Manna casserole? Creamed manna? Grilled manna on palm leaves? I see your point there @Dennis1209. I might have liked the chocolate covered manna.

Being a meat and potatoes man myself I can see where the same food for a long time could get a little boring. My prayer might be " Lord this isn't absolutely necessary, but if you could please rain a few slices of cheese and some greens down I would greatly appreciate it.Maybe a chicken wing or two?" :whistling:

Recollecting back before this the Israelite had been in bondage for 400 years to the Egyptians. They were slaves treated like cattle. All of the miraculous things that had happened to get them where they were was nothing short of amazing. All of the plagues sent to Egypt that none of them felt, but all of them seen.

How quickly a sense of entitlement sets in. Who knows? Maybe the manna was a test from God. We tend to take each stage of blessing for granted and then want something else it seems.

Ecclesiastes 1:7-9

…7All the rivers flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full; to the place from which the streams come, there again they flow. 8All things are wearisome, more than one can describe; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear content with hearing. 9What has been will be again, and what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.…

the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear content with hearing.

....and apparently the belly is never satisfied either. Men seem to always think MORE will solve the problem.

We drive by some very rich neighborhoods here sometimes. HUGE houses. Three and four car garages. Enough room for four families in one house. You get the picture. What are they doing to some of these houses? Adding on more space to them.

Jeff Bezos CEO of Amazon is building the largest yacht in the world. This yacht is so large he is paying to have a bridge removed temporarily so he can get it from port to the ocean. They now have submarine yachts. These ships are also submarines that can stay under water for extended periods of time. These are private vessels not military.

I believe this goes to show that men are never satisfied. No matter how much money they have. No matter how much you give someone they want more.

I sometimes hear conversations among Christians about what they are up to and it's surprising how much of these conversations are centered around the same kinds of things the world is after. They are doing this and doing that and going here and going there. I am often involved in a home repair project, so you might see me discussing some of that too. My point though is, that if we're going to brag, lets brag about Jesus. The best thing that ever happened to us should be Jesus. If it wasn't, then we are no different from the world.

Amen and Amen and Amen!!!

There might be an ebb and flow here and there, but the general global trend and outlook are not promising at all. We now have the most incompetent, inept, God-hating, antisemitic government and administration in the history of the United States, in my opinion. From here on out, I don't believe things are going to bode well for the U.S.

Lest we forget...

"I once was young and now am old,
yet never have I seen the righteous abandoned or their children begging for bread"

Psalm 37:25

And our God is still on the throne!

I don't know if the following has already been broached or not. But.... If we look to people and things to make us happy, then we will find disappointment. For when these things fail, we personally feel let down and wounded. But if we look to Jesus, then we will never be disappointed. He will never let us down.

I think of joy of the Lord like I do the Peace that is available to us In Christ. Both are not the same as the world can give. We can know His provisions in the midst of the worse storm.

Its different. I use another thought to get this across. Happiness is a fleeting state and moving. Contentment is a rock.

My mom once said that happiness is over rated. Not knowing, she hit on something I learned from.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
