Amen Gods will not ours! In my own life every prayer that got answered was is when I pray His word. Does God not mean what He says and says what He means? What each believer has to know within them selfs.. is that bible His word or mans? I know that Bible is His word. So any need I have I go right to His word and pray it knowing He will answer it. I can count on one hand the times a NO was given. That no was never about His word. Jesus quoted a man called David as if GOD spoke those words. Forgive me we are not Gods puppets. He gave each of us a will.

Sad but it was only when I was 59 that I found He really does answer our prayer before we pray it. Only once when I was asking for something to help my wifes faith. Something no one could question. As I started to pray then stopped because out of no where I was reminded how He answers before we finish. So I stopped and said.. you already knew what I was going to ask.. you already set in motion the answer before I even finished praying. In all my life never had a prayer answered like that.. yet I should have always believed known this.. its written. So this is just me sharing no more no less.

I have found His will IS His word. Thanks for this thread..  :)

Pray as Jesus prayed, "Not my will, but Thine be done."

I agree. Our will is evil, for us and people around us.

The best thing that exists is we didn't need to worry about our life, believe that Jesus will care about all details, even those which looks like picayune before our eyes (as He promised - Mat 6:25-33).

So, ditch your dreams and receive for free Jesus' plans for you. Certainly is very bigger than you or everybody else can imagine (as it happened to Joseph of Egypt. The maximum that he or his brothers could imagine is that he would reign over them. Nevertheless, he reign over all Egypt empire).

I am surprised that there has been so little response to this topic. Not because I posted it, but because I hear that so many are disappointed with their prayer life results.

If people disagreed with me in my original post, I sure would like to hear about why and discuss it.

I saw more posts about Covid-19 than prayer. I don't understand. Not complaining at all, just kind of surprised.

The Lord's Day 45---Heidelberg Catechism

What are the requisites of that prayer, which is acceptable to God, and which he will hear? HC 117

First, that we from the heart pray1 to the one true God only, who has manifested himself in his word,2 for all things, he has commanded us to ask of him;3 secondly, that we rightly and thoroughly know our need and misery,4 that so we may deeply humble ourselves in the presence of his divine majesty;5 thirdly, that we be fully persuaded that he, notwithstanding that we are unworthy of it, will, for the sake of Christ our Lord, certainly hear our prayer,6 as he has promised us in his word.7

1. John 4:24; Ps. 145:18.

2. Rev. 19:10; John 4:22-24.

3. Rom. 8:26; 1 John 5:14; James 1:5 .

4. 2 Chron. 20:12.

5. Ps. 2:11; Ps. 34:19; Isa. 66:2 .

6. Rom. 10:14; James 1:6.

7. John 14:13, 14; John 16:23; Dan. 9:17, 18.

118. What has God commanded us to ask of him? HC 118

All things necessary for soul and body;1 which Christ our Lord has comprised in that prayer he himself has taught us.

1. James 1:17; Matt. 6:33.

119. What are the words of that prayer?1 HC 119

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

1. Matt. 6:9-13; Luke 11:2-4.

Hi, Arrabon :) Look what I found.  Isn’t it awesome how the Lord’s Prayer and the Beatitudes parallel?
Matthew 6:9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…

PETITION BEATITUDE
Thy name be hallowed  Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit (humble before God)
Thy kingdom come  Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn (Isa. 61:1-3)
Thy will be done  Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek (seeking His will)

Give us our daily bread  Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness
Forgive us our debts  Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful
Lead us not into temptation  Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart
Deliver us from evil  Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

--17:21--  that they all may be one as thou  FATHER  art in  ME  and  I  in thee that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou hast sent  ME

--17:22-- and the glory which thou gavest  ME  I  have given them that they may be one  even as we are one

1 CORINTHIANS 1:10  now I beseech you brethren by the name of our  LORD  JESUS  CHRIST  ---that you all speak the same thing--- and that there be --no divisons-- among you but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement

1 CORINTHIANS  2:16  for who hath known the mind of  THE  LORD  that he may instruct  HIM  but we have the mind of  CHRIST

COLOSSIANS 3:1  if you then be risen with  CHRIST  seek those things which are above where  CHRIST  sitteth on the right hand of  GOD

--3:2--  set your affection on things above not on things on the earth

--3:16-- let the word of  CHRIST  dwell in you richly --in all wisdom-- teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to  THE  LORD

2 CORINTHIANS 12:9  and  HE  said unto me ---MY  grace is sufficient--- for thee -- for  MY  strength is made perfect in weakness most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of  CHRIST  may rest upon me

JOHN 1:17  for the law was given by moses but grace and truth came by  JESUS  CHRIST

JAMES 3:17  but the wisdom that is from above is first pure then peaceable gentle and easy to be entreated full of mercy and good fruits --without partiality--and without hypocrisy---

PROVERBS 14:12  there is way which seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death

LUKE 21:36  watch you therefore and --pray always --that you may be accounted worthy-- to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the  SON  OF  MAN

1 THESSALONIANS 2:12   THAT  YOU  WOULD  WALK  WORTHY  OF  GOD  WHO  HATH  CALLED  YOU  UNTO  HIS  KINGDOM  AND  GLORY

HEBREWS 7:23  and they truly were many priests because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death

--72:24-- but --THIS  MAN-- because  HE  continueth ever hath an ---unchangeable priesthood---

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
