I just made a post on another thread that I would like to comment on, expand, and question. I think I already know the answer to my question about America, but I am not sure if it is the same in all Western countries or globally.

Specifically, using our Lord’s name in vain or flippantly is plastered in most movies, television shows, liberal talk shows, and everyday conversation and communication. It offends me and hurts to the core. I will get to the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech in a moment.

Another thing that bothers me is those Grammarly-challenged people who insert the word “like” in every other word in a sentence. I am getting off-topic from what I want to convey and ask.

Why are Allah, Mohammad, and Buddha’s names not used in vain and flippantly in the United States and globally, or are they? Is using our Lord’s name in vain and flippantly isolated to America and the English-speaking world, or is it also global?

With the addition of hate crime laws in America, when will it be a crime to disparage Allah, Islam, and its prophet? Would that be considered hate speech and inciting violence, as this pattern is now trending?

Our government officials have labeled true Christianity as hate speech, and we are domestic terrorists, a basket of deplorables. Islamic radicals spew hate speech constantly and act upon their hateful convictions and beliefs. Try commenting on Islam, Mohammad, and Buddha on social media platforms, the way they talk about our Lord and Savior and see what happens.

My question is to those Worthy Forum members in countries other than America. Does the population use our Lord’s name in vain and flippantly? Is it tolerated if someone negatively speaks of Allah or Mohammad in truth? Just curious? I believe we are arriving at what Jesus said:

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

I found some things online concerning muslim curse words, but, I am interested in what those from other countries have to say about this . . . . I think that it is a very fair question to ask . . .

There are so very very many languages in the world.. so I can't speak for all of them.. but I am thinking it might in part possibly be an English language thing....?

(If I am mistaken I hope someone would please let me know :b:)

As for my own country.. for conversations in english language.. I am not sure.. but I don't think many people would delibrately use the word Jesus as a cuss word.. because the word is considered linked to religion..

However for citizens of my country who might have lived abroad for several years.. or who might be influenced by things such as the language on american etc movies on satelite tv..etc..  I am not sure if any of them would use the word Jesus in that way..or not....

Sorry I am not of much help .. (maybe I live a sheltered life? :b: )

But I do think it might possibly be more specific to english language compared to many other languages..

Just my opinion.

Thanks.

Unfortunatly using the name of our saviour and God our father as  casual insults is very common here in Britain as is the "F"  word often even used together. That silly word " like " is also used as one would a comma ,,,,,,  My own grandchildren ( and children ) wouldnt dare do so in front of me and every time I hear them say " like " I simply annoy them by replying " Oh so it os not actually that but similar " They get the message fast.

I once had to work with a man who got angry easily and always said " F in hell "  till I pointed out that it was possible and I was sure he would let us know when he got there . IT caused others to start thinking about what they were saying and he never said it again when I was around as he was afraid of being laughed at again. I dont even think they actually think about what they are saying it is just an ingrained social reaction sadly

My adult daughter, a bank manager, started using that vocabulary in conversations with us. The first ‘20’ uses of the word like in a paragraph was humorous at first; I thought she was doing a beatnik Dobbie Gillis on us. However, it continued.

I wanted to get pen and paper, jot down how many ‘likes’ I was receiving, and bring to her attention how popular she was making me. She lives out of state, and we infrequently see her and our new grandson, so I removed my false teeth and bit my tongue. Still an ouch 😊

I thought of like asking her, like when you write your employee’s performance appraisals, like do you pay any attention, like to the way you come across? Sincerely, like Dad.

I suppose that idiom is from the amount of time on social media? It is as bothersome as all get out, and it drives me Cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs. Like you know, what was the point of school and college? Like why are bad habits easier to pick up than good ones?

To the central question, my observation over the years is a kind of spirit or attitude of antichrist.

Jesus is light, and makes darkness/sin more dark. This makes some more aware of their shortcomings.

Buddha does not hold that same space.

I would add that the Spirit of Christ leads us into a greater self-awareness, becoming cognizant of our own shortcomings --- we examine ourselves first. We remember who and where we once were, giving thanks to the Lord that we are the work of His hand. Salvation is the gift of God.

His gift of life opens our hearts and minds so that we are merciful, not harsh; forgiving, and not vengeful.

Do not be surprised nor dismayed that the world hates Him, my friends. I expect nothing less from this world of men.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
