followers:

Mar 16:17 KJV And these signs shall follow them that believe; IN MY NAME shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues

"Because THAT TONGUE, is a tongue  UNDERSTOOD BY ALL WHO HEAR IT."

As for the understanding of the divided tongues from Acts 2, v9-11 states that people of different nationalities were present in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost:

Han 2:9 KJV Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Han 2:10 KJV Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Han 2:11 KJV Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

They heard the believers speak in their tongues the wonderful works of God.
But do you think it was because the apostles spoke so "intelligibly" in new tongues, or because the grace of the Lord Jesus gave these devout people the ability to understand them?
Could the Parthians speak to the Jews of Pamphylia outside of their Hebrew (and Greek) language?
Could the Arab Jews understand what was said by the Asians or the Elamites?

The apostles spoke the new language of the Holy Spirit and that language was understood by the strangers, because God could open their ears on the spot and give them to understand.
The apostles didn't even have to understand it, but the strangers understood what was spoken by God.
Each of these men heard the same words, but they were onderstood in their own language.
Thus the devout were addressed by God.
But there was another a group present, they were the mockers!
These mockers also heard the same words of God, but they understood nothing at all!
(v13)
God could give the devout people the ability to understand Him, those who mock God received nothing!

But God had said through His prophet, that He would be glorified by men of foreign language:

Jes 28:11 KJV For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

"Please take note of what new means  NEW  2537  kainos

new, fresh, unused, novel

New in quality (innovation), fresh in development or opportunity because not found exactly like this before."

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit into ordinary believing people, Pentecost, was new in history!
This had never happened before, for the Spirit of God to dwell in believers who love Him.
That was new.  So new that a whole series of new things could be named from it.
Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, a new creature has come into being. (2Cor.5:17)
For this human being the old sinful existence is over and s/he lives in newness of life, hallelujah!
The new man of God, with a new live in the Lord Jesus, with a new righteous identity, and a new language, because God Himself wants to speak in and through her for redemption and for healing.

God bless you, sister.

Jesus has given us an example of what "New" is in the Context of the "New" and "Old" Covenants.

In the parable of the Garments.

The New Covenant comes with the New World, with the New Earth.

And the Old is still exist in parallel to the New.

It is not wiped away, because that what we are commanded to do, to bring the people who are in the old world and or Covenant into the New.

Makes you understand the thorn given Paul.

I try to always keep in mind that EVERYTHING I know has been GIVEN, and none of it is of myself.  What ever measure of it I possess has nothing to do with me personally.  I happen to find a lot of peace in that.  BUT I can STILL rejoice in that  measure given, cause I do so love it.

God bless, hope in a later time when we come to look in our selves we can see how the wine dresser has help us to grow new branches and how he has prune some of our branches along the way.

We shall be change, we cannot stay the same.

God bless you, sister.

I don't have the time to make this nicer right now or I would, this is straight from the hip, SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME, my social skills (is 'suck' a bad word) are severely lacking, I didn't see this till just a little bit ago and I apologize for that also.  I also only got to one part and will continue later on the rest.  Seriously, if you are sensitive WAIT, and I will come back and do a friendlier job I know YOU DESERVE that as that is what you give.

New,  not divided.

So let's see WHAT 'speaking in tongues/Pentecostal/cloven/divided tongues LOOKS LIKE
so that we can make SURE that we don't have DECEIVERS going around 'faking' it and making TRUE men and women of GOD feel as if they weren't or questioning Gods love or their salvation.
Because you would have to admit that could SURE hurt a lot of the EWES, those who don't have a solid foundation to discern good from evil.

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

SO if I read this correct THERE IS A SOUND THAT COMES FROM HEAVEN AS A RUSHING MIGHTY WIND

IT FILLS THE PLACE WHERE YOU ARE

YOU SEE CLOVEN TONGUES THAT LOOK LIKE FIRE

AND THESE SIT UPON THOSE WHO WILL BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

AND THE SPIRIT GIVES THE UTTERANCE

AND THEY SPEAK A LANGUAGE THAT EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS.

Please, let me be the first to tell you THAT WHEN ALL THESE THINGS happen, I will absolutely know the Holy Spirit is teaching.

BUT IF THE PERSON ONLY UTTERS WORDS NOT UNDERSTOOD AND THEN CLAIMS THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING, I AM GOING WITH NO, they are lying/deceiving/not of God.

Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Acts 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Acts 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Acts 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

Acts 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Acts 2:12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

didn't say they didn't hear or understand, just they were mocking

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Acts 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:

and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:

 Acts 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit;
and they shall prophesy:

But notice what isn't said?  NOTHING ABOUT speaking in the cloven tongue.

Acts 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Acts 2:25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Acts 2:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Acts 2:35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

remember what we were told those would be?
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Acts 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

Acts 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Hello DeighAnn,

And now to summarize, what do you think about the fact the Lord Jesus did use the language of the Holy Spirit, He did cast out demons and He did laid hands on sick people, and you don't?

Joh 14:12 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also

Are you clearly recognizable as a Christian if none of those signs follow you the Lord Jesus has mentioned, by that the believers will be recognizable?

Mar 16:17 KJV And these signs shall follow them that believe; IN MY NAME shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues

Please understand me well dear sister, this applies not only to you but also to me and to all Christians, including those on Worthy.

Connected in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is very interesting Frits, I speak in tongues, not long after becoming a new babe in Christ,I would only speak , if God asked me to,..I haven’t spoke in tongues in years.

There is also a believer in church, who is a healer,..I had a few words with him once, because I believed he was taking all the Glory ,when sharing at church in front of the congregation,....I did speak out and say to him, you aren’t the healer “ God Is” never forget that.....I get quite annoyed when others start taking the glory away from God...

He gave me the gift of tongues...I have no idea what is being said...,but as I explained, haven’t spoken in tongues in years.

i was also given a prophecy for my own life, that is the only prophecy I have ever received...but it was mind blowing!......

Doesn’t it say somewhere in the bible that we are to pray for spiritual gifts?

No where does it say..you aren’t a believer if you don’t have them.

Hello Sister Clancy,
Thank you for your uplifting and sincere post.

I am glad Sister Clancy that you, as a new creation of God, have also spoken in new tongues.
Speaking in tongues serves a special purpose, which is that the Holy Spirit may speak in you and through you (and in me, in all of us), and that thereby yourselves be strengthened in the inner man.  (1Cor.14:4, Eph.3:16)
So please continue to speak in the (to humans unintelligible) language of the Holy Spirit, to the glory and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The various gifts of the Holy Spirit (1Cor.12 - charismata) are given to us by God, each one according to our grace. (Rm.12:6)

In addition, speaking in tongues, in contrast to prophesying, is not giving to some believers but to all believers, all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Indeed, it is not a definition that anyone who does not speak in new tongues is not a believer! Because only God and man himself know what is in man. (1Cor.2:11)

But he who in the Name of the Lord Jesus does speak in new tongues, it turned out to God that this person believed the Lord Jesus and acted accordingly.

The casting out of demons as well as speaking in new tongues in the Name of Jesus Christ, has been given by Him to all His believers.

Mr.16:17 KJV And these signs shall follow them that believe;  In my name shall they cast out devils;  they shall speak with new tongues

May the Lord Jesus bless you in doing so.

Just interjecting here with some thoughts.  The Holy Spirit doesn't do things by rote or formula, rather it blows as it listeth, like the wind (John 3:8), so we don't at all necessarily expect to see the Lord do the same things the same way every time.  For example, Jesus never healed the same way twice that we see in scripture, and He followed the leading of the Holy Spirit perfectly.

Also, 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 give us some very good teachings about the gifts of the Spirit.....these passages tell us how different gifts are given to different parts of the body, so we don't expect that every member of the body necessarily speaks in tongues or heals, or evangelizes, etc. (Where the bible talks about the church doing certain things, speaking in tongues, miracles, etc, it is often talking about the church as a whole, and not every individual member of it).

There are "unknown tongues" which are not for the understanding at all, as mentioned in 1 Cor. 14.  There are different administrations as well as different operations of the same gifts (1 Cor. 12) which are not named and delineated in the bible....another indication that we really can't nail down the Holy Spirit.....in other words, the Lord moves and works as He pleases, and we are not to quench the Spirit.

I would like to assure everyone that, although I have never spoken in tongues, I have the Holy Spirit acting in my life, leading me to scripture, hearing the voice of God through thoughts coming to me in prayer, and have exercised other Gifts as and when God has exercised them through me.

The Holy Spirit doesnt need us to speak in tongues to communicate with us.

It saddens me when some assert to a believer that they are not a true believer if they do not speak in tongues, discouraging such ones and casting doubts on their salvation, causing them to feel a loved less by God and even think they are not acceptable to Him. This, to me, is stumbling others, and forbidden by God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
