well this topic has been talked about and talked about ... but as for me i feel that women and men can preach ... i have went to other churches and heard women preach that was under the annointing of God . and it was very enlightening ... but as for pastor i am not sure that a women can lead a church .. not because she is not able to but because i think the word of God is stating that... think that man is to lead our homes and our church... even though again i say a women can do the job and do it well.. just that we are not called of God for that as in a pastor.. but again preaching in church or where ever i see no reason that a woman cant do that ... think we are all called to spread the gospel ect.....

God bless everyone ... sister vicki

It's not about what "we feel". It's about what "God Says".

Jer 31:22 How long will you gad about,

O you backsliding daughter?

For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth--A woman shall encompass a man."

strong's/ compass #05437 in this case the word POEL translates to a woman shall protect a man.

Hmmm......sounds to me as if God has something different to say about the popular thinking that woman has no place other than keeping quiet and the kids under control.

we would not have this problem if men were not too scared and were willing to step up and take their full role with in the body

i understood what paul was saying and i am also a man who will not alow a women to have authority over me but were i am diffrent to sevral male posters who have posted in this topic is this

my partner is a pastor and she has 7 pastors under her in her country the women are more strong in their walk and more on fire for god than the male counterparts their are two male pastors in her team and when i am their on the 29th of jan i will be pushing these brothers to take their full role

as once my citazen ship is aproved for me to live in the phillippines i am going to be raised from with in and pastoring the new church that has just been planted in lacastaliana my partner has asked me to take full control that means it wil be my role as head pastor to feed the flock yet she will still have her role and she wil work close with me and i will pull back and alow my wife to be to also preach as we work as a team

when i am living hear and working in my role as a goverment foster carer she prays for me my partner builds me up and encourages me to be the man i am meant to be

and i do the same thing with her i have gotten into some heated arguments deffending my partner but i do not bow down so simple and i do not let no male pull her down or tell her that her role is in the kitchen and looking after the home and when we do decide to have kids it wil not be her doing all the work i wil have an active role

we have also seen this hear in my country were the men have stepped back and allowed the women to take over women are more good at leading i have seen this and i know of sevral prophetic gifted female evengalists

my pastor with sevral other pastors have ran camps also we live in a world were a women has every right to do what a man can do and if you put a women down or discriminate against her you can end up in court

were i use to work as a security gaurd in kings cross we were freaked out when we started to see female security gaurds the group of newzelanders i was working with were all big like me and we could handle our selves very wel yet what got up our nose is why on earth have a women patroling the clubs we were working in

how on earth was a women to handle her self if a big bloke were to attack her with a beer glass or come back with 5 of his mates and teach you a lesson as we use to ban people and its not nice telling some one they can not come back

one gaurd did this and 7 asians came back and shot him in front of the manager and in front of the clients i knew him and when i found out i was mad and we wanted revenge but we had to work so we could not leave and do what we were about to do

yet us security gaurds had to get use to the idea of having female security gaurds working along side us weather we liked it or not though it did not stop us testing the new female gaurds just to see how well they can handle them selves and we would pick a fight and step back and have the female gaurd try to control the situation with manager watching our manager was not stupid he new we were not going to be easy on the female gaurds we would pay our friends we new who would be mad enough to do what we wanted them to do and these guys were mean every time a new female gaurd would come on we would go out of our way to make it uncomfterbal for her to the point were she quits

and i have seen this also from with in the body its like a mans club in some churches and the men will make it hard for a women to move forward

my partner has rang me sevral times in tears ready to give up and walk away all together but i have had to push her and encourage her to hang in their

their are men who will not allow a women to have authority over them it all goes back to the garden god created adam first i was one of these men and i had to repent of some things i held on to but i am still a man who understands what paul said but i do not go out of my way to put my sisters down who are called to serve god and are ordianed i pray for them and i will stand up and support them even if it means me getting back lash from my brothers in the lord i have learnt to stand on my own two feet

god bless from your brother in the lord damo1

Hello,

I am needing clarification on women pastors allowing to serve in the Shephard's capacity.

