Anyone had any strange dreams lately?

I usually dream about companies I've worked at and they're refurbishing the office area and I don't know where my office is or what I'm suppose to be doing.  This is a variation of a repeat dream I had in college where I had skipped so many classes that when I went to attend a class, the classroom was moved to another building.  [This actually happened to me once.]

Anyone had any strange dreams lately?

 

I would think everybody's dreams would be strange or non nonsensical.

I have periods of remembering them upon awaking but usually not.
There is a lot of brain activity going during sleep on that triggers our emotions that cause/create jumbled memories.
I would say most of our dreams are influenced by or rehash of previous recent/past activities and discussions with others.
Some of my dreams are lewd, some scary, some trying to get away from threat, etc,  and most a mix of nonsense.
I would not consider any dream I have had was some kind of message from God.
God is not the author of confusion.

Maybe that guy in your nightmare about remodeling your home may have been me as in my years in construction as a carpenter,
I have many jobs that turned into real nightmares..............

So when you look for communication from God through feelings, intuitions or dreams you are looking outside of the designed parameters of what He has taught us in His Word of how we should know Him and His Will... 

 

 

Maybe I'm missing something here. I don't read one single thing in the references about dreams? In much the same way as some discount certain gifts of the spirit as having been long gone, it seems some throw the baby out with the bath water and discount dreams entirely.

While I believe dreams can fall into multiple categories, there ARE dreams from the Lord. Dreams are biblically supported.

Let me be more specific-

Acts 2:17-

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Genesis 41:13-13 

12 There was a young Hebrew man with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he told us what each of our dreams meant. 13 And everything happened just as he had predicted. I was restored to my position as cup-bearer, and the chief baker was executed and impaled on a pole.”

Proverbs 13:19

It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.

Genesis 20:3-7

3 But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him, “You are a dead man, for that woman you have taken is already married!”4 But Abimelech had not slept with her yet, so he said, “Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation? 5 Didn’t Abraham tell me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘Yes, he is my brother.’ I acted in complete innocence! My hands are clean.”6 In the dream God responded, “Yes, I know you are innocent. That’s why I kept you from sinning against me, and why I did not let you touch her. 7 Now return the woman to her husband, and he will pray for you, for he is a prophet. Then you will live. Genesis 28:12-13

As he slept, he dreamed of a stairway that reached from the earth up to heaven. And he saw the angels of God going up and down the stairway.13 At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and he said, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father, Isaac. 

I Kings 3:5

That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”

Job 33: 14-15

For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.15 He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds.

Matt. 2:12

When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.

There are MANY other references to dreams in the bible, but for lack of space I won't post them all.

In short, some dreams are a connection to the spiritual world. God uses dreams and so does the devil. I don't believe a Christian should think it strange if the Lord sends them a dream.This is bible.

I have had two dreams in all these years, that I am certain were the Lord and the Lord giving me specific direction telling me to go here and this will happen or telling me to go here to find out what happened.

The only explanation for such, for a child of God, is God's working.

It is my opinion that much of this sort of thing is for faith building and for testimony to help others.

I know that the Lord uses things in my life like this that have helped me in times of a dark storm and tribulation.

Each time this sort of thing occurs, there is a very specific lesson learned and never has been anything that could be construed as unscriptural.

Was just wondering because last night i had kind of a scary one...i was basically waiting in a downtown type area with some other people and then noticed a line of very young people, maybe even teenagers, walking by and sounded like they were singing that song "I'd like to teach the world to sing"? (You can find it on Youtube if you're not familiar with it.) Anyway almost immediately after they were gone, out of nowhere come these large utility type vehicles, kind of like the ones with the cranes, some longer than others. But they were going so fast that it took them almost no time to block off the streets and almost any possible exit. Then i noticed what looked like an abandoned shop so i went in to hide and saw people running by, and then it ended. But just thought i would throw that out there in case anyone else had some similar dreams.

(Also i forgot to mention that these vehicles seemed to be partly orange in color.)

My dreams are always strange. However I have had dreams that came from God. One Iwas inn a dark monistary laying on the floor. I was dying. Nex to me was  a person that was dressed like a monk. I could not see his face. He was praying for me. He was saying ABBA Soon after I was saved.
