Daniel - Metal man image

I have mentioned more than a few times I am involved in studying Daniel. I am now going back to the beginning chapters and writing all the notes, interpretations, etc., into some readable form.

Now I am in chapter 2 and have identified a few additional issues that I did not see or ask myself during the first go around. Here is one of my new / recent questions to address:

1) Metal Man Image - everyone is familiar with this colorful and interesting image. It has gold, silver, bronze and then iron representing the four kingdoms of man's rule beginning with Babylon.  

         a) Why is there no boot or foot covering?  No man walks without shoes and no army walks without strong coverings or boots over their feet. No one would go into battle without boots. Certainly the Roman army would wear metal / leather boots.....

                     1) I don't think this might have anything to do with the "Stone" hurling down at the feet destroying the entire image - clearly, God destroys all the metals and a metal / leather covering over the feet would not change the outcome.

                     

I have been thinking about this since I asked myself this question for the past three nights.... and so far, this is what I came up with and I have yet to move off of it since I have not completed the thought and have no other at this time:

                                                a) The four metals are merely man's attempt to cloth himself in whatever he feels he has to... what makes him comfortable, safe, powerful, rich, etc., It contrasts with God's clothing of Adam with the skins of the animal He sacrificed.  Consequently, the man is inside of those four metals just as we would be if we were in our military garments - whether they are metal armor in the crusades or later times, etc., But by leaving the feet and the toes without covering, God is telling us??????

                                                                 No matter how you cloth yourselves in riches, power, armor, etc., you will still be man and you will never cover or secure yourself by your own hands.... You (us) were made by the clay / dust of the ground and that will never change .... no metals of any kind will protect you, make you more than you are.... you will have to answer to Me .... no covering or any kind (whatever you build or clothed yourself with on earth), will ever make change you.... you will always be a man on the inside ..

So, please consider this and tear it down, add / subtract / destroy / whatever..... I would like to hear your thoughts!!!!!  Thank you, Charlie

The metals show a degeneration across the kingdoms and reflects the nature of the kingdoms. 

The toes are an important part of the prophecy. If there were shoes Daniel couldn't see the toes!

Hi Charlie, hope you don't mind if I use this to post a reply.  Pretty sure you and I have discussed before, so I am kinda just reviewing.  (Use it or lose it is a major truth for me).  But it does seem as if you are going backwards in Daniel.  Have you finished yet?  Any eyes on Rev yet?

 

 

It isn't about any 'man'.  It is about the kingdoms set UP in opposition to Gods and the 'strengths' of each, IMO.  They are in descending order, top heavy.  (Four winds gonna knock the whole operation to dust!!)  Look up the specific gravities of gold silver brass etc. and you will see it is very top heavy.  The ten toes are the clay (human) and metal (fallen angels kicked out with Satan) as the last kingdom on earth before Christ returns and destroys all kingdoms and sets up His own.  So it is 1 Babylon, 2 Medo-Persia, 3 Greece, 4 Romans, 5 Mohammad, 6 Satan, and the 7th is the 

Psalm 118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

Psalm 118:23 This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

(at the end of the Lords Day comes the last (8) 'short space', hence the 'is not' and will again)


Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Revelation 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

Remember this is being spoken of once Satan and his angels have been cast down, so Babylon through Mohammad will be past, (5)  Satans is/will be (6) present, and at the END of the millennium Satan will be released from the pit for the short time.  (Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison),

Revelation 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

Satan as prince of the power of the air in the 6th kingdom, CHRIST RULING 7th Millennium rule where, 8th Satan loosed before lake of fire death of him.  This tells us that Satan is the Adversary throughout all kingdoms that are not lead by the LORD. 

Revelation 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

These are the angels that will be kicked out and will rule with Satan for the 'hour of temptation'.  

Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Revelation 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

It is just history.  One thing I noticed is it mentions 4 but doesn't say anywhere there are only 4.  So those 4 have a meaning as to examples of what the last kingdom will 'look' like.  Absolute, quick, and trampling down with huge oppression (Christians anyhow).   Just something to think about.  Also you will notice that all these kingdoms ruled over Jerusalem.  (Revelation 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.  (God is always in control))  Why is that important?  Because that is who God married. As He first found Jebus That is where His kingdom will be set up.  It all has to do with Him, His plan and that is His center here on earth.  All the stuff man uses to justify is at best a profane history and should be remembered as such.  But go and look at the history of Jerusalem.  Those kingdoms ALL possessed Jerusalem.  That is what they all have in common.  And since the Mohammad took control, they have maintained it ever since. But always, the Pure words of God always take precedent.