I feel that there is a calling there with some of these, but I really do not know how to make the determination of pastorial ministy.

Thank you, Gentlesound

Regarding women preachers;

God does call women to preach. There is as much contraversey regarding the subject, whether God calls women to preach as there is on all other doctrinal issues. Thankfully, as always, the Scriptures clear up this question like they do all others matters if we will but believe the Bible.

In the gospel there were several woman messengers who proclaimed the good news (Matt. 28:1-10; Luke 24:9-11; John 4:28-30; 20:16-18). In Acts we have a prediction that God will pour out of His Spirit in the last days "UPON ALL FLESH; and your sons and DAUGHTERS shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; and upon my servants and upon my HANDMAIDENS I will pour out of my Spirit and they will prophesy." Prophesying is explained in 1 Cor. 14:3-4 as "speaking unto MEN to edification and exhortation and comfort." Thats preaching, teaching, praying, in anyones language. and God says He will pour out His Spirit upon men and WOMEN to enable them to do this!

These following passages prove to any unbiased mind that prophesying is for the church which has men and WOMEN members (1 Cor. 12:1-13; 14:1-6, 12, 24-26, 29-33).

In Acts 21:8-9 we read Philip had four daughters that did prophecy or preach in the early church.

In Romans 16 we have Phebe, Priscilla, Mary Junia, Tryphosa, Persis, all female names, women mentioned as laborers in the gospel.

In Phil. 4:2-3 we have Euodias and Syntyche, two women who are emntioned as leaders in the local church at Philippi. They are refered to as "those WOMEN which labored with me in the Gospel."

Paul speakes of the Corinthian women prophesying and praying in church (1 Cor. 11:4; 14:1-5, 23-26).

When paul said for women to "keep silence in the church" he was not speaking of women prophesying or praying, but he referred to asking their husbands certain things at church. He said, "If they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home" and not in the church (1 Cor. 14:34-35). But that they could speak and prophecy and pray in church is clear from 1 Cor. 11:4; 14:3-4, 23-26; and Acts 2:16-21.

Women have been used in all ages by God, Read (Ex. 15:20; Judges 4:4; 2 Kings 22:14; 2 Chron. 34:22; Neh. 6:14; Isa. 8:3; Luke 1:39-56; 2:36). God is soverign and He can use a woman when He pleases and He does not have to ask some mere man whom He should use and whether He should use a women or man.

"Why Not Women?" is an excellent Bibilically studied book that reviews every scripture and answers every argument against.

I would suggest further study of God's Word over any other book. At least you get a clear picture from the most important view, God's view.

The thing that buggs me about this issue is that people will state "those verses don't mean what they say" yet they hold to other verses so strongly as meaning exactly what they say. From the SAME passages. We can't have it both ways, either it means what it says or not! Either it's trustworthy or not.

In this day and age with so many lost and the return of Jesus so iminit in our hearts, We need all the help we can get in defence of the gospel, and if women like Joyce Myers help reach 100.000.000's, I don't beleive the Lord would object.

your looking at it from a human point of view.

as long as you hold on to His word He'll be alright.

youre looking at it as though "God needs help....."

God does not need help.

you do what you can to spread the news of Jesus Christ but do it

within the guidelines He gave you.

If you step outside of His guidelines and think He accepts then you better write a new bible.

Women were NEVER priests in Israel and this has been consistent, but indeed women have been leaders in Israel and have been very influential and powerful throughout all of scripture and Christian history.

Maybe the confusion is the idea that a Pastor, Deacon or Bishop is always the only leader or some sort of supreme leader? I know for example in my congregation the Pastor works directly for the Church Council that Council binds itself to the doctrine of our denomination and teachings of that denomination, the Pastor is simply a spiritual position and yes it does hold spiritual authority, but it is far from the only leader of a congregation.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
