I like to be optimistic. But I season my optimism with realism ← which is often misinterpreted as pessimism. In America especially, you can't turn away from Christ and not end up in evil. Call it a retreat into jungle law (if you must). Humanism is always the catalyst for the "rotting within" Rashid spoke of. Always. Humanism appeals to humanity the most. Be all you were born to be. Do what comes natural. Don't trust in an invisible God that your 5 senses cannot detect. America rose and falls as a testimony to all that doing things God's way rather than the humanist way is what gets us blessing and is the divine course of following the manual of the Creator who designed all things to work His way. A knife can loosen or tighten a screw, but it will damage the knife and the screw. Sadly, I agree with the OP that American is fast becoming (and in many cases already is) a negative testimony to these facts (just like Israel was). In the end, the Glorious God is testified to.
