thanks for more of these replies. its good to know that im not alone in struggling with addiction. sometimes it feels that way. there have been times when i wanted to end my life because i thought that would stop the pain and agony over going back and forth. especially after my first arrest. i lost everything. i lost my job, where i lived, all my money, friends and family, relationships with females and i ended up homeless. up til that point i was living good. i had a good paying job, i had many things, i had both self-respect and respect from people, i was sort of popular. i said that " my kingdom burned" and there was nothing i could do about it. toady im trying to rebuild some of that back and im working on getting this out of my life because if i dont then im just gonna lose what i managed to rebuild already.

the other day when i was reading what was said i was reminded that a person from an organization asked me if i was intrested in a mens group that they have for other people who struggle with addictions and its not a na or aa type of thing but its just a group of guys who meet up every 2 weeks and encourage each other. i told him i would be and he said that he would get back to me about the next time there was a meeting. i havent heard back from him and i forgot about it until yesterday. im gonna call him and see when the next meeting is.

This is a good thing. It doesn't have to be AA, NA, etc. The fellowship of believers is what helps. I encourage the guys I work with not to toss the NA or AA meetings aside because they can help in two ways: Finding other believers is the main one, but there is support also. Best part is no one is ramming stuff down your throat.  :)

Something I forgot the mention earlier is there are online recovery chats, and now AA and NA meetings on Zoom and other video conference platforms.

https://www.stepchat.com is a text only chat room that's open 24/7 and they have meetings throughout the day. The schedule is right on the main page and should adjust for your time zone. This came in handy early in the lockdowns last year.

https://aa-intergroup.org/meetings is a directory of online AA meetings around the world. This was great when the lock downs shut down all the local meetings in my area. This and Step Chat comes in handy for those times when you just need someone to talk to on one of those bad mornings at 2am.

First of all admitting you have a problem is 50% of the battle.

My dear Miss Muffet. To our struggling brother whom shall he confess. Of Course we go to God first and of course we understand he has already done. that. He is not hiding from God. Neither could he hide from Him. He has made an open confession. but has not identified the particular sin unless i  missed it We need the particulars of the sin since he said he has fought it all his life. He needs to know to whom and how this confession should be done. Of course there are certain sins that cannot be repeated. I am one of those and still struggle. I have to pray daily over it. I admit this so as to comfort our poster that he know he does not fight this problem alone. He is also among millions of believers. Though the war goes on we cannot stop trusting God. Who else can one go to.. Christ is our hope and trust. His grace is all we have . I have to walk be faith alone because I say to God hell is to great unpunishment for any man. This is the fate of all who love the darkness more than the light

I believed my place was upon my face in the dus

The original post was over a year ago but I just found this now- I am a worm and my struggle is relentless.

It is so hard to stand when you know you are letting God down and your family as well. Day after day the same disappointment…

Are you still around @Ghostdog?

for most of my life ive had an addiction. when i started i was young and i didnt realize it would lead to an addiction. this addiction lead to my first arrest in 2011, then in 2016, 2018 and finally may of this year. i served 2 prison sentances in between those times. the last few years i finally admitted i have a problem. back when i was younger i prayed many times for God to remove this from my life and it seems that He wont. i guess i thought that i would pray and God would answer and remove it and then life would be good. i havent had any cravings lately but i did go back to it a few weeks ago. there are days when i question my salvation over it. can a person be a christian and still go back to an addiction? i would think not. its the whole putting away the flesh and all that. idk.

If i were you i wont let even a second pass that destroy my awareness and concentration by inhaling drugs. We Will inherit the sin/ karma (whatever they name it) even for thousands of years to come after we die.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
