This has been my take for a while as well. Our actions can serve to confirm or deny what we're saying with our mouths, and these days our keyboards. We see in I Timothy 5:8 an example of this where it's said that someone who doesn't take care of their own has denied the faith, a rather clear example of a course of action makes a powerful negative statement. Jesus Himself also told us in Matthew 7: 21-23 that there will be people saying "Lord, Lord..." who are going to to be denounced as workers of iniquity. Similarly Jesus said in Matthew 25:40-45 that as we do or don't do to the least of these we've effectively done/not done to Him. I feel like Jesus cursing the fig tree with no fruit also makes a rather strong statement that we should be active in our faith to the degree we're capable of. Bear fruit and show what kind of trees we are.

requires more than lip service. It requires actions befitting repentance.

Acts 26:

19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

20 but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem

and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles,

that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and

believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Confessing with the mouth alone is known to be insufficient, for the Lord has

already said, they worship with their mouth, but their heart is far from me.

Hence,

2 Peter 2:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure,

for if you do these things you will never stumble.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.

Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

You are making very good points in your post.

We need to examine our selves to see if we exhibit the fruits of the Spirit...

But we need to be careful not to Judge anyone whether he is a believer in Jesus Christ by his outwardly projection to others around him..

We need to consider that Jesus is asking everyone to believe as he is...

For that matter we have believers from any walk of life...

We have smokers as an example... the invitation to believe in Jesus Christ comes without the condition that the individual has to quit smoking or drinking and then believe...we cannot tell someone first quit smoking or drinking and then believe...not this is not in the Gospel...where no one is forbitten to believe even believe when he is intoxicated...

When the Gospel is preached on an open podium...attempting to attract passersbies intoxicated people will be amongs the people who stopped to listen.

The rules for a membership or to receive water baptism or to help as an usher they are up to the leadership of each church...rules how to live as a member representing the congregation or rules how the leadership contacts them selves it's up to each church...

On an open podium when the Gospel is preached and someone believes as they hear the Gospel the people are asked to believe without asking them personal questions...like are you living common law? Or are you  willing to participate in charitable work? Or quit smoking...or use bad language.

And if you smoke or use foul language the other believers will see that and if you tell them that you believe they won't believe you because they will Judge your faith in Jesus Christ buy what you do and say....by your fruit...

They will Judge your behavior and your attitude or the way you are probably dressing up as something that they do not permit them selves to do...they will make the mistake to be quick to Judge your faith in Jesus Christ...and say that you are not a believer in Jesus Christ..

This is it...they want to manage your life...and they will tell you that you are going strait to the pit...if you do not change...

They believe that the end justifies the means...

They will try to save the saved one...trying to fix his life with the fear of going to Hell as a believer...

No one says anything against looking forwards to a change for the better.  And getting rid of sinful ways...

It is not that all other non Christian Faiths promote the same thing...but the truth remains that we will all the time have believers who will continue go drink and smoke and use foul language...and we will also have those who do not...and have others caught up in different situations...

Definitely no one is telling anyone else that they have to invite them in their house ...

But Jesus Christ does invites them in his house...because he said the sick have the need of the Physician.

The Holy Spirit is giving his fellowship to them because they need help and very often through the other believers...

We are not in the old testament...Law...

Where they killed the sinners...

A better understanding of what James meant was simply evidence.

Jesus spoke of trees bearing fruit / good fruit.

Evidence. Not works salvation or works to remain saved as some

believe.

Faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-10) not by works.

What do you say? That when someone believes in Jesus Christ or the moment he believes in Jesus Christ he is not saved and that he is still condemned?  What does the scriptures say...not what the people say..

James said faith without any works .....it saves anyone who believes.

Do you not accept that? Then why you post scriptures from the Gospel of John?

Or even from John 3.

James agrees with Paul and Peter and  john...that we are saved by grace before any works...

FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST CANNOT BE AFFIRMED OR JUDGE BY THE WORKS OF MAN...

Amen !

Faith which is calling those things that be not as though they were. God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is the substance or assurance of things we hope for, but have not yet received.

So now look at works :)  Abraham offered Isaac his son why? God made Abraham a promise to which Abraham never once questioned it but believed. So when told to offer his son he never blinked a eye never doubted Gods promise or what God just told him to do. We love to think we are walking by faith but were not for we are so many times unsure doubt always comes in and it never come to be and well that was Gods will is our answer which if God gave us a promise already spoke it then sorry its us who fail. So we don't grow in faith and our faith is still as a baby. Where we still desire mike we can't handle meat we tend to make fun it.

Again like I always say on every forum you just don't read about "faith".  Always leads to some group which are of God but lack something others have yet they know faith and have the works the fruit of you will. Hmm Christ is all yet we are the body so would it not conclude we need what the other has to become one body?

"“Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." AMEN here it is... so simple. Some call that actions works so its wrong.. praise God

Thank you.

Folks take, hold to & share what man says about God's word.....duh.

It's like they think he didn't REALLY mean EXACTLY what he said !

Holy inspired men were moved by God's Spirit to write those things he's heard & saw in heaven....no hidden agenda for him.

SIMPLE DOES ...NOT MAKE GOD A SIMPLETON ! Man well; read 'em &

weep ! ! !

@Rosie1jack2pauline3

God's word is our bread of life....we are to eat, even when it may seem bitter.

God's Spirit is the MOST IN-DEPTH TEACHER, if any will let him lead, not got questions, answers ect.!

It is all about the individual and their goal, laziness is unbecoming.  Copying and pasting isn't studying nor is it THE GROWTH HORMONE MANY NEED !

The way is sooooo simple that as Jesus drew the child onto his lap he said we must be like them for in their trust, belief & innocence THEY can find the way.

So, I disagree with your “ opinion “ with respect.

GOT is full of knowledge from the word of God.

Okkkkkkk.

😂

Been there done this b4 as jackrosie, I'm sure.

So let's just agree to disagree.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
