Why do heroes never have bold plans of their own?

Christians of past eras were known for having big dreams and plans.

They once sought to capture Jerusalem and the Holy Land during the Crusades. Painters like Michaelangelo sought to create artistic masterpieces in chapels to express the awe inspiring beauty and wonder of God's creation. The founding fathers once sought to construct a christian nation where citizens would have the right and freedom to practice their own faith and religion.

If christians in the year 2022 had a grand blueprint for making the world a better place that God could approve of, what would it be.

Could it be a marxist plan of free healthcare, free eduacation or free incentives offered by the state.

Could it perhaps be something borderline controversial such as argentina legislating gay marriage with an 80% roman catholic population demographic as occurred in years past.

Could Elon Musk furthering technology in EVs and space exploration be something that furthers christian ideals.

What format might an ambition for a modern christian nation resemble?

If God approved of us making an effort to change the world in some way, what might it look like.

Roman Catholicism has given world domination a good go and still has aspirations to achieve it, albeit trending more towards Mystery Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth rather than towards seeking God's Kingdom and His Righteousness first.

The following passages gives a very good perspective on God's intentions for mankind.

Act 17:22-31  Then Paul stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that in every way you are very religious.  (23)  For as I walked around and examined your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore what you worship as something unknown, I now proclaim to you.  (24)  The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands.  (25)  Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.  (26)  From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands.  (27)  God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.  (28)  ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’  (29)  Therefore, being offspring of God, we should not think that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by man’s skill and imagination.  (30)  Although God overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now commands all people everywhere to repent.  (31)  For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

Rev 14:6  Then I saw another angel flying overhead, with the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation and tribe and tongue and people.

Blessings from Michael37.

A grand ambition should be to spread the gospel. That is what we are told to do.

A greater number of republicans supported recent marxist programs than democrats.

The 2020 presidential election would not have been as close as it was had many conservatives and republicans not voted for Biden in favor of the "free stuff" he promised them. Biden and democrats put medicare for all on the table, which many older americans supported thinking it would amount to the universal healthcare system europeans tout.

Preaching the gospel? Ok good answer, thank you.

"The ignorance of earlier times."

That would appear to indicate humanity is developing intelligence, greater wisdom and morality over time.

Perhaps that type of development is one goal God has for us.

Honestly, I'm not certain what God would approve of there.

Many claim marriage is a sacred institution but given the divorce rate rising so high. The sanctity of marriage may not be what it used to. If it indeed ever was an especially sacred institution.

The bible says one man lying with another is an abomination. Christians usually forgot eating pork and lobster are also labeled abominations in the old testament.

I don't know if there is a clear answer to whether gay marriage should be allowed. At least a clear answer based on scripture. Yes I know its an abomination. But so is pork and lobster. I notice many christians have no issues with those.

Milo Yiannopoulus could be a good source and authority figure on this. He had interesting statistics he once cited where he claimed that rates for domestic abuse are far higher for lesbian couples than they are for hetero couples. If true that could be one strike against gay marriage but I would like to have more information on the topic before I tried to guess whether God would support it or not.

Paul speaks out against it in the New Testament.

As for grand plans I feel like God is wrapping things up and we're moving toward the Tribulation. The world's culture is moving away from Christianity so any world affecting grand plans are going to be few and far between. I know a guy in Uganda struggling to make ends meet as he runs a Christian orphanage/school. That's pretty grand as an ambition to me but for now he's just scraping by trying to survive with the kids.

How about loving God with all our heart, and our neighbor as ourselves?

In the Christian world view, the biggest need that mankind has, it to repair the rift in our relationship with God, and not be separated from Him for eternity. So I have to agree with Ayin Jade there, preach the gospel to every creature, for there is no other name (Jesus) given under heaven by which we must be saved. Therefore the greatest act of love we can undertake, is to get the message out to those who are lost, the rest is between they and God.

Perhaps that type of development is one goal God has for us.

The context is that prior to the sending of apostles and prophets to them, the Gentiles did not have the Gospel, they were ignorant of the God of Israel, they worshiped idols and were chasing after false gods. In their ignorance they had erected an altar to an unknown deity, and Paul skillfully used this as a way to make Him known to them.

Act 17:22-23  Then Paul stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that in every way you are very religious.  (23)  For as I walked around and examined your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore what you worship as something unknown, I now proclaim to you.

There is a previous passage that illustrates the type of ignorance the Gentiles had been in, unrestrained and unpunished by God, but despised by Him for giving glory due Him to inanimate objects and demonic entities, yet shown patience and forbearing by not withholding necessities.

Act 14:11-18  And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.  (12)  And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.  (13)  Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.  (14)  Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,  (15)  And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:  (16)  Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.  (17)  Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.  (18)  And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.

God would approve of studying His Word.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

@Space_Karen

Hey, Karen. . .  Do you not know that, by far, these days are the most exciting "Bible Times" in the history of mankind?  I believe we are currently living in the "time of the end" that the prophet Daniel spoke about in 12:4, a time when "knowledge shall be increased" and the seals that are written about in the 6th chapter of Revelation would be opened and made clear by Jesus Christ to "the wise," which are those of us who diligently study His Word and hear His voice (Rev. 6).  Why must we understand what those seals tell us?  Because they contain the knowledge we need concerning the events of this final generation we’re living in today so that we will not be deceived. So let’s press on, Karen, for such a time as this.  We’ve got a job to do!    -Selah

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
