My life is a works based life, I just can't help it my faith in God demands it. I THANK GOD for not having to be 'perfect' all the time (Whew!) cause I mess up (but no where near as much as when I first started) and knowing that makes it so much easier for me to keep trying.  I strive to acknowledge and repent of all sin that tries to creep into my life.  I strive to walk holy and I consider it A VERY GOOD THING and the very thing we are SUPPOSED to do.  The more I do on my own EFFORT (led by the Holy Spirit of course) the less transgressions/sin I commit, the less STRIPES I personally cause to the Lord and Saviour, the more ready I will be to serve where ever I may be assigned.  Not to mention that it sure would be nice to have that 'refining by fire' only singe me, rather than having to go all crispy.

I DO agree, works are most certainly NOT EVER done (nor ever can be) FOR THE GIFT of SALVATION receive when we first come to faith, but I do consider my works in EVERYTHING ELSE as GOOD THINGS.

WHY and when did 'works' become BAD?  Or am I reading it all wrong?  But it sure does seem as if ALL WORKS get turned into 'works salvation or works based salvation? If someone is not boasting of saving themselves, are they ever bad?

What is the difference?  How is it discerned?

Never having learned this through any of my reading my Bible, what verses speak to this?

When did this come about?  All I can think of right now is it must be from some 'tradition of man' based on some CONCLUSION possibly gained through scripture but not on scripture itself (again, because I have missed any connection) It just seems as if one 'conclusion' has FORCED this 'conclusion' and again, for me, THEY only serve to make void the words of God.

Where I am coming from is

Eph 2:10

Of Him for we are workmanship

HAVING BEEN CREATED in Christ Jesus
FOR WORKS GOOD

WHICH PREPARED BEFOREHAND
God that in them we should walk

WE ARE CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS FOR GOOD WORKS SO shouldn't a WORKS BASED ILIFE be A GOOD THING? (of course, unless used 'to boast of saving oneself',  has that ever been heard of?)

A Person who is truly justified by faith will have good works in their lifestyle. Works alone does not save a person.

James 2:14

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

Is there a purpose I am missing by the reiteration of this part of the post?

Some people do deeds or works in order to gain something from God in return like Matthew 6:3-4 says

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

when we do good deeds we don’t need to dwell on it or pat ourselves on the back, deeds done in righteousness mean more than works done for show

The Pharisees did works in public to “ display” their righteousness , but their hearts were filled with unrighteousness so they were so corrupted they couldn’t even recognize the son of God right in front of their own eyes even though everything Jesus did was righteousness

So their example is how works can be bad

Our Father knows our hearts ♥️ he knows if works are done in his name or just for show

SHALOM❤️

Is there? Perhaps you should pray about it and ask God.

If you would like to have a conversation I am all for it but there is no need to be so cryptic and then tell me I should perhaps be praying and asking God.  That's like saying I not only need to tell you the dream but give  the meaning also.  So PLEASE feel free to be straight forward and honest.  WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY?

Ephesians 2:10 tells us:

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Our good works in Christ come after salvation, as God prepared them beforehand so we would do them and live by them.

Hey DeighAnn,

A Prayer for God's Power
…5You welcome those who gladly do right, who remember Your ways. Surely You were angry, for we sinned. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins? 6Each of us has become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind. 7No one calls on Your name or strives to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and delivered us into the hand of our iniquity.…Isaiah 65:5-7

Because I love Jesus and I accepted His great of Salvation ,the good works works I do are not mine, from ,I  can't do anything good,it's all because of Jesus and the Holy Spirit that we long to live for Him and to do His will at all times.

But we often fail and thank God,Jesus is our mediator and will plead for us and when we ask God to forgive us our sins ,He will remember them no more..

15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

1 Peter 1:15

I thought I made it clear that you didn't.

So I'll ask again, what did you mean.  And please explain so that I could understand because at this point it just feels like you are being rude for no reason.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
