How Far Are You Willing to Travel for a Great Church?

The shorter the better. A long trip to church every week will probably wear on you.

No smaller local congregations anywhere at all? These can be harder to locate since many of these smaller groups don't advertise as extensively as larger groups often do. In my area we have a local newspaper that has community news. There is a section in there where churches have their info. What about looking online? Have you searched churches locally online?

I guess i would travel maybe a couple 1000 miles or so if i felt like God was leading me to become a part of a certain congregation or ministry...but doesn't seem like too many people are willing to relocate just for that purpose? Unless of course you have no job, no family and no future, and after leaving you will have no home. Almost like Matthew-13:12...?

Always wondered about those houses right next door to some churches and if those people actually went there? Or if maybe the Pastor or a member stopped by and inquired about that?

I personally don't. I'm housebound that doesn't matter a whole lot for me because I feel like the modern world has gotten away from the idea of what a church is supposed to be. To my way of thinking any gathering of believers can qualify as a church, and God isn't limited by distance or technology. So long as we're giving and receiving spiritual guidance, supporting each other in prayer and whatever other ways we're able to, and bearing one another's burdens even an online forum like this one could be a church.

2nd church, same thing. These are the BEST run churches in town. 

I am not looking for perfection. I am looking for service messages which are relevant and coherent and for staff and congregations that think and act with integrity.

I used to cross state lines to attend one in Delaware (and usually, technically, two states lines, passing through Pennsylvania) that I thought was a good church. But not so. And it was a great mistake of mine to go to that place. And now that I'm wiser than I was when I did that, I realize there are no churches I know of that are worth attending.
