They did not have vowels with punctuation and the sense of it was by context and understanding of the Tanakh. Nothing was written without a very good reason.

It doesn't matter.   What matters is the first time we meet Peter in the Gospels.   And what does it say specifically about Peter?   He was a FISHERMAN by Trade.   A fisherman by Trade ALWAYS logs his catch!   That is a given.   Peter wants to be paid.   How do you get paid?   You catch fish.  Then you log the number of fish caught.   153 is that number in this scenario and nothing more.

But this doesn't say that 153 is insignificant. I don't follow your logic.

The number 153 has no meaning to the Jews or Ancient Hebrews.   It has no meaning to the Gentiles.   It has no meaning Spiritually.   After simple deduction, it's simply the number of fish caught.

I will throw out a bone here.   If 153 has any sort of meaning, it could mean like Enoch [the 7th from Adam], but do we know who the 153rd from Adam is?
