Of course we need the scriptural record. In the majority of the orgsnized church, the saints would be lost without it.

My point was and I thought I was clear, if my words were read without seeing something not there…that those without scripture throughout history, did fine. Why? Because of our Shepherd and Christ within and the Paraclete.

For sure. And also, those who had the scriptures written in their hearts who shared the word, mouth to mouth. Today, we, who have so much more, will be  required much, when our time comes to give an answer to our creator, for our testimony..

Sorry sis, I disagree, God spoke to Moses he also speaks to us through the Holy Spirit.

You seem to not be understanding we all have said God is able but will He! God's Word states

2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV)

[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

clearly God is saying His written Word ->IS<- sufficient for all matters in life and you believe God right? So if He has made His Word sufficient why would He be talking to individuals in a different means other that His written Word? Wouldn't that be saying one thing then making it null and void by doing another?

I agree. There is more to say, but hard to hear….for a great many.

God has clearly made what His Word is in this world and without the vanities of philosophy of what if's

2 Timothy 3:15 (KJV)

[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

and it couldn't be more clear if it bit you in the face...

I wonder if folks have ever given thought to the many thousands of believers since Pentecost across the world, who had no bibles available to them…for many centuries and how they managed?

Blessings Brother

I think something is amiss here& that some are not actually listening( or Receiving)'exactly what Brother enoob is Saying(,& maybe even what Im saying) because from what Im reading in every single reply to his question every single answer is the same.... Its really quite astonishing & believe me its been hours of me doing this

Some answered " no" , like myself and some answered " yes" & yet they are all in one accord.,., the misunderstanding here is that sone think Brother Steven is talking about having a Bible as if the Bible is the only way to Receive Gods Word and that was not his question

Surely its our handbook but His Word( the Holy Scriptures, the Written Word, the Living Word, Gods Word, Jesus the Word) should be seared into out hearts... No doubt you must all agree with this!

Now , we can RECEIVE a Word by the Power of Holy Spirit in a number of ways and on many an issue and in many a circumstance and on the biggest of ordeals or the teeniest problems but it will NEVER contradict or oppose what the Word of God Says .Of course the simplest Way to confirm is to open a Bible just as we read in the Book of Acts when they searched the Scriptures to test the Word their minds Received.....

And as far as the Apostles go or the thousands of Believers since Pentecost did and how they managed was by going to elders, leaders etc.....If the Apostles searched the Scriptures to test the spirits then we better Believe its a practice to keep and they " gathered"to do these things and to confirm, proohecy, interpret etc ... And churches were set up.    Same as the Jews before Jesus went to synagogue to HEAR Gods Word because not every Jew had scrolls or could even read the Scriptures.... But amazingly many passed it on by word of mouth

Well, my point it seems everyone says the same thing alot & then oddly enough says they dont agree?

At this point I kinda lost track of what we are even tslking about after I read the little passive agressive remarks here & there behind the guise of please & thank yous... I dont like it and its unnecessary

Anyway Im into a little rant triggered by your statement Brother ... You see you dont always listen well either and neither do I but Im REALLY listening now snd I dont like what I hear.....

Like John D Says... Actually he said whst God Says:

The Word of God is not open for personal interpretation....

We can say things differently, see things slightly differently, understand and brlievr somevthings differently but when it comes to the Word if God we need to be in one accord- thsts why theres no Power operating in the churches today, the one &only hindrance to Holy Spirit Power Moving through & Amonst US.... is us

The Holy Spirit teaches me outside of scripture because the Holy Spirit is not the word (scripture), but the helper.

The Holy Spirit helps guide me through life in all manners of decision making by reminding me what the word says about my current situation.

And God clearly indicates that his word is Alive and Active ,sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to the dividing soul and spirit ,joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.

Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

So please don’t limit God to the Bible, .....as his his word above has spoken...he is “ Alive And Active”.....

Brother enoob never limited God to " the Bible"..,.. " the Bible" does not limit God anyway- it is comprised of His Living Word that has no limit- yes, He is Alive and with or without a " Bible" His Word is Alive

But, every Written Word is as it us, His Word Does not change , stands forever and we must stand on that Word firmly, knowing what we know and not feeling what we feel which basically. was the point Brother started with.......I think ? Like I just said to Brother Alive, its getting blurred now because I dont like remarks towards anyones Faith and stuff like thst

You & think differently and there are no little curve balls thrown.... I know you love Jesus, you know I love Jesus, we love one another..... Simple, right?

Again..... This is exactly my point

Your saying Holy Spirit teaches you OUTSIDE.   of Scripture & then you said REMINDING me what THE WORD Says

That is NOT outside of Scripture, that is perfectly aligned with Scrioture as Holy Spirit does indeed bring Remembrance!!!

Now. heres the thing what Im saying about enoobs question..... Hes not talking about receiving a Word fron God only by reading the Bible! The Bible is Written on your heart and you must have read/ heard His Word/ Bible at some point or how could Holy Spirit Remind you of something you never heard! Right?

So you see, your answer is in one accord even though it sounds different

With love in Christ, Kwik

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
