Har mo-ed is Hebrew. It is a mountain 'Har'; 'mo'ed', and assembly. Check the Hebrew. This is a good example of poor translations and transliterations. There are NO mountain in Megiddo. This is a pop-pulpit mistake.

Would you mind reading my post again? :)

Rev. 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Rev. 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

There's the hail! This happens to those gathered together five verses ago in Rev. 16:16 in the place "called" Armageddon, which means rendevous, or gathering.  Jesus Christ returns to Jerusalem, which is where Satan's crowd will be gathered.

So the kings are gathered.  The 7th Trump sounds and God pours out the 7th Vial.

Rev. 10:7
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Rev. 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

The battle of Armageddon
WHERE: On the mount of Megiddo, the gathering place of the crowd, JERUSALEM.
WHEN: At the 7th trump (Vials are poured out in the 7th trump, Cups of wrath poured out)  Rev. 16:17 “it is done”
WHO: Rev 16:14 "to gather them to the battle of that great DAY of God Almighty.” It's God's battle; He does the fighting for us and it is over in minutes.

Isaiah 51:17 - Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast DRUNK at the hand of the LORD the CUP of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the CUP of trembling, and wrung them out.

Isaiah 51:19 - These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?

Isaiah 51:20 - Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.

Hi Selah,

Interesting topic. Here is what I believe.

The armies of every nation in the world will initially gather at Armageddon. (north of Israel). There, they will be consolidated into one mighty invasion force. It will advance in extended order, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea, to the Jordan valley. This gigantic army will sweep through the plains of Esdraelon and Samaria conquering and subduing every town and village, exterminating all Israelis enroute.

Finally this force will encompass the city of Jerusalem which will eventually be overwhelmed, conquered and looted. Two-thirds of the whole Israel nation will be slain. Jesus said -

`When you see, Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognise that her desolation is at hand.` (Luke 21: 20)

Israel as a nation will be broken and crushed. The armies of all the nations of the world will be marshalled in victory formation outside Jerusalem. What a triumph! The world`s armies against Israel! What an overkill!! However it is predicted by Jesus that it will be a pyrrhic victory. (pyrrhic - costing more to the victor than to the vanquished).

`And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky.` (Matt. 24: 30)

regards, Marilyn.

The Armageddon Rendezvous

Armageddon, literally the Mount of Megiddo. It includes, more specifically, the great extended plain of Megiddo which stretches just above the centre of Israel from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River. It is a broad valley which had developed into a large swamp. However, Israel has drained and cultivated it into a fruitful and fertile plain. One that is extensive and eminently suitable as a natural staging area for a large army. It is a strategic centre with many natural advantages for such a rendezvous. The gateway to Israel, it is the intersection of three continents, with the large port of Haifa at its Western end. Altogether one of the most accessible areas of the Middle East.

Armageddon is from a primitive Hebrew root meaning to "Pluck", or "Destroy". This portrays dramatically the history of this valley. It has been the venue of conflict from early Old Testament times until Napoleon. He called It:-

"Earth's greatest natural battlefield, with sufficient room for the entire armies of the world to manoeuvre."

                                 The Armageddon Campaign

Armageddon will be more than an isolated battle, or engagement contained in one specific area, like Alamein or Waterloo. The Hebrew word "Polemos" indicated a campaign that will extend over a larger area, and a greater period of time.   Several other geographical locations are predicted to be involved. The prophet Joel gives added information and enlarges the area of operation:-

“I will gather all nations and bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat.” (Joel 3:2)

This is an elongated valley commencing east of Jerusalem and spreads northward parallel to the Jordan Valley. It was part of the ancient trade route connecting Israel with Assyria.

Eventually, the City of Jerusalem, itself, will become involved and become the focal centre of attack and final conflict. (Zechariah 14:2)

In geographical and prophetical composite, the armies of every nation in the world will initially gather at Armageddon. There, they will be consolidated into one mighty invasion force. It will advance in extended order, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan Valley. This gigantic army will sweep through the plains of Esdraelon and Samaria conquering and subduing every town and village, exterminating all Israelis enroute.

Finally this force will encompass the City of Jerusalem which will eventually be overwhelmed, conquered and looted. Two-thirds of the whole Israeli nation will be slain. (Zechariah 13:8 - 14:2)

Selah 7

The armies only 'gather' at Meggido to plan their attack, but the battle against Christ is not there as you know.  Christ will lure them to the Mt of Olives and because there are so many, they will come down from Megiddo and travel the east of Jerusalem through the valley of Jehoshaphat and through the West of Jerusalem also making their way through the valley of Hinnom.  Jerusalem will be surrounded by armies, but because of the great earthquake, many survivors will flee to safety before the armies pass by.

Zechariah 14:4   And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Joel 2:20   But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea (dead sea), and his hinder part toward the utmost sea,(mediterranean sea) and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

When it says that Christ will stand on Mt Zion with his 144K, it means that Christ is standing on his holy mountain - which is his kingdom.  His holy kingdom Zion will stand on the Mt of Olives judging the nations and there will be a big blood bath awaiting those armies in the two valleys.

Hope this helps.

I believe it refers to Tel Megiddo. Looking at the different spellings of Har Megiddo as it converts to Hellenic I noticed multiple isopsephy alignments with the number of the beast as 6, 6, 6.

Revelation 16. 13

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.”

Some people believe that the false prophet here is the second beast.

