No---don't worry about the length. I'm going to assume that this isn't some way far out in left field church of the Oreo Cookie or something.

:-)

No it's Presbyterian and they uphold a reformed doctrine. I'm not personally on board with a few of the things but I don't let it keep me from enjoying the fellowship and wonderful teaching/preaching there.

I would only hope that this doesn't become an opportunity for trouble---good doctrinal discussion in love is the target.

I don't see a thread by the name over there. Is it still being approved?

Ummmmm . . .  I will pass on that idea. My church does have live streams that are stored on YouTube but we do so not for public recognition, but for some of our members who are still shut-ins due to fear of covid etc.

We have found the following issues with our live feeds:

1. Our in-house worship is awesome, mixed very nice, but the online recordings are terrible.

2. because of #1 above, many never stay long enough to hear the service messages which are great.

3. My church teaches biblical tithing and offerings, assembly of the membership, etc. , which many on this forum will disagree with  and cause division with. Its a shame it is like this, but, it is what it is and I just don't want to listen to the 'nay-sayers' complaints.

I do hope this works for some of the saints who come here tho . . . .

Sorry Teddy I think I got the title name slightly off. I believe Sower has it right. It was in red meaning it was waiting for approval.

FYI that was an extra long service because we had the Lord's table after the sermon. One service there isn't necessarily similar to another. We rotate worship teams.

Hi Ray,

Our church was once a part of a retirement community right next to the church since the original pastor started both. The two have long since separated as different entities, yet we still maintain a friendly ongoing relationship with them there. This was one of our main motives for having an improved live stream since many of them can't get out to church and I guess this was probably the motive most churches had in putting these streams up. Our church has never pushed the live feed as a mission tool. In fact, my last church had a Facebook feed which generated far more traffic than the YouTube feed at this church, even though this is a much larger congregation. I attribute most of that to the connections you can make on Facebook with many members already being on it. There are computer programs you can get that will broadcast across multiple platforms all at once. Our church might be doing this.

My church is investing in a big way to improve things with the feed and the audio. Audio bandwidth is limited on Facebook and is only monaural. There are ways to work around that. It gets involved technically, but yes streaming does affect the music especially the bass ( there is little to none). I will be interested to see if our upgrade will improve on it. You can still hear the music pretty well. Technically astute people are needed to work around these issues which usually involves more than one program and process. I helped install the system in my last church, but I wasn't the "brain" behind the video streaming end of it. Another person who was more familiar with that  made all the difference there. I did stress to them the need for a very good camera which they purchased. One thing I have come to realize- The whole thing requires teams to operate it who know how to deal with the technical problems that are usually ongoing with these systems.

The really nice thing about all of it is people can drop in from anywhere to hear the sermon. No they won't be getting the fellowship. At least they can see the service.

I would say I am a non-legalist when it comes to giving. I think Christians will simply give what the Lord lays on their hearts to give. I for one, would not make any issues about a church that teaches the tithe or 10% but that's me.

I though it might be interesting to post links to our various church feeds for those who may not be able to get out to church. I wasn't sure if this was a conflict with the TOS? The links I'm thinking of are not asking for anything. Since churches invest considerable time and money into these feeds, it seems getting the word out by posting a links section might be helpful. Would also be interesting to see how the various churches worship for me.

My last church had a video feed to Facebook. The church I attend now posts to YouTube. Since this is a video I guess the links would need approval.

The only negative I could think of is I would have to watch what I say because you would all know where I attend and you could report me :D

Thoughts? Could we link video feeds to ours or other church services we like?

Could you please clarify

Thoughts? Could we link video feeds to ours or other church services we like? Ministering to the home bound is good, but who is teaching on the video could be a concern like affiliation

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