Ezekiel 16:61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.

Ezekiel 16:62 And I will establish My covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:

Ezekiel 16:63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.

The book of Daniel is prophecy and a sister book to the book of Revelation.  So everything we read in Daniel must be read in that light, that it is prophetic, just like all the other prophecy books in the Bible.

Daniel 2:38 
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

So here we are told that the king of Babylon is the head of gold, ruler over them all, the “prince and power of the air.”  Yeah, the king of Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar) is a type for the antichrist of the end times.

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

Historically speaking, we had different types of kingdoms follow the world-ruling Babylonian empire.  There was the Medo-Persian empire, the Grecian empire under Alexander the Great, and the Roman empire.

So again, it is important to remember that these kingdoms were types and that this dream of Nebuchadnezzar concerns the end times when all the kingdoms of the earth and all the powers of their types are brought together in a New World Order.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

The world kingdom of the end time shall be divided and will be extremely unstable and wobbly in that it is top-heavy and stands upon feet of iron mixed with wet muddy clay.  You see, there's a big problem in that iron and clay don't mix.  For that reason the New World Order never quite gets it all together and in fact receives a deadly wound.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

And so it is partly strong and partly broken and fragile, and it shall continue to be until it is destroyed by the stone cut out with out hands.

Yep, its going to be just like it was in the days of Noah before the flood when the fallen angels came to this earth and mingled with flesh man.  By the way, those fallen angels who are cast out with Satan are the ten toes who are the kings who wear the crowns and rule with the beast at the very end.

Hi Selah, excellent but I have a question, do you think there is a difference between the feet and the toes?  I am trying to figure out if feet is before the war in heaven and toes are after or however you see it.  Thank you.  So clear and easy to follow.  Oh, is there a difference between the feet and toe clay if so what is it?  Thank you.

Those are excellent questions!  ...but, unfortunately, I don’t know the answers, except that I see the toes as after the war in heaven, at which point, Satan is kicked down to the earth (in person!) and he brings his 10 kings with him.

The feet of clay and iron are no different than the legs of iron, the loins and abdomen of brass, the arms and chest of silver and head of gold. There are no coverings over any of the combined image. If it had shoes then no one could see that the feet were of clay and iron.

It's not about what clothes it should have on or if clothes were indicated in the metals. It's about the metals themselves that degrade with each following metal that finally results in iron unmixed or un-unified with clay and what they represent and/or mean.

The gold head was told in representing King Nebuchadnezzer of Babylon and his empire. So the following metals each represent the succeeding kings of a different nation and empire.

The arms indicate Medio-Persia. The torso represents the rule of Alexander the Great. The legs indicate the twin kingdoms that existed throughout all of the Roman rule. The feet represent the transition and the toes represent the culminated 10 kingdoms that are an unmixable conglomeration of the harshness of iron and crumbly consistency of clay.

The ten toes can be compared to the elite of ancient Egypt and their harshly subjugated slaves. Look at things happening in the world today and determine if there's any indication of governments heading in that direction. Whatever degree there may be at present it still hasn't been completely manifested because there isn't yet one ruler to rule over the ten rulers.. the one ultimate ruler who subdues three of the ten.

I have my own speculations concerning the lack of unity in the EU and the recent "Brexit", and the talk of others to also make their exit. One has occurred. And if my speculations are right, then two more will yet happen. France looks like the next to exit. But it's a race with another so they're nose to nose to see who exits first between the two.

Then something (the rapture of the church), a major shift will happen that brings the antichrist into the spotlight. And he'll re-gather the three as his personal conquests which enlarges his horn. The remaining seven rulers are lesser in only ruling over each their one domain.

The stone or rock that hits the feet of iron and clay is Jesus arriving in his Second Coming. He defeats the antichrist and his army. Then sets up his Messianic thousand year reign. His kingdom shall be forever and not be superseded by any other kingdom of man or the devil who is defeated forever.
