How does your life look like to be at this moment? Perhaps you are feeling like Jeremiah:

•    “For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.” (Lamentations 4.6).

Many times, we look on our debt very heavy. It seems that the world is falling down on our heads:

•    Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more rosy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire: their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaves to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick. They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for lack of the fruits of the field.” (Lamentations 4.7-9).

At these moments, we stay mulling over our previous state and mourn, instead of being grateful to Jesus by His gift (today's day – Psalms 118.24).
But the main point is: what do you plan on to do? I hope that your reaction is different from the Israel:

•    The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.” (Lamentations 4.10).

We can’t overpower all circumstances, but we can take control of ourselves, of the way we react. The pith of our behavior consists on: whom we call in for help? To Jesus or to "pharaoh", with their “chariots and horses” (Psalms 20.7; 147.10)? We will hurt someone to get us free of the quandaries and predicaments or we will manage to surpass our difficulties helping other people with the solace that we receive of Jesus (2Corinthians 1.3-5)? Will we bank on the commandments of Jesus, or will we try to stave off the enemies by our own power, capacity, etc., trying to find our way around His Word? Can be sure that this solution only put off and aggravate our problems.

So, try to understanding what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5.16,17), put it across, live pursuant to it and have a magnificent week.

Few things are sadder than what occurred to Jerusalem when Zedekiah, as a vassal king, rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar, which triggered the Babylonian siege.  A great famine ensued, a famine so horrific that there were instances of women eating their own children (Lamentations 4:10).  Jerusalem was in a slow-motion destruction that made its devastation even worse, worse than the quick and sudden destruction of Sodom (Lamentations 4:6).  Of course, we can never forget WHY Jerusalem was destroyed: the Israelites did not rid themselves of the sin of idolatry that brought reproach on the God whom they claimed to represent. Although God took no pleasure in his action, He did what he had to do to convince the Israelites of their wayward ways. He let the Babylonians come in and destroy their capital city Jerusalem and, worse than that, the temple of God that was located there (2 Chronicles 36:15, 16).

To the Jews this was the ultimate punishment, the greatest shock that they could have experienced. They had thought that they could carry on idol worship and at the same time could count on the permanence of their temple and their city Jerusalem. They doted on their holy city and their temple and complacently felt that Jerusalem would stand forever and that they would never be totally carried away from their land, leaving it desolate. But here the very thing that they thought impossible had happened! (Lamentations 4:12).

The Jews had to realize that idolatry is gross sin and may we too realize that our worship to God must be pure and devoid of any visages of idolatry.  Still, God is patient with us and “will not cast us off forever.  Although he has caused grief, he will also show mercy according to his abundant loyal love.  For it is not in his heart to afflict or grieve the sons of men (Lamentations 3:31-33).

Actually things are looking pretty nice.  Have a home paid for for 20 years, two old cars that work just fine, an RV we just spent three weeks traveling and fishing (and caught a lot of fish).    We never lived above our means and set up a good retirement program so we are not a burden to our children and we are not in debt to anyone beyond this months credit card charges.   God has walked with us for a very long time and gave us the knowledge and opportunity to live a joyous life.   I'm 74 and been married to the same woman for 51 years and love her more today than I did 51 years ago.

Yet I know that it could all come to an end in the next 15 minutes unless God watches over us.

My country's leaders would scare the daylights out of me if I didn't trust the Lord has us covered.

So all in all things are looking pretty good at the moment.   Tomorrow????   Who knows.   But the Holy Spirit will get us through whatever comes along.

--5:14-- and this is confidence that we have in  HIM  that if we ask anything according to  HIS  will he heareth us

--5:15-- and if we know that  HE  hear us whatsoever we ask we know that we have the petitions that we desired of  HIM

PHILIPPIANS 4:13  I can do all things through  CHRIST  which strengtheneth me

JOHN 14:14  if you shall ask anything in  MY  NAME  I  will do it

JOHN 15:6  I am the vine you are the branches he that  abideth in  ME  and I in him  the same bringeth forth much fruit ---for without  ME  you can do nothing---

ACTS 3:26  unto you first  GOD  having raised up  HIS  SON  JESUS  sent  HIM  to bless you in turning away every one of you from his iniquities

2 TIMOTHY 2:19  nevertheless the foundation of  GOD  standeth sure having this seal  THE  LORD  knoweth them that are  HIS  and let ---every one that nameth the name of  CHRIST  depart from iniquity---

Even were that true, it would not be a scriptural condition. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, not ourselves taking control of ourselves.

Yes, but  it is something that we can seek and this depend on us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
