"We assume that the dwelling of the Holy Spirit in a believer is permanent. And we'll look at passages in the New Testament where the Holy Spirit's presence in the believer is referred to as a down payment, or the arrabōn, which could be like an engagement ring. And we often don't realize that deposits do get withdrawn, engagements are broken, God did divorce Israel, the Holy Spirit did leave Zion. The Spirit of God is certainly with us and he doesn't plan on going anywhere, unless you tell him to get lost. Link to sermon" - Dr. Michael S. Heiser

Satan works hard at getting Christians to apostasise, so that they become like those who were directly instrumental in crucifying Christ.

Unless the soil of the heart is cultivated by the conscience and kept fertile by faith in Christ, it becomes compacted, stoney, and good for nothing but thorns and weeds.

Heb 6:4-8  For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,  (5)  And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,  (6)  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.  (7)  For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:  (8)  But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Jas 1:12-15  Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.  (13)  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:  (14)  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.  (15)  Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

It is by works or it is not... it is that simple
Titus 3:5-8

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
KJV

When a person comes to the place where repentance is the motive to cry out to The Lord to save them a new life is formed and that life is kept by God... Also within that life a person is belonging to God to serve Him as nothing else will do... it is out of love that God places in the heart we walk...

Heiser would correct his view on this by just accepting John's posit of truth

1 John 2:19

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
KJV
if one chooses to leave that means they were not of the regeneration... God cannot depart from Himself and it is God within us the hope of glory....

Once a person has genuinely received the Holy Spirit it is there permanently.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

This work focuses on God's point of view and by extension reality. The topic of the scripture you stated is about the difficulty of humans perceiving others accurately. What was manifested in those who went from them in 1 John 2:19? I am assuming they fell to idol worship and not a projection of whatever I would degree with.

Can you please explain a little more what you want to emphasize. Thank you.

What are you trying to say is not very clear.

Your post is good, but the scriptures are confusing.

I apologize, this is meant to be an introduction to the video. A video I did not adequately point out in the link.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
