King James Bible
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.     1 John 3:2

This morning as I partook of the Body & the Blood I thought"This physical partaking is done in MEMORY of you but I want more,I invite you to join me in all of this day because you are HERE with me" and suddenly a past memory came to mind......

My mother came to Florida from NY to live with me(after many years of estrangement). We were pretty much like oil & water by this time and one day she said to me,crying, sadly" Ive come all this way to be with you, given up everything & all my friends only to be all alone"  she went on to say" I live in your house & yet I'm all alone, you go out & about your business as though I'm not even here"

Now of course there is much more to the story but only her words came to mind as I asked Jesus to join me with my day......Praise Jesus! Boy does God get right to the point, doesnt He?  Jesus Abides in me,He Has Come to Live in my house & yet there are days I simply go about my business forgetting what all He Did to be here in my house.....Oh Glory to God Most High,my Redeemer Lives & I thank Holy Spirit brought remembrance to me....Funny,there is no condemnation,He Forgave & so I forgive myself....only God Almighty can bring back what would be a painful memory in Love and in Peace

So,I've often thought by one day wiping our tears away we might forget our painful memories but perhaps not,God Has a Better WAY.....we'll see:heart:

Just thought Id share that with y'all                             With love-in Christ, kwik

Thanks for sharing this. I hope your mother stopped feeling like a 3rd wheel. The connections you made there between your mother's plight and how the Lord must feel invite a lot of thought in my personal life.

I have been reading a bunch of works written by Andrew Murray. In one of his books I'm reading he drives some key points home that are very relevant to this thread. One of them is " Adide in Me " the other is " Day by Day".

I often tend to see life as a big picture. If it were a meal I would be looking at eating it all at once, so I think about later today, or later tomorrow or later this or next week. If I look at things this way it can feel overwhelming. If we remember to take life day by day, moment by moment, abiding in Him we see life in more manageable terms. No need to eat the whole elephant alone. We eat it one bite at a time with the Lord. Abiding in Him. We only need to get through the present abiding in Him. Moment by moment, day by day. We only need to cope with the now knowing the Lord will remain present with us through it all.

As for looking back I remember this verse. Luke 9:62

Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

For some reason, your post made me think of Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

But I also recall this really nice poem, written almost 20 years ago.  I thought of it, because it talks about not dwelling on the past or being anxious over the future.

ps, (oops) a link to the video forum is missing...here you go

Romans 8:28 comes to mind.

Those little snapshots we all have of our past that often are selective

I have always been somewhat of a photographer in our family..   I actually do have the snapshots to look through.  Actually there are just under 70 thousand of them at present.    My family on my fathers side was rather large in my grandmothers family and most of her brothers and sisters had good sized families.   We have a reunion once a year and I get to meet and see a couple of hundred cousins some years and I'm the go to guy for photos.

It is nice to put on some 50s and 60s music and let the screen saver randomly go through them to bring back memories, both good and bad.

Example:   I still remember this day, even though I was very young, for just after mom took this picture the turkey attacked me.  Took mom and my uncle to get the darn thing off me..     PTSD for sure  LoL

For the longest time, I was anchored to my past.  I hade a wonderful childhood, but in my teens and twenties my life fell apart. I had to deal with a very emotional health issue, My parents got divorced, and when I finally gto married in my early 20's she was taken away from me (died).  I fell on to God and gave it all end..... but I never stopped looking back at that perfect childhood.

Then one day I did go back, I went to the school of my perfect childhood and where the trouble first started

I sat on one bench and look across at the other bench and saw my 13 year old self....looking very worried.  I didn't know how this health problem would affect me and I was very scared. And I was wondering what would I say to him (if I could) and would I want to hear it?

And suddenly I remembered I was on the other side of all that trauma, and my life was good again, Married to a wonderful woman and living a full and happy Christian life

And I heard myself say out loud "You Craig, (yeah that's me) you are going to be okay."

And I smiled at myself and I felt a great weight lift off of me, and suddenly the past was no longer a problem, and I didn't miss the goodness of my childhood, because I realized I was on the other side of trouble and I was going to be okay

I was awoken in the middle of the night. I could hear a small voice " It will be ok" and it was :D

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
