I try to believe, and that's the problem: I try. I read the Bible. I pray. From time to time I feel the Holy Spirit but these feelings are fleeting. Soon the feelings become memories, and like all memories they fade. I admire those of strong faith. My faith is a constant struggle.

Faith comes by hearing, the word. The word is the foundation of our existence. The word brought the universe into existence.
God is light,  and no darkness at all. His promises are true, all of them. Jesus is the word.

Memorize those special verses that draws you to form a confidence in God's love for you...It does work.

**"Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I may not sin against thee"**

The more I memorize scripture, light, download it into my mind, the greater my faith becomes.
The greater my faith, the greater/easier I can believe. The more I believe the more I understand. God's love.

"But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently"     Romans 8:25
He says, "If you love me, keep my commandments"  When I sin, break a commandment, Christ's blood (already) covers it.
God does not stop loving me. But I have the 'feeling' he's probably disappointed. I feel a loss of Fellowship.
It is important for me to immediately confess sin, to restore fellowship. This greatly aids my feelings of God's love.
You do not have to 'feel' the love of God for it to be true. You can believe it though, in his promises(word).

**The more scripture (truth/light) I put in my mind, the more I begin to 'know'  God**

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Renew your mind with these truths and others, continually.   Again, it works.

Pray morning, Noon and night. By praying I mean, talk to God as you would with your earthly daddy. Not parrot fashion as many churches teach. I talk to God about everything and anything that's going on in my daily life, and He hears my conversations and answers me.

I wanted to give you the THUMBS UP but I get this message that I can't give any more "reactions" today.  I have only given like 3 this morning it's 5:30 AM...when did this happen?  Anyways, good post Hazard!

I can’t even post on the forums, only intermittently,I’m not the only one who has this problem either apparently.

How much of each day do you give to study, meditation, prayer with The Scripture?  Seeing it is directly related to your desire of strong faith:

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

[17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Do you have believers that you can trust to fellowship with. Especially during times like these, its important to have that. The LOrd will work through that fellowship. The Body of Christ is a reality and He chooses to work through each member for the sake of other members. In the final analysis, read the scriptures and ask the Lord to help you to simply TRUST Him. He is trustworthy.

Read Romans chapters 1-8 a lot, the Gospel of John a lot and camp out in the first 3 chapters of Ephesians.

But you and I need fellowship.

Thank you for this suggestion. I have read the gospels and enjoy them greatly. The issue -- if there is one -- is a matter of love. I love God, but that love is abstract. There's little intimacy. God is far beyond my comprehension.  The Bible tries to simplify God, to give me the core essence that I need, but that's not enough. I need to understand God on my own terms. Either He will accept me or not. I'm trying my best to accept either outcome.

The issue is not really knowing what Christ has done, and not understanding what being made free, Galatians 5:1, means in our Christian life.  Once we believe in Christ, and are sealed, Ephesians 1:13, the Holy Spirit begins His work on us, John 16:13, 2 Corinthians 4:7, Philippians 1:6,  Galatians 3:5.

God is of no respect of persons, Romans 2:11.  God loves us all greatly and has redeemed us in His Son, 1 John 4:9-11.  God has shed his love abroad to all men.  We have been set free from sin, Romans 6:18, and sin is not imputed unto us, Romans 5:13.  The law has been nailed to the cross, Colossians 2:14, and we have been crucified with Christ, Galatians 2:20, therefore, the law charges nothing against us, we cannot be condemned, Romans 8:1, Romans 8:33, and we are to not condemn ourselves, 1 Corinthians 4:3.  This revelation truth is only revealed by the Holy Spirit to make it experiential in our lives.  The Holy Spirit brings the light of Christ, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Colossians 1:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:5.

Also the issues is not having the God given revelation of our flesh, our old man having been crucified with Christ on the cross, Romans 6:6: The God given revelation of this allows the Holy Spirit to bring about this truth experientially in our life.  But the requirement is to believe, Romans 1:6, Romans 15:13, 1 Corinthians 2:3.   So, if the flesh has been crucified on the cross with Christ, we can only then work out our salvation by the Power of God, the Power of the Holy Spirit, Romans 15:13, 1 Corinthians 2:4-5.  Without this revelation knowledge, we only know to come from the position of the flesh, and not the Spirit.

The flesh does not believe God loves us; the flesh fights against the Spirit, Galatians 5:17.  With this war going on, and this happens to all Christians, yet not understanding what's happening, we remain in the carnal mind, without having our minds renewed by the Spirit, Ephesians 4:23.  The carnal mind is enmity against God, Romans 8:7.

But God knows our flesh, and has helped us out.  He crucified our flesh on the Cross with Christ, Galatians 5:24.  We are to believe He has done this, and we are to put off the old man (fleshly man), Ephesians 4:22, and put on the new man (spiritual man), Ephesians 4:24   Thus we can walk in newness of life, Romans 6:4, and we are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds, Ephesians 4:23, Romans 12:2, by the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 3:20, Colossians 1:11, Ephesians 1:19.

None of us can do the work on our own.   If we could have, then Christ would not have had to die for us, and God would not have crucified our fleshly man/carnal man on the cross with Christ.  It is by God's Spirit that we received Power, 2 Timothy 1:7, and that we are quickened, and walk in newness of life, Romans 8:11.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
