A wicked and perverse generation ask for signs.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Jesus spoke these words to the religeous leaders who were trying to trick Him, not to His followers.

John 6: 26 Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek me, not because you saw the miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

John 12

37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

John 6 :36 But I said to you, That you also have seen me, and believe not.

Some times we miss the signs and wonders because they don't come the way we expect them to? :)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I look for the things Jesus said would take place,

Franky,

Here are some signs that show whether the Spirit of holiness is present in the churches.

2COR 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (there is something for us to do)

HEB 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance

from dead works, and of faith toward God, (continuing in sin) ................

6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy

Ghost,

6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the

world to come,

6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing

they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (Oops, they lost it, don't tell the OSAS people)

HEB 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a

cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (something for us to do again)

12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against

himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (this must only apply to the Jews, it couldn't apply to us)

12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as

unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son

whom he receiveth.

12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for

what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then

are ye bastards, and not sons.

If these Scriptures make you uncomfortable, rejoice for that is the Holy Spirit working on your conscience. Let Him do His work of chastening . If wou wish to reject Him, then just listen to the responses that are sure to follow this post. They will calm your fears and quiet the voice of the Spirit. Then you will know for sure what the problem is.

Chastened by the Lord,

Dennis

You want signs? Take a look at the world around you. There everywhere.

The christian faith is the only faith that gets attacked on a daily basis. It's not wanted in our schools but it's ok for muslems to practice their faith there. It's unwelcome in the work place but it's ok for muslems to interupt their work day and go pray however many times they want.

No one attacks the buddists, the hindus, and of course the muslems.

People of the muslem faith are killing people everyday and all I keep hearing is that their message is one peace. They slaughtered over 3,000 people in the twin towers and yet we keep hearing about how peace loving they are.

People don't want "In God We Trust" on our money because it offends them. They don't want it in our pledge of allegiance because they're offended. The ten commandments offend people. I could go on and on.

The signs are out there. You just have to open your eyes.

If you want a sign of faith then look to a child learning to read the Bible. If you want a sign look to the former drug addict that is now leading worship. If you want a sign look to the broken man being made complete.

In our quest for the extrodinary we have completely forgotten about the extrodinarily "mundane". In our quest for signs, we have over looked the most obvious and moving ones.

These are signs, and good ones, they prove the power, and Grace of the Holy Spirit, in fact, I'm living proof of God's grace.

What I mean is the specific signs that would accompany the preaching of the Gospel. Like Jesus carefully taught;

Matthew

10:7,8 "And as you go, preach, saying, ' the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, clense the lepers, freely you have received, freely give'."

Mark

16:20 " And they went out and preached everywhere while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed."

These are signs I'm talking about, where are we taught that these are no longer needed? I think they are needed now just as much as then.

Matthew 10 was to the 70 disciples, not to us. Mark 16 is Hebrew hyperbole.

How are we different than the 70 ?

6:12, 13 "And they went out and preached that men should repent, and they were casting out many demons, and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them."

16:15 "And He said to them ' go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation."

And how are we different than those above who were told to go into all the world and do what Jesus said to do ? What are we to do today, just pass out tracts and let it go at that ? I'm talking about the power that Jesus said we would have to preach the Gospel with the confirmation by the acts of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is our example, and He used a bit more than words.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
