What other ways can a person know Jesus?

Hi missmuffet, something I need to clarify, if someone tells me this is how I got to know Jesus, I will never say something against it..

I will say something that some people not only want accept but also they will speak against it..

When someone said that he got to know first the Devil before he got to know Jesus..most people did not accept that..he was a wonderful man and some people got in touch with their inner guidance (that's what they said) and accused him for having s demon. And some took the initiative to try and cast out the demon.

They were asking him, what is your name and the man said why? But to be friendly he told them his name: and then they said to them selves...the devil is a liar...tell us what is your name...and the man again told him his name...I do not need to say the rest...they did not accept their error to apologize for their falsely accusing him..

Till the time when one elder came out of his office and he ask to find out what was happening...then the elder was like Stephen full of the Holy Ghost and he said "I was in my office and the Holy Spirit told me "go out and see what is happening ",

And the man said "I do not know why?" That moment the Holy Spirit told him "this is the man I said I am going to send to you, take care of him..and he said to him "He is your musician, and he is very hungry ", imidiadly they gave him something to eat, but the Lord said he is very hungry because he had put music and songs to write in his heart...that were the catalist for the church to grow and learn to worship the Lord in songs and music.. the income from his music recitals help the church with their dept and to establish summer camps for the underpriviledge youths as he said that he had grown in foster homes and that was important for him.

If I tell you his name you are going to freak out.

I do not see that as a positive way to know God.

They used to say when we get to Heaven, there will be 3 surprises. First, we will be surprised at the people who are there, that we never expected to see there. Second, we will be surprised at the people we were sure would be in Heaven that are not there. And third, we will be most surprised that we are there. Because there was nothing we ever did to merit or earn the right to be in Heaven.

This man did not get to know God, HE GOT TO KNOW JESUS....through the music he put in his heart, gifts from the Holy Spirit...

You can always have your say...no need to give reasons why.

I know a lady who claims to follow Jesus.  The issue is, she created her own image of what Jesus is like in her eyes and that is who she is following, not the Jesus of the bible.  She also tells me that the bible is a lie and written by men who wanted to control humanity.  When someone tells me they follow Jesus, I look closely to see what their Jesus is like by their fruits.

I am sure many hold here view. Very sad. My own father said he did not believe in the Bible because he thought that men wrote the Holy Bible and that is not inspired by God.

I obviously communicated very poorly.  Please forgive me.  I don't know how much Bible study the young lady had but I presume that she's had some and maybe she knows it better than most.  My point was that she might be more filled with the Holy Spirit and closer to God than a Bible scholar with thousands of followers.

Matthew 20:16

English Standard Version

16 So the last will be first, and the first last.”

That's quite probable...

Since you used 'might' I would have to say true.

A lot probably depends on the scholar, his or her heart and what he or she is studied in. Many men are very learned in false doctrines which could lead a person away from God rather than to God.

The very best head knowledge learned without a heart connection to God leaves out the ability to discern through wisdom.

This begs the question, how do we get close to God? Does it involve a bunch of study?

I certainly believe study helps to know the will of God and what He would have us to know about Him through His word.

Getting close to God involves relinquishing what we want to control through the flesh to Him..Less of us, more of Him. Prayer is another way to get close to God besides study.

We spend time together in order to build  a relationship.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
