Giving money to a ministry that isn't legit is no better.

Well, that may be a major problem. Some ministries may eventually be seen as nothing more than a sham and scam.

Very simply, if he is working with say open doors in the near east, I can look at what they say abouit the near east, and see what they are asking for prayer in the different countries. There will be examples of people in those countries.

I have been receiving prayer letters from different missionary organisations for years, including supporting a missionary to Algeria and I have never before encountered a missionary who would not say what organisation they work for.

Well first & foremost let's be very clear.  Estera said " thanks but no thanks" as she is not looking for financial support so that should be that.

So you never encountered anyone not willing to tell you the name of their organization, here is your first & time to move on from it imo

Here is a beautiful, charitable Sister simply asking for prayer, spiritual &moral support from us- is that so much to ask?

Remember WHO we Represent to all our readers- & walk the talk!

It may well serve as a red flag.

Years ago, I was at a forum in which the owner of the forum announced that he needed funds for a medical procedure. A lot of posters forked over some money to help pay for the procedure (through "Go fund me). A short while after that, the owner confessed that is not why he needed the money. Some of the posters were pissed off. Shortly after that, the forum was shut down.

It sounds like a con job.  I wonder what kind of forum that was?  Obviously, people lie through their teeth and people can fall for it, to the point they give money naively.  It has happened to me in the past, and I am ashamed to say so.  But I learnt my lesson and have moved on.

I would rather give a bit to 10 scammers than to pass on one who really needs it.  But I am naïve that way.  Always falling for the sad story.  At least I don't let them into my home anymore.

Now I just figure GOD needs their scams to be written in the book and HIS Children need to be clothed and fed.  This way I am covering both ends.

And a clear conscience, WORTH EVERY PENNY to me.

ALL THINGS work for the good of GOD.

I feel sad that it’s not ok to come and say “hey guys, I’m carrying a heavy load and could use some prayer/encouragement…” without giving info I’m not ok with sharing on an Internet forum. I had no intention of coming here to talk about the organization I’m with, or to ask for money.  I was looking for some emotional and spiritual support, because I’m walking a hard path and sometimes it’s very lonely and very heavy.

Our organisation is very small… we don’t have big teams to arrange security, so we have to be extra careful. I have good reasons to be careful, and honestly, it doesn’t matter if you believe me or not…. I’m just sad because I was excited find this forum after months of trying to find somewhere I might fit in.

I was sharing because these issues are real and because I’m actually struggling a bit and was trying to find some friends who might just be willing to listen and pray.

I don’t even have a bank account… so how exactly I’d be trying to get money, I really don’t know.  But Jesus knows the truth and that’s all that matters.

Thanks to those of you who haven’t assumed such things about me, it makes it hurt less.

I am sorry too.  Maybe you can do what most of us cant do and that is to let go of any sad/bad and hold onto the good.  We live in cynical times.  And you have to understand the ones who have the deepest wounds have them for a reason.

Hopefully you will stay and find a way.  After all, we know it isn't without persecution but when you find that niche, it will be worth the fight.

There are some really nice people here and you can feel it when you read their posts.  I would like to say I am one of them, but I'm not,  :( but I promise I am working on it and :emot-pray: ing too, so it could be any day now and we could be :emot-dance:.  So hopefully we'll be seeing you around...

Thanks sister, I think you are lovely and I can see there are some very kind people here, you are right.   I don’t hold anything against anyone, and I don’t want to give up on this place.  But I have too on my plate in real life to add dealing with online strife :crosseyed:

That is how you are supposed to feel. Nobody, that I know of, likes to be cheated, swindled, or conned out of things (money). As the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

And no one, in their right mind, would say something like: Hey, I've got some good news! I got conned by a con artist and lost money. The other person would look at you and probably think of you as a fool.

Here is one problem with the internet and especially online communities like this one. There is not a whole lot of transparency between posters. All I know, as you do, is what another poster tells me about himself or herself. That is all we know. And what they say about themselves may be true or may be not true (false). So, caution is always in order.

And that isn't to say that another person who approaches you, me, or anyone else is doing so in bad faith. But it's just the way things are, and the fact that some people can and do lie. (I'm speaking here is terms of "possible worlds".)

Finally, while there may not be a lot of transparency from the poster of the OP, I still think she approached this forum in good faith.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
