Which Gospel Speaks to You?

Of the four gospels, which one speaks to you most and why?

As someone who was not raised in a Christian home I find the gospel of Luke most compelling since he was a Gentile and wrote specifically for the Gentiles. I feel he would have been skeptical since he was not a Jew and had no vested interest in the Jewish religion. Luke also did not know Jesus personally but only knew of Jesus through interaction with those who did. He cataloged Jesus' life and teachings in the same way a detective or historian would and yet still considered the evidence of Jesus' life, death and resurrection strong enough to convince him not only to convert but to dedicate his life to traveling with Paul on his early missionary trips.

It was Holy Spirit that hit me literally n gave me vision that LED me to read Gospel.

I'll have to agree with you. Luke has always been  my favourite.  I find what we know of him interesting. He writes so well. So detailed.  And it emphasises Christs compassion for the broken, needy and lost. There are such beautiful touches, like the stories of Anna and Simeon.

They all speak to me. They are all a little bit different.

I have heard this before. John does feel more personal than the others.

Hi.. I agree. I am awful with words. It reads different? Its not the gospel nor the power authority on and on. Hmm like one book  yet we see Christ the word a little differently?

My personal favorite, too, TheBlade, for the very same reason.  My heart is so touched by the prayer of Jesus in chapter 17, especially by the following words—because over 2000 years ago, He was already thinking about me!

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
