I make wooden jewelry/trinket boxes. I go all out on them. I give them out as gifts for the holidays and people love them. Some of the times, they want more for different reasons.

Those cards with things like Unto Us A Child Is Born, For God So Loved The World, His Name Is Jesus, Immanuel....are an added testimony to the world that Jesus Saves!

Yeah, that's true. But the shops usually have those types of cards at the back of the shop, while the humourous, secular cards that usually focus on getting drunk are everywhere! Well they are in the shops near me anyway.

I write poetry for everyone, so I have to start my Christmas gifts early, too.

I agree that it gets pushed in stores WAY too early, and we Christians have to fight to make the true message show through all the materialism.

I don't mean this just to be cruel...but I think that materialism is the message of Christmas nowadays and there is no getting around it....so I'll have to start planning ahead to get everyone their gifts.

I've LOVE to have it over in August but that never happens before Dec 23rd

Why do people give gifts at christmass? i know why i do .but am curious why others do.I love christmass!!!!!!

I give gifts for 3 reasons.

1 I love to see the look on my kids' faces when they wake up christmas morning and see that Jesus is giving them presents.

2 I feel obligated to the inlaws because they always send me something.

3 The wife makes me.

I recently moved to another state two months ago, and for three Saturdays, went to yard sales. I bought Christmas things each week

Soon will be time to begin Christmas cards, too. That is an ongoing process, time consuming and I LOVE IT. Last year was the very first time in my life I did NOT send cards, and it upset me for months. I love it, and the opportunities to share the Gospel. I also do a letter to go inside the cards, plus something else extra.

As far as decorating, that begins in November, and does not go down until after my birthday, which is in January.

One year I left up my tree, only because someone told me I should not do that. Bye June, it had to go though, as I was expecting company from Florida

Ronald - as far as Christmas carols, music, etc., I listen to those often througout the year.

I think we need to be in the "MODE" of Christmas as far as giving year round, as far as friendliness, all year round, as far as loving, all year round.

Even with the move two months ago, I do have three Christmas items scattered through my apartment already
