God "gives us richly all things to enjoy." (n 1 Timothy 6:17)

For us, why do we get more than we deserve?

I think of this > there can be blessings we even are not ready to handle now; but we can grow and mature so we learn how to handle them.

Great question!

I sometimes look at my two little Yorkies. I love those little dogs, yet what do they ever do for me? In terms of actually doing a physical thing that would be beneficial, other than a loving lick- Nothing. They can't cook, they can't do the dishes, they can't even talk to me. What they do offer is unlimited love and affection which means more to me than any of the other stuff they can't do.

They want nothing more than to see me come home and when I'm home all they want to do is hang out with me. Wherever I go they want to go.

I try to keep them in the fence, but if one escapes to the neighbors house and gets into a fight with another dog or gets into the brambles, they will pay the price for it. One fell in the pool once and would have drowned if I had not been there.

Like my attachment to those dogs, I think God wants our love and adoration. He wants our genuine respect and worship. He wants our obedience to Him. When we fall away, He is sad. He knows there will be repercussions. A life of sexual bondage or drugs will have consequences and He is glad when we move away from those things.

And while we generally reap what we sow on this earth, if we are His children, He has sent His son to cover an eternity away from Him.

I only want the best for my Yorkies, the best food for them, the best that life can be for a dog. This is what I think God desires for us. The best we can have down here, even though we live in a fallen world. He wants us top seek Him for all of our relationships, for all of our life choices since these will only be the best for us.

Eudaimonia: the Greek word  for “happiness”, or more accurately, “the flourishing life” or “the good life”.

This past weekend I came across a preacher on the radio. He was talking about a time when Christian Folk was being tortured for righteousness sake. Beheading, burned alive and other types of persecution.  Then He said, about the time this was occurring,  that, " It was not a good time to be a Christian. " I changed the channel before he got 2 more words out.

Of course it was, at the very least, the wrong thing to say.  I  don't understand how any Christian could even entertain the notion of a time that being Christian is "..not a good time.." I didn't invest any time into considering his views.

But it did strike a cord. I have heard other preachers say if you ain't suffering persecutions then something is terribly wrong in your life. It means the devil ain't out to get you cause he's already got you. Nonsense.

Earlier in this thread someone suggested that they were being blessed by God but not due to persecutions. I find that acceptable.

Others do suffer persecutions at various degrees and celebrate the blessings of God through their endurance.  I find that equally acceptable.

What He has for me is for me. What He has for you is for you.  But all is for the glory of God.

I know that we cannot come to God unless he draws us near.  So why does God call on some of us but not ALL of humanity?  For instance, my older sister (70's) has no interest in seeking God yet I am obsessed with doing so.  Is there a reason(s) for this?  Thanks in advance.

Hello, the sort answer to your question is that you should leave your sister alone in this matter as she has to leave you alone in what you have decided to do...

From what you are saying it seems that you were born in a Christian believing family.

Jesus accepts us because of the faith we have in our heart that he died on the Cross for the forgivenes of our sins...

Please remember something as Jesus said "give unto Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar and to God what belongs to God...

If that's is all we are ok, but when we have a family then we should add and give to your family what belongs to your family..

Besides this unsolicited "cold guidance ", if your sister asked you something and she needs you to visit her for some reason or go some place and it happens to be Sunday..Make the choice Jesus will love...spent the day with her, if not you are going to regret it later on...and it could be that what Jesus wants you to do. Jesus  cares about people and about your sister and it may be very important to her as she is now older...

After all you may experience something that you did not expect it and this is it that Jesus was there with you and discover that he can be with you and not only when you are in the Church worshiping together with other believers...

I wouldn't want to just give you a reason for this; but we can bless others, as God blesses us. Our cup runs over.

So, keep being blessed by God, so then you can bless her . . . and anyone else, whomever God has getting blessed through you.

"nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3)

God is trusting us with every person, for us to love. And He uses good example to reach and bless people.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
