2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling,

not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace,

which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

Grace without purpose is easily led astray. Election does not equal

salvation, as has been said, but it is the path to salvation for the

elect, who must be found faithful, and chosen for His Purpose,

to rule with Him in His Kingdom.

Revelation 17:14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb

will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings;

and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.

The Gospel is never presented as it is in modern evangelicalism,

that is accepting Christ determines who goes to heaven or hell.

It is who will serve Him, in holiness and righteousness.

Luke 1:

74 To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies,

Would serve Him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.

The question I would propose, is what does it mean to call

someone Lord, not Savior.

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one

speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one

can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

"Well done, good and faithful servant".

To be faithful requires the saints to do the works ordained for them.

How often is Ephesians 2:8 & 9 cited for saved by grace to deride a

"works based salvation", while ignoring verse 10?

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,

which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

This can make it seem as if works and supposed human merit supersede the grace of God at conversion, whereas I would see Ephesians teaching that it is all of electing grace - otherwise not at all.

Certainly not human merit, but a willingness to hand over your life

to a Lord and Master, and serve Him and His Father's purpose.

You must be willing, in order to know...

John 7:

17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning

the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on

My own authority.

18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory;

but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true,

and no unrighteousness is in Him.

Where exactly does, "if you want to know where you are going

if you die tonight, repeat after me"; come from?

There is also 2 Thessalonians 2.13: "God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth".

2 Timothy 2:21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter,

he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master,

prepared for every good work.

Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit upon the obedient.

Obedience to the Spirit is the work of righteousness.

1 Peter 1:Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,

through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience

and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:

Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

1 John 3:

7 Little children, let no one deceive you.

He who practices righteousness is righteous,

just as He is righteous.

10 In this the children of God and the children

of the devil are manifest:

Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God,

nor is he who does not love his brother.

and you are taking your systematic acceptance and adding it to this ... This is not what the Scripture is saying... I am getting your commentary not exegesis!

chapter and verse please that says regeneration comes first?

Maybe this one? At least a start, more than one verse is required.

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one

speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one

can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

not one of these verses says regeneration precedes faith... you might as well give up for the calvinist have not be able to produce a verse since the early church has challenged for such... I have studied and it simple is not there ... you see it cause it's in your head but it is not written down anywhere as such

I don't know Calvinism, but I know this, that when the Gospel is preached,

those who receive are convicted by the Holy Spirit, confirming the preachers

word, and the sincerity in the heart of the new believer.

John 16:8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin,

and of righteousness, and of judgment.

Perhaps the kingdom is not inherited by all believers.

At least not as rulers, maybe the ruled.

27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron;

They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—

as I also have received from My Father;

1 Corinthians 15:

41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon,

and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from

another star in glory.

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown

in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.

43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory.

It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.

Yes; if someone has been born again, he knows it (even if he doesn't know the correct expression yet).  It changes you - dramatically, from darkness to light, from death to life, from unbelief to faith.  It is a miraculous work of God, not a product of the sinful human will.

This is why, when I hear some people say things like, "I made the decision to believe in Jesus and now I'm saved.", alarm bells go off in my head.  How can anyone whom God has saved, make such a statement?  It's a sign of dead religion, not living relationship.

We are born from above to receive from above.

When you receive wisdom from above (James 3),

you know it is not of yourself. If you are not receiving

"every good gift and the perfect giving", what are you

waiting for? How do you know if you are born again, other

than remember the moment you converted. That's not much

of a testimony.