We start off with the Hellenic word Armadeggon (ΑΡΜΑΓΕΔΔΩΝ) as found in the Bible:

ΑΡΜΑΓΕΔΔΩΝ = 1+100+40+1+3+5+4+4+800+50 = 1008

In ancient Hellenic to write an number like 666 you would write ‘six and sixty an six hundred’ with no spaces in-between. Thus in the neutral gender one would have: EksKAIEkEKONTAKAIEKsAKOSIA (ΕΞΚΑΙΕΞΗΚΟΝΤΑΚΑΙΕΞΑΚΟΣΙΑ):

ΕΞΚΑΙΕΞΗΚΟΝΤΑΚΑΙΕΞΑΚΟΣΙΑ = 5+60+20+1+10+5+60+8+20+70+50+300+1+20+1+10+5+60+1+20+70+200+10+1 = 1008

Thus Armageddon is equal to six hundred and sixty six in ancient Hellenic.

So let’s now look at the Hebrew spelling as it is directly transliterated to Hellenic. We start off with Megiddo. In Hellenic it is spelled ‘ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩ’.

ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩ = 40+5+3+10+4+4+800 = 866

But it modern Hellenic the phrase six hundred and sixty six(neutral) is written ‘EKsAKOSIA EkSENTA EkSI’ ‘ΕΞΑΚΟΣΙΑ ΕΞΗΝΤΑ ΕΞΙ’

ΕΞΑΚΟΣΙΑ ΕΞΗΝΤΑ ΕΞΙ = (5+60+1+20+70+200+10+1)+(5+60+8+50+300+1)+(5+60+10) = 866

We can then move on to the form ‘Har Meggidon’. Here the H letter corresponds to the rough breathing sound ‘daseia’ used in non-Ionic ancient Hellenic alphabets. We thus have:

ΗΑΡ ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩΝ = (8+1+100)+(40+5+3+10+4+4+800+50) = 1025

But this is the isopsephy value of the Biblical form of the phrase for ‘six hundred and sixty six’ in the masculine form(See Revelation 13) EKsAKOSIOI EKsEKONTA Eks (ΕΞΑΚΟΣΙΟΙ ΕΞΗΚΟΝΤΑ ΕΞ):

ΕΞΑΚΟΣΙΟΙ ΕΞΗΚΟΝΤΑ ΕΞ = (5+60+1+20+70+200+10+70+10)+(5+60+8+20+70+50+300+1)+(5+60) = 1025

We can also investigate the ‘Har Meggido’ form as ‘ΗΑΡ ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩ’:

ΗΑΡ ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩ = (8+1+100)+(40+5+3+10+4+4+800) = 975

But this is the isopsephy value of the word for dragon as drakon (ΔΡΑΚΩΝ):

ΔΡΑΚΩΝ = 4+100+1+20+800+50 = 975

Another idea is to use the ‘Kh’ letter X instead of the H letter as ‘ΧΑΡ ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩ’.

ΧΑΡ ΜΕΓΙΔΔΩ = (600+1+100)+(40+5+3+10+4+4+800) = 1567

But this is the isopsephy value of the phrase ‘seal of Satan’ as ‘SPhRAGIS SATANA’:

ΣΦΡΑΓΙΣ ΣΑΤΑΝΑ = (200+500+100+1+3+10+200)+(200+1+300+1+50+1) = 1567

So the question is really why Tel Megiddo.

The armies 'assemble' at Megiddo because God has put it in their hearts to go to that place.  Just before they meet there, the kingdoms and nations are at war with each other.  Every one has turned against one another.  The FP and his kingdom is ruling from Jerusalem.  The Mede's (Islam) stand up against his kingdom in an effort to destroy his power.  They cross over into Israel and all nations join in this war, each taking their side, and each having their own cause.  Total Chaos in Israel, all heading into Jerusalem.

This war is cut short at the appearing of Christ or else no flesh would survive.  The sky is lit up, and the armies are afraid.  Satan knows it's Christ, but he lies through the false prophet and brings the armies together to war the Lamb.  God chose Megiddo because it's only 1.5 hrs away from the Mt of Olives.  When the armies arrive at Megiddo to take their instructions to prepare for a different type of battle now, Christ's feet will touch on the Mt of Olives.  At the same time there is a great earthquake in Jerusalem.  Christ has prepared a way for the people to flee the city into safety, because he knows that all the armies are now making their way down.

Megiddo is chosen, because it takes only 1.5 hrs for the inhabitants of Jersualem to flee the city.  The travel time from Meggido to the Mt of Olives is sufficient time for them to urgently evacuate.  They must be out of the way before the armies surround that city.

The truth is in the written Word, and numbers only confuse.

Valley of Jehosaphat.

Yes, And Valley of Hinnom, also called Tophet which is going to be renamed Valley of Slaughter.

Jeremiah 7:31   And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.

Jeremiah 7:32   Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.

Jeremiah 19:6   Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.

Jeremiah 19:7   And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.

Jeremiah 19:8   And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.

Jeremiah 19:11   And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city (BABYLON), as one breaketh a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury.

Jeremiah 19:12   Thus will I do unto this place, saith the LORD, and to the inhabitants thereof, and even make this city (BABYLON) as Tophet:

Jeremiah 19:13   And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.

TOPHET is a physical place and a spiritual land where all sorcery & witchcraft is practised.  They also offer their children up to false gods.   So not just the armies passing through this valley will be punished, but all who belong to this spiritual land which practice such things. (2 chronicles 33:6).  So Tophet has a two fold meaning.

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
